Vaser Lipo Treatment at Selston Cosmetic Clinic - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Before undergoing any cosmetic procedures to remove unwanted fat, you should try to lose as much excess fat as you can. Eating healthily and exercising in the months before Vaser Lipo will make sure that you get the best results possible from your treatment. Before you have Vaser Lipo treatment you will need a consultation, where you'll be able to talk in detail to the doctor about why you want Vaser, which technique he'll use, the length of recovery time and your expected results.

The doctor who's doing your procedure will look at your body to see which areas you're unhappy with and he'll tell you what results you can realistically expect. At the consultation, you can ask to view the portfolio of his earlier Vaser clients, looking at the before and after photos so you can see for yourself the results he has already achieved, and the difference it's made to their bodies.

To prepare yourself and your body for Vaser Lipo treatment the doctor will give you a list of things for you to follow, to give you the best chance for amazing results:

It's a medical fact that smoking slows down blood flow to the skin, increasing the risk of circulation problems after Vaser treatment and this could affect your results. Ideally, it would be better to stop smoking cigarettes altogether, but if you can't manage to do so then it's advisable to quit smoking at least two months before your procedure. If you smoke it can cause poor wound healing, which could make your recovery time longer.

Medications can interfere with your body's blood clotting ability, so it's best to let the doctor know which tablets and supplements you're taking. At least two weeks before your Vaser Lipo treatment you should stop taking any cold and sinus medication, vitamin E tablets, nutritional supplements and non-steroidal inflammatory medication.

If you're having Vaser Lipo treatment on a large area then you should prepare in advance for your recovery time. After your treatment you'll need to arrange time off work, and make sure you put off any physically demanding responsibilities until your recovery is complete. At the start of your recovery, you might need to have someone on hand to give you some help.

Before your Vaser procedure make sure you stock up on the necessary post-procedure supplies, including pain relief medication, compression garments and bandages. If you are living alone you will need a good supply of food, toiletries and pain relief. You don't want to run out of supplies if there's nobody around to help replenish them.

Vaser Lipo is a form of body contouring, which sculpts the body to the desired look. In conjunction with a heathy diet and lifestyle, the results of Vaser are permanent and can last a lifetime.

Slow Down Facial Ageing With Botox Injections - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

The signs of ageing can get you down, and seeing lines and wrinkles can knock your confidence and make you feel insecure when we start looking older. So if you're beginning to see an increase in wrinkles, or you're noticing fine lines on your face, or maybe you feel you just don't look as youthful and bright as you used to, then botox might be the answer to help reducing or eliminating those ageing wrinkles.

Botox Treatment Before and After

Botox injections are one of the most popular anti-ageing treatments on the market, thanks to its safety and effectiveness. But we must always remember that despite Botox's popularity and its increasing use, the treatment is still a medical procedure, and only a fully trained and highly experienced cosmetic doctor or nurse practitioner should carry out this treatment.
Botox treatment can also be used for:
  • Over active frown
  • Crows feet, fine lines and wrinkles
  • Correcting lines from repeated facial expression and worry lines
  • An eye lift
  • Correcting uneven eyebrows
  • Tightening the jaw line
  • Correcting the downward corners at each side of the lips
  • Treating migraines
  • Treating hyperhidrosis (armpit sweating)
Always choose a highly trained cosmetic practitioner to inject your botox treatment, as they will have performed lots of botox treatments, have a large client base and will have lots of before and after photo's, and they will have reviews and recommendations of their work that you can look at.

At your consultation you will discuss what requirements you have, and what your expectations are. When botox is properly done, no-one will be able to tell that you've had any treatment, the injections will just leave your face looking relaxed and refreshed. By choosing the right cosmetic doctor to achieve your aim, your appearance will look much improved, but will still remain looking completely natural.

Botox brow lift

*  Always check that the practitioners qualifications are authentic
*  Don't book because of offers like two for the price of one, or introduce a friend and get a discount
*  Make sure you have treatment in a clinic which is clean
*  Be aware that the cheapest priced treatment won't always be the best
*  Look at their before and after photos to check what results they achieve
*  Check online to see reviews to get recommendations
*  Ask around for word of mouth reviews

Continuity is always a good idea, so for any treatment where you go back for top up's and more treatments, it's wise to use the same practitioner who knows what you want, what you are hoping to achieve and who knows your face.

Semi-Permanent Micro Blading Eye Brows - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

If you have a busy schedule and want to save time, you could definitely benefit from having semi-permanent make-up treatment. Imagine getting out of the bed every morning with your make-up already applied, well, semi-permanent make-up can make this a reality.
Semi-permanent make-up can stay in the skin for several years so you shouldn't rush into having treatment. It's wise to find a reputable technician, with the correct qualifications and training to avoid any unfortunate mistakes. This treatment can help you to create your ideal look, which might be anything from a natural understated appearance to an adventurous and glamorous style.
Before you go for any facial enhancements, you should do some research
* Make sure the technician is fully trained, fully insured and fully licensed with the local council
* Choose someone who is on trend and up to date with current trends and techniques
* Check out photos of their work on their websites and on social media
* Don't have treatment done at your home, always go to a shop, clinic or salon
* Have a consultation to discuss what you want and what will suit you
* Over time the colour will fade to a softer colour complimenting the skin tone
Semi-permanent make-up has become really popular over the past decade, and over the past few years micro blading has become a treatment that's often asked for. Micro blading the eye brows individually with strokes of colour makes them look natural, unlike the block of colour that happens when you pencil them on.
Micro blading is a technique where we put small particles of pigment into the eyebrows to create extra fine hair strokes. It's done with a hand-held tool, featuring several tiny needles in a row to deposit dye into the dermal second layer of the skin. It's a cosmetic form of tattooing which puts pigment into the skin, but doesn't go as deep as a normal tattoo would. The colour should last between 12-18 months and then you should return and have a colour treatment boost, to freshen up the colours.
A consultation before any treatment is important, as this is when you will learn exactly what's involved in your chosen treatment. The process will be fully explained and they will be able to answer any questions you might have. The technician will find out what you want, and work with you to create your new look.

Are You Ready For Vaser Treatment? - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

We all have body issues and at one time or another we'll all feel insecure about the way our body looks. All around us, there are images of men and women who seemingly have no body imperfections, and although we know that these images get enhanced and airbrushed, it doesn't stop us feeling dissatisfied with our own imperfect body.

Sometimes, we wish our body was more streamlined, a bit sleeker and toned, and one way to do this, is with vaser lipo. Vaser treatment is a great way to slim and contour your body exactly the way you want and it's a gentler, more precise method than traditional liposuction, making it an ideal way to achieve your desired shape, but are you a good candidate for this procedure?

Candidates for vaser lipo treatment must consider:

*  Having relatively good health before your vaser lipo is important, and also that you don't have any illnesses or medical conditions that might stop you from healing properly after the treatment. However, if you do suffer from a particular health condition, your doctor will talk to you about your suitability for vaser lipo.

*  If you're within 30% of your goal weight, then vaser lipo is an ideal treatment for you. More than 30% then you should probably consider a different weight loss method, as vaser lipo isn't a weight reduction procedure, it's a body contouring procedure.

*  Having firm skin with good elasticity will help you to achieve the look you want, once your procedure is over. Usually, visible skin retraction takes between 2-4 weeks and gets even better over the 4-6 months following the procedure.

*  To achieve the best results, many experienced vaser doctors recommend that you start to tone your muscles before you have a procedure, as it helps if you already have good muscle tone before your vaser treatment.

Vaser Lipo treatment on the male chest before and after.
Vaser is a minimally invasive treatment and is a great way to target problem areas and sculpt the body. When faddy diets and hours exercising at the gym just won't get rid of that stubborn tummy, or give you a sleek silhouette, then it might be time to consider vaser lipo.

People choosing vaser lipo treatments should have a realistic idea of what results they want to get. At a consultation the vaser doctor will look at your fat distribution, skin, muscle tone and overall body shape, and will talk you through the procedure. The doctor will give you honest advice on what is, and what isn't achievable. So if you're in good health, have reasonable expectations about the results, if you're within 30% of your ideal weight and have firm skin with good elasticity, then you are a good candidate for vaser lipo treatment.

Anti-Ageing Botox & Filler Treatments - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

It seems that growing old gracefully is no longer an option for lots of women, and some men, and more of us are opting to get some help to slow down the signs of ageing. These days, we are always reading about celebrities having cosmetic treatments, and we find it completely acceptable. People decide they want smoother skin or plumper lips, and they see no reason to wait. There's quite a number of non-surgical anti-ageing treatments available, and the most popular of these are botox and dermal fillers.

Dr Bassi - Cosmetic doctor at Selston Cosmetic Clinic
At a free consultation at Selston Cosmetic Clinic, you and your doctor will discuss the common side effects that might happen after a treatment, and it's here that you can ask any questions you might have. The doctor will take a full assessment of your facial anatomy, discuss which parts of your face concern you and what you expect the outcome to look like, and then he will tailor a treatment plan that is specific to you.

Cosmetic injections should only be performed by medically qualified doctors, nurses or practitioners, in an appropriate sanitised medical setting, using equipment that's been sterilised. If you've never had any injectable treatments before, you might feel a bit apprehensive of needle injections and having chemicals put into your body, but it's normal to feel anxious about what to expect. It's inevitable that you will feel a mild discomfort with a needle injection, but this needle is so fine, that it even amazes those with a fear of needles at the small amount of discomfort they feel.

Anti-ageing injectable treatments help to make skin look smoother, add volume to a face that has lost its fat and give symmetry and volume to the lip area. Redness, mild swelling a bit of bruising around the injection area after your treatment is normal, and usually goes down within a couple of days.

Botox - The results of botox injections can give you a look as dramatic, or as subtle as you want, but the best results are those which leave you with a natural look that makes you look refreshed and rejuvenated, and the best results will leave you looking well rested, instead of overdone or fake. We all have different sensitivities and some of us are more tolerant to pain than others, but botox requires just a simple injection with an extremely fine needle, so most people find the experience only mildly discomforting.

Fillers - The main constituent in dermal filler is hyalauronic acid, which is a substance naturally present in the body, which gets injected into different areas on the face, to restore lost volume to enhance the cheeks, chin, lips or nose, and to treat deeper lines, wrinkles, folds and creases. To make the procedure more comfortable, anaesthetic cream can help with any discomfort. During filler treatment, the skin may become slightly red and swollen but this will tend to settle after a few hours.

Lip fillers - Nobody's lips are the same, so when discussing it with the doctor at your consultation, they will help you decide the right amount of filler needed, and which particular lip shape or size will suit your face. Applying topical anaesthetic cream before your treatment will numb the lips, making the procedure more comfortable. The procedure only takes a few minutes, and any discomfort is minimal for most people.

Prepare Yourself for Vaser Lipo Treatment - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

It goes without saying that before undergoing any cosmetic procedures, such as vaser lipo, to remove unwanted fat, you should ideally try to lose as much excess fat as you can. Healthy eating and exercising in the months before, will make sure that you get the best results possible from your treatment. At Selston Cosmetic Clinic, before you actually have vaser lipo treatment, you'll have a free consultation with Dr Bassi, when you’ll be able to talk in detail about why you want vaser, the technique he'll use, the length of recovery time and the results you want to achieve.

Dr Bassi has a portfolio of before and after photo's of previous vaser clients, so you can see for yourself the results he has achieved, and the difference it’s made for their bodies. A face-to-face consultation with the doctor who's doing your procedure will allow him to examine you, see which areas of your body that you're unhappy with, realistically discuss what results that you can expect, and work with you to get the right outcome for you and your body.

After being involved in the aesthetic industry for more than 10 years, Dr Bassi holds multiple qualifications and continues to develop his vaser lipo techniques to provide the most cutting-edge treatments.

Those considering having vaser lipo usually have a lot of questions, including:
  • How good will my results be?
  • What are the benefits and risks?
  • How well-trained is my doctor?
  • Can I see before and after photo's of my doctor's previous results?
  • Is the vaser lipo procedure painful?
  • How long does swelling and bruising last?
  • What can I expect before, during, and after a vaser lipo procedure?
  • How much does it cost?

At your consultation, Dr Bassi will give you a list of things that you're expected to do, or avoid. But there are also other things you should consider, to properly prepare yourself for vaser lipo treatment.

Prepare for your recovery time
After your treatment you'll need to arrange time off work (for a large procedure) and put off any physically demanding responsibilities until you have recovered.  During the early days of your recovery, you might need to have someone on hand to give you some help.

Medication
It's in your best interests to let the cosmetic doctor know of all tablets and supplements you're taking, because medications can interfere with your body’s blood clotting ability. So at least two weeks before your treatment you need to stop taking all forms of cold and sinus medication, vitamin E tablets, nutritional supplements, non-steroidal inflammatory medication, etc.

Smoking
It would be better to stop smoking cigarettes altogether, but if you are unable to do so, then it's advisable to quit smoking at least two months before the procedure. Smoking slows down blood flow to the skin, increasing the risk of circulation problems after treatment and this might affect your results. Smoking can cause poor wound healing, which can increase your recovery time. If you are considering vaser lipo then it would be better if you gave up smoking altogether.

Post-procedure supplies
Before your vaser procedure make sure you stock up on the necessary supplies, including pain relief medication, compression garments and bandages. If you live alone you'll need a good supply of food, toiletries etc. You don’t want to run out of supplies if there's nobody around to help replenish them.

Vaser Lipo Information - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

When you are considering vaser lipo treatment , you should always do your research and only choose a reputable cosmetic clinic with qualified doctors. You can check to see how many cosmetic procedures the doctor has performed, have a look at their before and after photo's and check them out on Internet forums, as these are a great source of information.

The Consultation
When considering vaser lipo, the first thing you should do is book a consultation to see the doctor. At Selston Cosmetic Clinic, the consultation is free, but this isn't always the case. At the consultation, your requirements and expectations will be fully discussed and we will recommend the procedure that will get you the most effective results for your body.

The consultation will involve:
  • Taking your medical history
  • Understanding your expectations and what you want from the procedure
  • If you are asking for several procedures, it's decided if we can do the treatments together, or in separate appointments
  • Discuss the range of vaser treatments: standard vaser, vaser mid def or vaser hi def
  • Evaluating skin thickness and elasticity
  • Measuring the amount of fat to remove
  • Pricing. We will discuss the costs of the procedure
  • We talk you through the vaser liposuction procedure
  • We explain about pre-op preparation, compression garments, antibiotics and post op care

Vaser Lipo before and after

Procedure
We flood the target area with local anaesthetic via very tiny and carefully made incisions. The doctor will make a couple of small cuts between the skin and the muscle layer and will then insert a small thin probe. We send the vaser ultrasound energy to the targeted areas, using very thin, solid and grooved probes. Its innovative technology respects the veins, nerves, blood vessels and surrounding tissue, so leaves them relatively intact. We deliver the energy to the fatty deposits between your skin and muscle, causing fat cells to vibrate, and this action dissolves the fat cells and simply melts the fat to liquid. The liquid fat is then drained from the body through suction.

Post op care
Choosing to have a cosmetic procedure, going through with it and paying out good money, is no use whatsoever if you don't follow the doctor's recommendations for well-needed care afterwards. Post op care is just as important as the actual procedure, and you should follow the post op instructions to the letter. With some essential after care, you can promote a speedy recovery.

MLD - Manual Lymphatic Drainage
Some swelling after a vaser lipo procedure is normal and it's highly recommended to have MLD sessions to help reduce any swelling. Body massage helps to unblock and drain the lymphatic system and accumulations of liquid that's in the body, partly as a result of the anaesthetic solution being trapped under the skin. It helps reduce, lumps and bumps, swelling and any discomfort that you might feel after vaser procedure. The massage should feel like gentle stroking and not feel uncomfortable at all.

Types of compression garments

 Surgical Compression Garments
Following a vaser procedure, patients have to wear a compression garment on the area of the body that's been treated, to aid the healing process. Keeping the area compressed, helps to minimise the chances of the skin sagging, as well as reducing the risk of unwanted creases from forming. The compression garment holds and supports the skin, giving the area the help it needs to heal naturally. By applying a consistent pressure on deep tissues, makes any chance of post-surgery complications unlikely. The length of time for wearing the compression garments is between four to six weeks, depending on which area you've had treated and this is something you will discuss with your doctor  at your appointment. When choosing a surgical compression garment for post op care, you want something that's easily removable and easy enough for you to put back on by yourself.

Information about Vaser Lipo - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Are you fed up with trying to remove fat from specific areas of your body? Maybe you have already tried different sorts of weight loss and fitness regimes, without getting your desired results. You don't have to despair though, all is not lost. These days cosmetic procedures such as vaser lipo can help you achieve the body you have dreamed of.

Vaser uses very thin, solid probes. At the start of the procedure, the area you want treated gets injected with local anaesthetic via very tiny and carefully made incisions. We then deliver the ultrasound by using vaser probes to break up and emulsify the fat. The liquefied fat gets removed by tiny vaser cannulas.

Before committing to any cosmetic procedure, there will always be worries and concerns.
The price; what will it cost?
The treatment; will it be painful?
The procedure; will it leave scars?

Vaser lipo costs will depend upon which body areas we treat and the size of the area that's being treated. At Selston Cosmetic Clinic our treatments are competitively priced, we're not the cheapest, nor the most expensive, but you'll find that our prices are very competitive and your results are never compromised. Price alone should never be the main reason when you decide the choice of clinic you choose, and we recommend you look at the results of each clinic and check out independent forums where people add their reviews, with before and after photo's. At Selston, Dr. Bassi will give you information of the vaser lipo costs of your procedure during your consultation.

What our prices include?
  • Consultation with Dr. Bassi
  • Theatre Costs
  • After care follow ups with Dr. Bassi
  • Dr and nurses fees
Additional Costs

  • Prescription Medications
  • Compression Garments
  • Post-Op MLD /Deep Tissue Massage/ Ultrasound treatments
We perform the vaser procedures under local (tumescent) anaesthesia. During vaser treatment, most patients experience minimal pain. Afterwards you might feel discomfort and this would be due to temporary post-operative swelling and bruising, which most patients find manageable with normal pain relief medication. Sedation is available on request, performed by our consultant anaesthetist, and there is an additional charge for this.

Scars with vaser lipo can occur, but they are usually minimal. The incisions made for the probes to enter are very small, making any scars, also very tiny. At Selston Cosmetic Clinic, Dr. Bassi will, when possible, make the incision into the body's natural creases, which will disguise any scars that might be left. On most people, this incision scar will completely fade or else it will become invisible over time, depending on each person's reaction to scarring.

The results of a vaser lipo procedure, when you combine it with a heathy diet with a lifestyle, are permanent and can last a lifetime.

Before & After Vaser Lipo on Outer Thighs - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

It's so annoying thinking that most of your body is in good shape, but frustratingly you have a certain part of it that you just hate. And no matter how much dieting and exercise you do, you can't get that one bit looking right.

Fat accumulates in different places on men and women. Men tend to store excess fat around their flanks, abdomen and breasts. Women, however, often accumulate fat around the buttocks, hips, thighs, knees and lower abdomen. The good news is that Vaser Lipo can treat all of these areas.

Every year, both women and men have Vaser Lipo treatment to achieve a variety of goals. Whether it's to look better in a swimsuit, to wear clothes that fit more comfortably or just for their own self-confidence in their body image. For men, Vaser Liposuction can also successfully treat gynecomastia, also known as man boobs.

At the Selston Cosmetic Clinic we perform the Vaser Lipo procedure regularly with satisfying results, as you'll see if you check out the before and after photo's on our website. Vaser Lipo is best suited for small to medium volumes of fat removal and it's performed under a local anaesthetic. We make tiny incisions in the treatment area, insert the probe and ultrasound energy is directed into the fat cells. We then use a suction device, to gently remove the emulsified fat cells, creating the naturally beautiful contours you expect from a Vaser procedure.

Before Vaser Lipo

This lovely woman had Vaser Lipo of the outer thighs. Her legs were a little chunky and she was aware that one of her outer thighs was uneven and not as smooth as the other. She was looking forward to wearing summer dresses and was afraid that the fabric would cling in the wrong places and show off her less than smooth silhouette.

Three weeks after Lipo and you can see a smoother silhouette.

So Dr. Bassi worked his magic and she was left with symmetrical legs and a smoother silhouette. Just three weeks later and the client was delighted with the early results. As well as giving her a big confidence boost, she said it had already made a huge difference to how her clothes fitted her!

Though you can see a difference straight after the Vaser Lipo procedure, the result is likely to improve with time and healing of the treated area. After a period of about three to four months you will see the final results of the procedure, providing you with a natural-looking result.

Vaser Lipo is an advanced body contouring procedure and it's a great way to sculpt and reshape your body. All our clients are fully counselled to make sure they understand what can be achieved with their procedure, and if the results turn out better than originally thought .. everybody is happy!

When having the Vaser Lipo procedure, it's important to know what’s realistic for you, and for your body shape. It really does depend on what will suit you, and not just to copy this seasons current body trend.

What To Expect From a Vaser Lipo Procedure - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Deciding to have Vaser Lipo is not something that's taken lightly by most people, because after all, it's a big decision. The Vaser Lipo procedure can be used on most parts of the body, from small places like the chin or larger areas, such as the back and the abdomen. VASER stands for Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance, and it uses ultrasound technology to break down fat cells.

Vaser Lipo is used on body areas such as:

Abdomen.
Hips.
Chin.
Arms.
Inner thighs.
Outer thighs.
Buttocks.
Embarrassing male breasts (Man boobs).
Love handles / Flanks.

Chin - before and after

During a free consultation at Selston Cosmetic Clinic with Dr. Bassi, you can discuss the area that you want treated, and he will give you all the details of what the procedure involves, what results you can expect afterwards and what post-operative care you will need.  He will answer all the questions you have, and if you decide that Vaser treatment is for you, you can book an appointment for your procedure.

Male breasts - Moobs

On the day of the procedure, over the counter painkillers can be taken beforehand if needed, and if it's a big area being treated or your pain threshold is low, maybe something stronger can be taken - this can be discussed with Dr. Bassi during the initial consultation.

Once the patient is on the bed and covered in sterile sheets, the procedure begins. The treatment area is injected with a saline and local anaesthetic solution, which numbs the site and shrinks the blood vessels which will minimise any blood loss and will reduce the risk of bruising. The fluid injected will make the area expand in volume temporarily, making it easier to break up fatty tissue with the Vaser Lipo's ultrasound energy.

Dr. Bassi will make a couple of small cuts between the skin and the muscle layer and will then insert a small thin probe. The ultrasound transmits waves of high frequency through this probe and this loosens and liquefies the fat cells on contact, without harming the surrounding connective tissues, vessels, and nerves. A gentle suction process then removes the liquefied fat. After this, Dr. Bassi also uses a probe which tightens the skin. Results will be immediate and once the swelling and bruising has subsided, you will get a clear indication of your new contours. There will then be a gradual and continual improvement and at about six months you will be able to see your final shape.

Afterwards, there will be some leakage from the small incisions, as some of the saline fluid will still be in the body after the procedure, and although this will eventually be eliminated by the Lymphatic System, we will show you how to massage the area to eliminate the liquid.

After Vaser Lipo, MLD (Manual Lymphatic Drainage) massage helps to unblock and drain damaged areas, preventing fluid becoming trapped. The size of the area treated will dictate how many sessions you will need. Selston Cosmetic Clinic has now performed over 1500 cosmetic procedures and a considerable number of these clients have had their post op care with our clinic. Post op care involves ultrasound therapy, MLD massage/deep tissue massage. Treatment area's that are small can be massaged by the patient themselves at home.

Directly after Vaser treatment and during post-operative recovery, the patient has to wear a compression garment, which promotes faster healing. This garment is a tight-fitting fabric, rather like spanx, and is worn over the treated area, which helps reduce the swelling of the surrounding area. This compression garment is worn for 4-6 weeks (the doctor will recommend a time frame) and this will help the skin contract and achieve proper contours. Although wearing the compression garment can feel uncomfortable, it will make sure that your Vaser Lipo results are the best possible.

It's important to have realistic expectations about the results you'll get from Vaser and what you would like to achieve. Dr Bassi has vast experience in Vaser Lipo, and he has continuously performed this procedure many hundreds of times since it's arrival to the UK in 2008. If you are fit and well within or close to your BMI, have skin that is still elastic, then you will reap the rewards from Vaser Lipo.

Anti-Ageing Methods and Dermal Fillers - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

There are many things we can do as we age, to help keep us looking younger. The anti-ageing methods we use, fall somewhere between wrinkle cream and a face-lift... and let's face it, we'll try anything!

Creams and Serum
The makers of anti-ageing creams claim to be able to give you a face several decades younger, but which ones do we choose? The vast range of face creams, gels and serums that promise to keep us looking younger, are mind-blowing, especially the choice; anti-wrinkle, de-creasing, radiance, anti-ageing, age-defying, plumping up, mega-hydrating ... and on, and on. When using skin care products, there are certain ingredients you should look for;
Matrixyl - This skin-perfecting peptide stimulates collagen, restores elasticity and encourages skin repair.
Pro-Vitamin B5 - This ingredient can attract and hold on to moisture, leaving the skin supple and hydrated.
Retinol - this works by stimulating collagen production and increasing the turnover of skin cells.
Vitamin E - is moisturising, anti-inflammatory and can protect skin against sun damage.
Vitamin C - can help reduce inflammation, reverse sun damage and boost collagen production.
Sunscreen - A moisturiser with SPF 25 or higher is the best defence against wrinkles, dullness, brown spots and the loss of firmness.

Fake Tan
Get yourself a healthy glow. We all know that "real" sunbathing is ageing for the skin, but a subtle tan obtained by using either self tanning lotions and wipes, spray or fake tan, will give you a boost of confidence. Alternatively, a tinted moisturiser will give the skin a nice glow. There is no denying that tanned skin makes you look and feel younger, thinner and more beautiful.

Teeth Whitening
Nothing is more rejuvenating than a beautiful, white smile. It’s astounding how many years a decent smile can take off your face. People with stained and dull teeth tend not to smile because they are uncomfortable or embarrassed about their teeth. According to a recent study, having whiter teeth makes you look more successful, more employable, more attractive and at least five years younger.

Haircut and Colour
A good haircut can make you look ten years younger. We've all seen the make-over programmes on TV, where a new cut and colour instantly turns a frumpy mother into a yummy mummy! Every five years you need to reinvent yourself, not drastic major changes, just little tweaks. You can have the same basic hairstyle forever, but you do need to change it up a bit. There are plenty of changes you can make to instantly take years off your look. Maybe changing your parting, adding layers, having a fringe cut in or by choosing softer-coloured hair highlights.

Dermal Fillers
Fillers will add volume to the face by filling in the wrinkles and lines, and sometimes by plumping up areas of the face, giving your face a younger look. Area's like the cheeks, under-eye area and temples, that over time have lost volume, causing the skin to sink and sag are ideal places to fill. Small amounts of dermal filler get directly injected into the skin using a fine needle. No recovery time is needed after dermal filler treatment and you can return to usual activities straight away. Some slight swelling or bruising might be experienced at the injection area, but this doesn't usually last longer than 48 hours. Your doctor will discuss your recovery and what to expect when you attend your appointment.

Plump up your Smile Using Dermal Fillers for Lip Enhancements - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Your smile can lighten up your face and every time you speak your lips attract attention, so it's important that you love the way they look. Full and defined lips are synonymous with youthfulness, but as time goes by, the lips are an area that can give tell-tale signs of the fact that time is marching on!

Lip Enhancement and augmentations are an effective way to re-define the contours of the lips, providing balance and volume. Whether your lips have lost volume and become thinner as you've aged or whether you've always coveted full, sensuous lips, then a lip augmentation procedure can contour your lips,  helping you look younger and feel more attractive. The procedure also reduces the thin, fine wrinkles in and around the lips that make smiles look old.

Lips should be proportional and the guideline for the ideal lips suggests that the upper lip should be about 40% of the total height of the lips, and the bottom lip should be about 60%.

The time to consider lip enhancement should be when:
  • You've always had thin lips and they tend to disappear when you smile.
  • With age, your lips have become thinner and have lost some volume.
  • You feel self-conscious about the look of your lips.
  • You want to restore youthful contours and redefine the borders of your lips.
  • Having fuller lips will help to balance out your face.
As we get older, our lips lose their plumpness and start to look thinner. Sometimes, having a small procedure can make all the difference. Just having your lips augmented slightly can make you appear years younger, without it being obvious that you have had anything done. People choose to have their lips enhanced for all sorts of different reasons. Sometimes the lips that we were born with are not as full as we would like, or maybe they have lost their fullness thanks to the passage of time.
As we age we lose natural substances such as collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, which give the mouth area and lips structure and volume.

Loss of these leads to:
  • Loss of definition of the lip's border.
  • Loss of volume and flattening of the lip.
  • Loss of hydration of the lip tissue.
  • Development of lipstick and smoker's lines.
  • Droopy mouth corners.

At the Selston Cosmetic Clinic we can give you back the outline and definition that your lips have lost over time. You can get back youthful lips by having specialised lip fillers, which are hyaluronic acid based. This substance is naturally found in the body.

The benefits of using hyaluronic acid fillers include:
  • The amount of filler injected can be controlled, so there is better control over how much lip volume is created.
  • The injections can be given gradually during different appointments until the desired lip volume results are achieved.
  • Any lumps and bumps can be dissolved easily.
  • There may be less bruising and swelling compared to other dermal fillers.
  • The results are reasonably long-lasting, but not permanent.
  • Because hyaluronic acid is found naturally in the body, it's unlikely to cause an allergic reaction.

Removing Moles From The Face & Body Using Radio Frequency - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

While personally you might despise them, and have a big desire to look for removal options, just remember that these little spots are what make you standout from the crowd. Moles, when small and neat are often regarded as ‘beauty spots’ when found on the face. Celebrities famous for their moles include Marilyn Monroe, Cindy Crawford and Eva Mendes and their moles seem to add to their beauty and allure. On the other hand, there are those other famous faces who opted to have theirs removed : Enrique Iglesias, Sarah Jessica Parker and Madonna!

Moles that are highly noticeable on the body or face can affect self-confidence and cause embarrassment for the sufferer. If they restrict movement, or are overly large, then this can sometimes result in pain and distress. Larger moles, besides being a potential health risk, can be unflattering and cause irritation when rubbed against clothes or during shaving.

Moles can appear anywhere on the skin, especially on the face, arms and neck and can vary in size, shape and colour. Some moles are flat, while others can have a raised appearance and although most moles are harmless, it is important to make sure that a doctor examines any mole that changes colour or shape or starts to irritate, as these symptoms could be signs of something more serious.

Moles are very common, with 1 in every 100 babies being born with one or more, although more moles can develop later on. They are often a brownish colour, although they can also be darker or skin-coloured. Moles have a smooth edge and are usually circular or oval in shape and some have hair growing from them.

Moles can increase in number and change in appearance. Sometimes, over time moles fade away, often unnoticed. They can also respond to hormonal changes :
  • Pregnancy - doesn't usually lead to the creation of more moles, but existing moles may get slightly darker in colour.
  • Teenage years - there are a lot of hormonal changes that tend to occur when a person hits their teens. During the teen years the incidence of moles will be the greatest, when they may increase in number.
  • Older age - they may disappear from 40 to 50 years of age onwards.
  • Sunlight - prolonged exposure to sunlight can trigger the formation of moles. Moles triggered by sunlight are more likely to turn into melanoma, or skin cancer.

The vast majority of moles just sit on your body and they cause no harm whatsoever, that being said, many people choose to get rid of their moles for purely aesthetic reasons. Mole removal treatment is one of the simplest procedures in cosmetic surgery and at the Selston Cosmetic Clinic the preferred method is radio frequency as it is ideal for facial moles.
At the mole removal consultation
  • A clinical history will be taken by our experienced cosmetic physician and GP, Dr. Bassi.
  • The lesion will be examined and if required the mole will be analysed using a state of the art skin scanner system.
  • The method of mole removal will be recommended and discussed.
  • If clinically it is deemed necessary, the mole can be excised and sent for histology.
Mole removal is a relatively quick and simple surgical procedure, where we use state of the art technology that produces radio waves which instantly vaporises the mole, and results in much less scarring. The mole can be removed under local anaesthetic, which means that the affected skin area will be completely numb but you stay awake.
The most you are likely to experience is a possible scab following the removal and some potential redness, which could last up to four weeks at the most. The procedure itself usually takes no longer than twenty minutes. The removal of moles is a very common procedure requiring little recovery time.
The consultation is free and our treatments cost £150 for the first mole and £75 for subsequent moles.
