Define Your Profile & Rejuvenate Your Face - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Getting older will happen to us all, and the worst part is looking in the mirror and noticing the way our face is changing. We might see our face beginning to sag, bags appear under the eyes, we might notice the start of jowls and the lack of definition at the jaw line. Sometimes it's almost enough to make us avoid looking in the mirror because we're so self-conscious of our faults.

There comes a time when we reach a certain age, and we start to notice our facial profile has suddenly become a little blurry. The strong definition of our features aren't as sharp as they were, and we lose volume in various areas of our face; under the eyes will become hollow, the fat pads in our cheekbones will diminish making the face look gaunt, we can develop nose to mouth lines giving us jowls, and the skin's elasticity loosens leading to wrinkles and sagging skin.

There are some treatment options that we can have to rectify this;

Face lift - we can have a full cosmetic face lift. This however is a painful and costly experience which needs good deal of down time. These days lots women, and men, prefer non-invasive procedures that need less recovery time and less self-care after the treatment.

Dermal Fillers - these can add volume to fill in hollows under the eyes, give the skin a gentle lift, creating higher cheekbones or injected along the jaw line to give definition. Injectable treatments have always been a good option for those not wanting a surgical procedure. Dermal fillers give great results and you can return to work the next day with no-one knowing you've had any treatment, they will just be curious to know how you look so fresh and rejuvenated.

PDO threads lifts- at Selston Cosmetic Clinic we've performed PDO thread lift treatment for a few years now and they can make a massive difference. We can use PDO's as a stand alone treatment or use it together with botox and dermal fillers to get a fantastic result.

The PDO threads we use for this treatment are the same ones used in open heart surgery and over the months they will gradually dissolve. All the time the threads remain under the skin, they cause collagen to form by stimulating the fibroblasts, and this also improves skin tone and radiance. Before treatment, local anaesthetic is given which dramatically reduces any discomfort from the injections. We place the threads under the skin, and they lift and tighten the skin by promoting collagen and elastin and smooth the skin by promoting hyalauronic acid, which improves skin hydration. The procedure takes less than an hour and the results last between 12-18 months. PDO thread lifts are essentially a face lift without the surgery. There are no incisions or cuts, just simple injections placed in strategic places.

Areas suitable for PDO threads;
  • Horizontal and vertical forehead wrinkles
  • Sagging eyebrows
  • Bags under the eyes
  • Cheeks
  • Naso-labial folds
  • Marionette lines
  • Jaw line
  • Creased cheeks

The procedure is almost painless with only a small amount of downtime. You might experience the odd bruise, but these are easily covered with light make-up. If you want to redefine your face, but you don’t want invasive surgery, then PDO thread lift treatment is an ideal solution.

Remove Unsightly Facial Tread Veins With Laser Treatment - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Your self-confidence can easily be destroyed if you are unhappy about your appearance. Redness in the face, especially around the nose and cheek areas is a common problem that affects men and women of all ages. We all want beautiful skin but sometimes that doesn't come easily. It takes a lot of time to maintain a flawless complexion, and working hard at having a clean, healthy, clear skin will ultimately give you lots more confidence, but it's worth the effort.

Facial thread veins, sometimes called spider veins, can sometimes be caused by sun exposure, smoking, excess alcohol, sometimes people have a family predisposition to them, but mostly they are just part of the ageing process. Many people suffer from these red or purple blood vessels showing on their face, and they might appear as blotches, small veins or a complex network of veins, but in reality these blood vessels are not veins, but permanently dilated and broken capillaries and because they are located close to the surface of the skin, they are highly visible.

There are things you can do to lessen or take away the spider veins on your face, and one treatment is a laser procedure, which is simple, safe and a quick way to remove them. Laser treatment takes about 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the size of the area you need treating. A laser gets applied to the skin directly above the spider veins, and the energy from the laser is preferentially absorbed by coloured tissues. The laser energy causes the spider veins to first heat up, and then collapse. After the treatment, the body slowly re-absorbs the veins.

Most clients feel only minimal discomfort, maybe some tingling or stinging sensations, but a topical anaesthetic cream can easily be applied if it's needed. The treated skin might be slightly sensitive for a few days after treatment, but most people need no recovery time at all, and can return to their normal activities immediately after the treatment. The spider veins will look better after just one treatment, although in some cases, more than one session maybe required to get long-lasting results to get rid of them completely. Most people will need two or three courses of treatment, scheduled a month apart.

Removing visible facial spider or thread veins is now almost painless with the latest laser treatments, removing the thread veins, revealing clearer-looking skin. It's advisable to do lots of moisturising afterwards and sunscreen application is essential to protect the skin after treatment.

Sleek, Smooth Silhouette with Vaser Lipo - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Lots of women are self-conscious about the way they look, and as more women, and men, are wanting to feel better about their bodies, vaser lipo treatments are making this possible. Treatments that contour and sculpt the body are continuing to grow in popularity, making vaser lipo one of the most popular cosmetic treatments performed today.

As time passes, our body can experience a number of changes, and sometimes, even though we might lead an active lifestyle, we may find that over time we've put on some weight that we just can't shift.

Even living in Britain with its unpredictable weather, the sun will eventually come out and we will want to start wearing skimpier outfits that show off our bodies. The shape of our body determines how our clothes fit us and what clothes we are willing to wear. We're more likely to wear baggy clothes or a kaftan, if we have a mummy tummy, love handles or thunder thighs.

Luckily, there is a solution. Vaser lipo is an ideal way to slim down, tone up and achieve definition, meaning we will be able to flash the flesh on our summer holidays. Vaser treatment gives us the opportunity to wear slim-fitting clothes, as well as letting us feel comfortable with the way we look. So whether we gain weight through a slowing metabolism, the menopause, genetics or just good living, rather than carrying extra fat around with us, it's always better to lose it.

Vaser lipo treatment :
Is able to treat many areas of the body
We are able to remove large quantities of fat
Can precisely sculpt even delicate areas of the body
Can achieve curves and definition
Fast recovery times
Only minor discomfort
A minimally invasive procedure
Smooth, tight results which improve over time
Walk in, walk out procedure

Vaser lipo is a less invasive treatment than traditional liposuction, which means a faster procedure, a quick recovery time and instant visible results. You can walk out of the clinic just a few hours after the procedure takes place, and bruising and swelling will be kept to a minimum.

Vaser results are very subtle and natural, giving you improved contours and overall body shape. Clients see results straight away, however, the improved overall appearance will become more prominent in the months after the procedure.

Vaser Lipo benefits:
It's a safe procedure
Fast, smooth results in all areas of the body
Improved skin retraction
Minimally invasive and scarring
Less bruising and swelling than traditional liposuction
Faster patient recovery
Affordable cost
Effective in the more fibrous areas

Vaser Lipo Treatment For Back & Bra Fat - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

When you spend a lot of money on a new outfit, there's nothing worse than bra fat pushing through the fabric. Where once you had a smooth silhouette, now all you see are layers of fat, bulging from under your bra strap. When we put on weight, it doesn’t spread evenly on the body. Women tend to accumulate excess fat across their back, which leads to bulges at the bra strap area, making you feel self-conscious about how you look in the clothes you wear.

Back fat is a common occurrence for most adults, and even those who are slim and toned will despair when they catch sight of bulges of fat pushing out from under the bra strap. The back fat appears as bulges or rolls, which will lead to folds on the back. It's hard to lose back fat by simply dieting and exercising, which makes vaser lipo the ideal procedure to correct these problem areas.

There are several areas of the back that can be reduced and sculpted using vaser lipo :
  • The lumbo-sacral fat pad: which is at the lower back, just above the tailbone.
  • Posterior waist fat: This is found on the back, just above the hips. Fat around the back of your waist is affectionately known as your spare tire or on the sides, as love handles.
  • Posterior axillary fat: Upper outer back near the armpit.
  • Infra-scapular fat: This is the roll of fat above the waist, below the shoulder blades. It's typically the unsightly fat that bulges below the bra strap.
Getting rid of back fat, just like fat on other areas of the body, can sometimes prove exceptionally stubborn, no matter what amount of exercise you do or how healthy your diet is. The skin on our back is thicker and the fat deposits are more fibrous, making it a more difficult area to treat. Vaser lipo allows a greater deal of selection than other procedures, which means it’s particularly effective in treating the back.

When we perform vaser procedure on back fat, we use local anaesthetic to numb the area. The local anaesthesia, together with the vaser lipo ensures faster healing and better quality results. During treatment we take all areas of the back into consideration, which will leave you with a consistent and natural appearance after the treatment.

Vaser lipo is a minimally invasive, walk-in walk-out alternative to traditional liposuction, the treatment allows clients to sculpt their back and deliver toning in this area. At the end of the back vaser lipo treatment, you will finally feel able to show off your body, wearing clothes that fit your style without any restrictions or concerns.

Vaser Lipo Information - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

When you are considering vaser lipo treatment , you should always do your research and only choose a reputable cosmetic clinic with qualified doctors. You can check to see how many cosmetic procedures the doctor has performed, have a look at their before and after photo's and check them out on Internet forums, as these are a great source of information.

The Consultation
When considering vaser lipo, the first thing you should do is book a consultation to see the doctor. At Selston Cosmetic Clinic, the consultation is free, but this isn't always the case. At the consultation, your requirements and expectations will be fully discussed and we will recommend the procedure that will get you the most effective results for your body.

The consultation will involve:
  • Taking your medical history
  • Understanding your expectations and what you want from the procedure
  • If you are asking for several procedures, it's decided if we can do the treatments together, or in separate appointments
  • Discuss the range of vaser treatments: standard vaser, vaser mid def or vaser hi def
  • Evaluating skin thickness and elasticity
  • Measuring the amount of fat to remove
  • Pricing. We will discuss the costs of the procedure
  • We talk you through the vaser liposuction procedure
  • We explain about pre-op preparation, compression garments, antibiotics and post op care

Vaser Lipo before and after

Procedure
We flood the target area with local anaesthetic via very tiny and carefully made incisions. The doctor will make a couple of small cuts between the skin and the muscle layer and will then insert a small thin probe. We send the vaser ultrasound energy to the targeted areas, using very thin, solid and grooved probes. Its innovative technology respects the veins, nerves, blood vessels and surrounding tissue, so leaves them relatively intact. We deliver the energy to the fatty deposits between your skin and muscle, causing fat cells to vibrate, and this action dissolves the fat cells and simply melts the fat to liquid. The liquid fat is then drained from the body through suction.

Post op care
Choosing to have a cosmetic procedure, going through with it and paying out good money, is no use whatsoever if you don't follow the doctor's recommendations for well-needed care afterwards. Post op care is just as important as the actual procedure, and you should follow the post op instructions to the letter. With some essential after care, you can promote a speedy recovery.

MLD - Manual Lymphatic Drainage
Some swelling after a vaser lipo procedure is normal and it's highly recommended to have MLD sessions to help reduce any swelling. Body massage helps to unblock and drain the lymphatic system and accumulations of liquid that's in the body, partly as a result of the anaesthetic solution being trapped under the skin. It helps reduce, lumps and bumps, swelling and any discomfort that you might feel after vaser procedure. The massage should feel like gentle stroking and not feel uncomfortable at all.

Types of compression garments

 Surgical Compression Garments
Following a vaser procedure, patients have to wear a compression garment on the area of the body that's been treated, to aid the healing process. Keeping the area compressed, helps to minimise the chances of the skin sagging, as well as reducing the risk of unwanted creases from forming. The compression garment holds and supports the skin, giving the area the help it needs to heal naturally. By applying a consistent pressure on deep tissues, makes any chance of post-surgery complications unlikely. The length of time for wearing the compression garments is between four to six weeks, depending on which area you've had treated and this is something you will discuss with your doctor  at your appointment. When choosing a surgical compression garment for post op care, you want something that's easily removable and easy enough for you to put back on by yourself.

Vaser Lipo Away That Double Chin! - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Lots of us hate having our photo's taken, as they can really show off our double chin. Sometimes we don't realise that our jaw line is slowly disappearing until someone shows us photos taken in profile, giving us the proof we really didn't want to see!

Many people suffer with a double chin and always make sure they put their face into a certain position when having a photograph taken. As we age and our skin loses its elasticity, a double chin is likely to develop. Having a double chin doesn't always mean you are overweight, it can also mean that the muscles in the chin and neck aren't as developed as they could be.

If there’s anything that shows the creeping effects of ageing, it’s the looser skin on your jaw line and neck resulting in a double chin or the dreaded jowls. A double chin can cause embarrassment and distress, and might be a sign that you should change your diet. It's possible to reduce and even eradicate fat in the chin area with a healthy, low-fat, nutritious diet and regular exercise or maybe if all else fails, cosmetic treatment could be the answer.

Fat is often stored under your chin if you are overweight, although other causes include age and genetics. Just because you have a double chin doesn’t necessarily mean you’re old, and it also doesn’t have to mean that you're overweight. But, whatever the cause is, a double chin can totally take away the beauty of a face.

There are three things that determine a double chin;
  • You might be genetically predisposed to having a double chin. Your genetics influence the muscle and bone structure and fat deposit characteristics of your face. Some people retain too much water in the chin area, and others naturally store excess fat.
  • Your age also determines whether you may, or may not develop a double chin. The older we get, the more the skin thins and becomes less elastic and the muscles lose their tone which creates a sagging droopy look.
  • Excess body fat is also a cause. Your body stores fat in different places and every part of the body is fair game when it comes to fat storage. It's almost impossible to lose fat from just one place, so if you need to lose fat from your double chin, you must lose fat from all over.

If diet and exercise just won't get rid of it, then Vaser Lipo is a great way to get rid of the fat from under the chin. It's a straightforward procedure that gives fabulous results. After a local anaesthetic numbs the area, the vaser melts and liquefies the fat cells, which then get suctioned out through thin probes. Vaser Lipo is not a method to lose weight or an alternative to diet and exercise. It should be regarded as a form of body contouring, which sculpts the body to the desired look.

Ideal Candidates for Vaser Lipo Procedures - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Everyone has body issues and at some time or other feel insecure about the way their body looks. All around, on TV, in magazines and posted on social media there are images of seemingly perfect men and women with absolutely no body imperfections! Now, we might know that they airbrush most of these images, but that doesn't stop us feeling slightly dissatisfied with our wobbly bits.

Luckily, for people who feel insecure about some of their body parts, Vaser liposuction is a great way to slim and contour your body exactly the way you want it. It’s a more gentle and precise method than traditional liposuction, and an ideal way to achieve your desired shape. Vaser is a minimally invasive treatment and is a great way to target problem areas and sculpt the body. When faddy diets and hours at the gym exercising just won't get rid of that stubborn tummy or give you sleek silhouette, then it might be time to consider Vaser Liposuction.

Just 3 weeks after Vaser Lipo!
Before the Vaser Lipo procedure

A good candidate for Vaser Lipo treatment is:

Weight.
If you’re within 30% of your ideal weight, then Vaser Lipo is an ideal treatment for you, if it's any more than 30% then you should probably consider a different weight loss method. Vaser Lipo is not a weight reduction procedure, it is a body contouring procedure.

Skin elasticity.
Firm skin with good elasticity will help you to achieve the look you want after your procedure. Usually, visible skin retraction takes between 2-4 weeks and gets better & better over the 4-6 months after the procedure.

Muscle tone.
It helps if you already have good muscle tone before your treatment. To achieve maximum results, many experienced Vaser doctors recommend that you start to tone your muscles before you have a procedure.

Health.
Relatively good health before Vaser Lipo is important, and that you do not have any illnesses or medical conditions that may prevent you from healing properly after treatment. However, if you do suffer from a particular health condition, your doctor will talk to you about your suitability for Vaser Lipo.

Before and after Vaser Hi-Def

People choosing Vaser Lipo treatments should have a realistic idea on what results they want to achieve. At the first consultation at the Selston Cosmetic Clinic, Dr. Bassi; after looking at your fat distribution, skin, muscle tone and overall body shape, will talk you through the procedure. He will give you honest advice on what is, and what isn't achievable.

So if you're in good health, have reasonable expectations about the results, if you’re within 30% of your ideal weight and have firm skin with good elasticity, then you are a great candidate for Vaser Lipo.

Before & After Vaser Lipo on the Tummy - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

At the Selston Cosmetic Clinic, one of the most popular cosmetic treatments we do is Vaser Lipo. We get lots of enquiries about it, asking; which areas can it treat, how long does a procedure take, is it painful and what happens afterwards? If you are thinking of having Vaser treatment, then check out the gallery of before and after photo's on the Selston Cosmetic Clinic website, or if you have decided to have Vaser Lipo treatment, then give us a call and we can book you an appointment for a free consultation with Dr. Bassi.

If you have trouble losing stubborn fat from one particular place, then doing exercises that concentrate on the problem area may help.  In many cases there is no way to completely tone the area, and if you are in this position and it's causing you distress, why not consider cosmetic treatment?
People wonder which body areas are suitable for Vaser Lipo treatment. Well, the answer is, lots!

Areas that are popular with women are:
Abdomen
Hips
Arms
Inner thighs and outer thighs
Buttocks
And the areas most popular with men are:
Abdomen
Embarrassing male breasts (Man boobs)
Love handles / Flanks

A few weeks ago this woman came to the Selston Cosmetic Clinic for Vaser Lipo treatment of the tummy. She was happy with her body, but she had a bit of a belly and all she wanted was to get her tummy more in proportion.

Before treatment

Dr. Bassi did the procedure and a few weeks later she came back for a follow-up appointment and she was looking great. With even better results to look forward to in the coming months!

A few weeks after Vaser Lipo and look at the difference!

The tummy area is a very common place for Vaser Lipo treatments. It works well removing stubborn areas of fat which are very hard to shift with diet and exercise alone. Vaser Lipo can target a pot belly, love handles and muffin tops.

Vaser Lipo has lots of advantages:
It doesn't need general anaesthetic, instead we use local anaesthetic to numb the treatment area.
The procedure is minimally invasive – no damage to other body tissues or nerves.
Improved skin retraction.
Minimal risk of bleeding, scarring, bruising and discomfort.

Vaser Lipo is a walk-in-walk-out procedure, so minimal downtime, which is great news for those with busy schedules.

Vaser Lipo is excellent for reducing fatty bulges and sculpting a beautiful natural contour to the body. The body won’t replace the fat cells removed from these areas during a procedure, so it can deliver a long-lasting change to your body shape.

This procedure is not intended as a weight loss solution, the aim is to create a slimmer silhouette. You won't lose a significant amount of weight loss through Vaser, but you will be very happy with your new slimmer shape.

Before & After Vaser Lipo on Outer Thighs - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

It's so annoying thinking that most of your body is in good shape, but frustratingly you have a certain part of it that you just hate. And no matter how much dieting and exercise you do, you can't get that one bit looking right.

Fat accumulates in different places on men and women. Men tend to store excess fat around their flanks, abdomen and breasts. Women, however, often accumulate fat around the buttocks, hips, thighs, knees and lower abdomen. The good news is that Vaser Lipo can treat all of these areas.

Every year, both women and men have Vaser Lipo treatment to achieve a variety of goals. Whether it's to look better in a swimsuit, to wear clothes that fit more comfortably or just for their own self-confidence in their body image. For men, Vaser Liposuction can also successfully treat gynecomastia, also known as man boobs.

At the Selston Cosmetic Clinic we perform the Vaser Lipo procedure regularly with satisfying results, as you'll see if you check out the before and after photo's on our website. Vaser Lipo is best suited for small to medium volumes of fat removal and it's performed under a local anaesthetic. We make tiny incisions in the treatment area, insert the probe and ultrasound energy is directed into the fat cells. We then use a suction device, to gently remove the emulsified fat cells, creating the naturally beautiful contours you expect from a Vaser procedure.

Before Vaser Lipo

This lovely woman had Vaser Lipo of the outer thighs. Her legs were a little chunky and she was aware that one of her outer thighs was uneven and not as smooth as the other. She was looking forward to wearing summer dresses and was afraid that the fabric would cling in the wrong places and show off her less than smooth silhouette.

Three weeks after Lipo and you can see a smoother silhouette.

So Dr. Bassi worked his magic and she was left with symmetrical legs and a smoother silhouette. Just three weeks later and the client was delighted with the early results. As well as giving her a big confidence boost, she said it had already made a huge difference to how her clothes fitted her!

Though you can see a difference straight after the Vaser Lipo procedure, the result is likely to improve with time and healing of the treated area. After a period of about three to four months you will see the final results of the procedure, providing you with a natural-looking result.

Vaser Lipo is an advanced body contouring procedure and it's a great way to sculpt and reshape your body. All our clients are fully counselled to make sure they understand what can be achieved with their procedure, and if the results turn out better than originally thought .. everybody is happy!

When having the Vaser Lipo procedure, it's important to know what’s realistic for you, and for your body shape. It really does depend on what will suit you, and not just to copy this seasons current body trend.

Safely Choose Where to Have Botox for Wrinkle Treatment - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Botox treatment tackles signs of ageing, such as fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes, mouth, and chin. By injecting botox into the correct area's, the muscles begin to relax and lift, lifting the skin and smoothing out the fine lines. When they're done properly, botox injections can take years off your appearance, so it's not surprising that wrinkle injections are growing in popularity, and more and more people are using them to their advantage.

It's a sad fact that in the cosmetic industry, anyone, regardless of experience or qualifications, can administer non-surgical cosmetic treatments. Which means that in the UK, thousands of people suffer at the hands of untrained practitioners every year. Anyone, regardless of their knowledge, ability, qualifications or experience, can set themselves up to administer treatments to the paying customer, and it's perfectly legal. Cosmetic treatments given by untrained people can result in injuries ranging from burns, infection, scarring and allergic reactions.

Botox, the injectable treatment for fine lines and wrinkles, has rapidly grown to become one of the most popular and most used non-surgical cosmetic procedures. Choosing where to go, and who to go to for the first time is difficult, but you can check some things to make sure you pick the right clinic for you, making sure that you are entrusting your health and appearance to the right person.

Things to think about before deciding to have botox:
  • Having botox injected into your facial muscles is a skilled procedure and should only be administered by a qualified and trained practitioner. Preferably a doctor with experience in cosmetic treatments, and who has specialised had training in facial anatomy and has a well-developed aesthetic eye.
  • Research the practitioner. For UK doctors, the GMC have an online registration checking service which allows you to check a doctors GMC status online.
  • There are established places providing botox and other beauty procedures at medical, dental and cosmetic clinics. Premises such as beauty salons, hairdressers, and department stores may offer botox treatments and most of these places are well equipped with suitable standards, but unfortunately there are some that are not ideal places to perform injectable treatments. Botox parties at home aren't suitable places to have treatment.
  • Almost all reputable clinics will offer a free consultation to clients. This is ideal for enquiring about certain procedures and finding out what is involved in your chosen treatments before you commit yourself. It allows you to check out the premises and staff to make sure you feel comfortable and is also the time to ask the doctor any questions you may have. If the doctor seems too busy, distracted, rude or is too pushy, then give them a wide berth.
  • Most people tolerate injections very well, but some are more sensitive to needles than others. If you don't tolerate pain very well, ask about pain relief, usually topical anesthetic creams or gels can be applied to numb the area before the injections. Botox needles are very thin and the injections aren't very deep, so any discomfort during the procedure is usually minimal.
  • A 2-week follow-up review should be untaken by the Practitioner/Doctor.
  • Be aware that you should be patient when waiting for results. After injections, there is always some slight swelling and bruising, regardless of the experience and skill of your doctor. Significant results will show after 3-7 days when everything has settled down. Less is more, so always be aware that over-treating the face can make the face expressionless and mask-like.
At the Selston Cosmetic Clinic, Dr. Bassi is a fully trained cosmetic practitioner in advanced Botox technique with over 10 year experience. After treatment, clients are reviewed at a two-week follow-up and if required we will top up the Botox FREE, to deliver the aesthetic results expected at the initial consultation.

Dr. Bassi is fully trained with over 10 years experience.
Selston Cosmetic Clinic offers a Botox clinic service Monday – Friday with afternoon and evening appointments and Saturday morning appointments. Our Botox clinic prides itself in delivering a professional cost effective service, which is well received by our clients.

With the help of the right cosmetic procedures you’ll easily be able to turn back the clock to get the line-free face of your youth. It’s surprising the difference that the right injections can make and they’re the perfect choice for anyone that simply wants to look a bit fresher.

Removing Moles From The Face & Body Using Radio Frequency - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

While personally you might despise them, and have a big desire to look for removal options, just remember that these little spots are what make you standout from the crowd. Moles, when small and neat are often regarded as ‘beauty spots’ when found on the face. Celebrities famous for their moles include Marilyn Monroe, Cindy Crawford and Eva Mendes and their moles seem to add to their beauty and allure. On the other hand, there are those other famous faces who opted to have theirs removed : Enrique Iglesias, Sarah Jessica Parker and Madonna!

Moles that are highly noticeable on the body or face can affect self-confidence and cause embarrassment for the sufferer. If they restrict movement, or are overly large, then this can sometimes result in pain and distress. Larger moles, besides being a potential health risk, can be unflattering and cause irritation when rubbed against clothes or during shaving.

Moles can appear anywhere on the skin, especially on the face, arms and neck and can vary in size, shape and colour. Some moles are flat, while others can have a raised appearance and although most moles are harmless, it is important to make sure that a doctor examines any mole that changes colour or shape or starts to irritate, as these symptoms could be signs of something more serious.

Moles are very common, with 1 in every 100 babies being born with one or more, although more moles can develop later on. They are often a brownish colour, although they can also be darker or skin-coloured. Moles have a smooth edge and are usually circular or oval in shape and some have hair growing from them.

Moles can increase in number and change in appearance. Sometimes, over time moles fade away, often unnoticed. They can also respond to hormonal changes :
  • Pregnancy - doesn't usually lead to the creation of more moles, but existing moles may get slightly darker in colour.
  • Teenage years - there are a lot of hormonal changes that tend to occur when a person hits their teens. During the teen years the incidence of moles will be the greatest, when they may increase in number.
  • Older age - they may disappear from 40 to 50 years of age onwards.
  • Sunlight - prolonged exposure to sunlight can trigger the formation of moles. Moles triggered by sunlight are more likely to turn into melanoma, or skin cancer.

The vast majority of moles just sit on your body and they cause no harm whatsoever, that being said, many people choose to get rid of their moles for purely aesthetic reasons. Mole removal treatment is one of the simplest procedures in cosmetic surgery and at the Selston Cosmetic Clinic the preferred method is radio frequency as it is ideal for facial moles.
At the mole removal consultation
  • A clinical history will be taken by our experienced cosmetic physician and GP, Dr. Bassi.
  • The lesion will be examined and if required the mole will be analysed using a state of the art skin scanner system.
  • The method of mole removal will be recommended and discussed.
  • If clinically it is deemed necessary, the mole can be excised and sent for histology.
Mole removal is a relatively quick and simple surgical procedure, where we use state of the art technology that produces radio waves which instantly vaporises the mole, and results in much less scarring. The mole can be removed under local anaesthetic, which means that the affected skin area will be completely numb but you stay awake.
The most you are likely to experience is a possible scab following the removal and some potential redness, which could last up to four weeks at the most. The procedure itself usually takes no longer than twenty minutes. The removal of moles is a very common procedure requiring little recovery time.
The consultation is free and our treatments cost £150 for the first mole and £75 for subsequent moles.

Hair Transplants - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield and Chesterfield.

Hair Transplants

Should you have a hair transplant?
Certain male celebrities seem to have fuller heads of hair as they age, than they did when they were young!

Jude Law, Wayne Rooney, James Nesbitt, Mel Gibson and Kevin Costner have all had hair transplants, which seem to have been very successful, so do you ask yourself  "If they can do it, why can’t I?"

One reason to proceed with a hair transplant is personal vanity and just think of the self esteem boost it would give you, there is also a career angle. If you work in an industry where the accent is on youth and appearing young looking, then that could be a deciding factor on whether you go for it!

Having come to the decision that you want a hair transplant, it is wise to realise that in order to choose the best clinic and doctor for your needs, you will need to spend time doing your homework. It is a good idea to visit hair transplant forums and read through other people's testimonials and experiences.

Having this procedure is a big step to take, and you should take your time researching your options to make sure you choose a reputable establishment which has fully qualified hair transplant practitioners who will suit your particular needs.
You will also want to research the latest techniques in hair restoration so that during your consultations you can ask if the clinic offers these more up to date procedures for better hair restoration results.

Once you have decided to undergo a hair transplant it is vital to have an in-depth consultation with your doctor prior to the procedure. It is important that you have a good understanding of the procedure itself and all that is involved. But you also want to make sure that you and your surgeon are on the same page and that you work together to make plans for further surgery in case of any future hair loss.

It is during the consultation that the doctor should discuss the various treatment options that are available, and both you and the doctor should be honest and upfront about any expectations or limitations relating to your hair transplant. Always discuss your wants and needs openly to make sure that the doctor has a clear understanding of what your expectations are. You should only precede with surgery once you have a realistic expectation of your hair transplant results.

A good doctor should always be very honest when discussing your procedure, whether discussing age appropriate hairlines or that transplanted hair can take between 10 and 12 months to reach full growth, or more than one hair transplant session may be required, or even that not all patients are candidates for hair transplantation.

Once you have discussed all details with your doctor and have reasonable expectations for  your hair transplant results, the chances are you will be happyto go ahead with your hair restoration procedure.

Restore your hair - restore you happiness - restore your self image !

Vaser Lipo on Inner Thighs - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield and Chesterfield.

Vaser Lipo on the Inner Thighs

When thinking of their bodies, most women consider their “problem area” to be their thighs.
Ladies who have big thighs have a lot to deal with, it’s one of those trouble spots that women struggle to maintain.
We bike, we run, we go to the gym and still our legs don’t have the shape that we want.

Now, while we are talking about thighs I must point out two words: thigh gap.
A thigh gap is a gap that emerges between a lady's inner thighs when she stands with her knees together.
If you haven’t heard of it, that’s probably because it doesn’t exist on the majority of the population.
But, due to social media, internet and magazines, in the last few years a thigh gap has become an aspect of physical attractiveness, which for most, is an impossible dream.
Peer pressure from social media has caused girls and young women to pursue an elusive and dangerous weight loss goal to achieve this look.

What we are talking about are legs that are are chunky, flabby or just a little fatter than we would like them to be.
Flabby thighs are a common source of frustration for the majority of women, as well as some men.
Diet and exercise should always be your first line of defence when tackling fat, especially as the legs tend to respond well to this combination.
That being said, there are more invasive options for when you need a little extra help.

There are various reasons why women want slimmer thighs :
When the thighs sweat and rub together getting red and sore and causing chaffing.
At water parks or swimming at the beach or pool, the legs stick uncomfortably together.
Clothing looks nicer, shorts don't ride up, trousers fit better and you feel more confident to wear shorter skirts and dresses.

It is perfectly reasonable to have vaser lipo of the inner thighs if there is excess fat which creates an unwanted fullness and distortion to the shape of your leg.
But it is important to know what’s realistic for you, for your body shape. It really does depends on what suits you and not what is this seasons current body trend.

At the Selston Cosmetic Clinic we perform this procedure regularly with satisfying results, as the before and after photo's show.
This lovely lady had Vaser Lipo of the inner thighs and knees. Her legs were a little chunky and she wanted to feel good in her jeans.
Just enough fat was taken to give the appearance of a slim, straight leg.
The client was delighted with the early results and said it had already made a huge difference to how her clothes fitted her!

This lady wanted a result where her tops of thighs did not rub together and to have a straighter outline.

We were able to smooth out the unevenness as much as possible with Vaser Lipo and to give her a smooth line from the knee to the upper thigh and to create a gap in the upper thighs.

Call us for a consultation and together we will help you to achieve the perfect leg shape for you.

PDO Threadlifts - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield and Chesterfield.

PDO Threadlifts

Getting older happens to us all and the worst part is watching the way our face changes. Have you started looking in the mirror and not liking what you see ?
Are you starting to get a saggy face ? Got some jowls at the jaw ? drooping eyelids ? And are you starting to avoid looking in the mirror because you are so self-conscious of your faults.

As we age we tend to lose the volume in various areas of our face. Also the elasticity of the skin  loosens and this leads to wrinkles and sagging skin.
The nose to mouth lines develop and that's when we get jowls.

Luckily these problems can be rectified. And PDO Threads are the answer !
These days women prefer less invasive and non-invasive procedures that involves less recovery time and less self care after the treatment.

PDO threadlifts are essentially a facelift without surgery. There are no incisions or cuts,  just simple injections placed in strategic places.
The procedure is very simple, similar to dermal fillers, but in this procedure we leave a thread inside instead of filler.

PDO threads immediately lift the skin, creating more volume and then they stimulate collagen production in the area to give tighter skin and a more youthful look.
PDO threads have been used in heart surgery for many years and are perfectly safe.
You may have read recently that EastEnders actress Gillian Taylforth, has turned back time with a non-surgical facelift which used a dissolvable thread to remove wrinkles.

PDO threads are extremely versatile and can be used all around the face and neck. They can treat vertical and horizontal wrinkles on the forehead, sagging brows, drooping cheeks, saggy jawline, neck folds and wrinkles on the chin..

We offer this treatment at the Selston Cosmetic Clinic, where after a consultation with Dr Bassi to discuss your needs, the procedure can be performed and give you amazing results.
Check out our before and after photo's.

The thread is used to give a tailor-made result, lifting specific parts of the face.
Beforehand, an injection of local anaesthetic is given, which dramatically reduces any discomfort from the injections.
The PDO threads are injected and they lift and tighten the skin by promoting collagen and elastin and smooth the skin by promoting the formation of  hyalauronic acid, which improves skin hydration / moisturisation.
Wrinkles will be reduced and crepe-like skin will look more youthful

So if you want to redefine your face but you don’t want surgery - Give us a call !

Mole Removal - Nottingham, Derby , Mansfield and Chesterfield.

Mole Removal

Almost everyone has moles on their skin and nearly all of them are harmless.
Moles occur when cells in the skin grow in a cluster instead of being spread throughout the skin. Moles are often a brownish colour, although some may be darker or skin-coloured. They can be flat or raised, smooth or rough, and some have hair growing from them. They are usually circular or oval with a smooth edge.

Society unfairly criticizes and makes fun of people with moles, especially on the face. Movies and TV shows over the years often seem to characterise the baddies, the wicked people and wrong 'uns with moles and warts on their face.

Some celebrities have defining moles (or 'beauty spots' as some call them) including Cindy Crawford, Mariah Carey, Eva Mendes and of course Marilyn Monroe. And whilst these stars opted to keep their moles, it has to be said that theirs are small, neat and quite unobtrusive. It wouldn't quite be as alluring if Marilyn had a dark brown hairy mole on her face, would it ?
On the other hand, gorgeous Enrique Iglesias, Sarah Jessica Parker and Madonna all had a mole removal procedure.

Moles can be irritating, annoying and even painful and they can really affect our self confidence.
Unlike a concealed mole on your back or leg, a facial mole or those on the neck are out there for everyone to see. And, as with spots and pimples, it seems to be an involuntary reflex to touch them, as if to check that they are still there ! You can try to hide them under make-up but you are still very much aware that they are still there.... lurking.

It can also be very irritating when moles catch on your jewellery and clothes and shaving can be a nightmare, trying to shave around the mole.

There are a few ways to get rid of unwanted moles.
The preferred method at the Selston Cosmetic Clinic is radio frequency for mole removal as it is ideal for facial moles.

We use state of the art technology that produces radio waves which instantly vaporises the moles, and results in much less scarring.
As our before and after photo's show the results are amazing !

Come to us for a consultation where our cosmetic doctor, Dr Bassi will take a clinical history and your mole removal method will be discussed.

It is a simple, quick, painless procedure and the results are instant. The procedure is performed under local anaesthetic and there are no incisions or stitches !
Full healing occurs within 4-6 weeks and only one single visit is required !

So give us a call and return your skin to its natural beauty.
