Laser Treatment to Treat Acne Scarring - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Certain skin conditions, such as acne and pimples, injuries from accidents, surgery or medical conditions such as chickenpox or measles can cause scarring on the skin. There are different types of acne scars, ranging from mild to severe but it's the scars that sit on the surface of the skin can affect our self-esteem, especially when they are in a place that's visible to others.

Prevention is always better than a cure, so to help keep the skin healthy and glowing:
  • Drink plenty of water. Many recommend drinking eight glasses of water a day.
  • Always wear sun screen. The sun rays are powerful and the skin can dry out without proper protection.
  • Wash your face twice a day.
  • Don't over exfoliate your skin. Twice a week is plenty.

Most of us, will at some time in our life suffer from spots, and for many of us it's just a part of life due to; puberty, hormones, stress or diet, and thankfully for most of us these acne outbreaks disappear as we grow older. Acne occurs in both sexes and usually begins at puberty and tends to be worse in those with oily skin. Scarring can result from untreated acne, or any condition that causes a rash, such as chickenpox, where it's likely you will scratch or pick at the affected areas.

There are various types of acne scars:
  • Atrophic scars - they form a depression or sunken area. These scars are caused by acne, chickenpox, surgery and accidents.
  • Boxcar scars - these scars have steep, defined edges and resemble chicken pox scars.
  • Ice pick scars - are deep pits that are usually less than 2mm across, giving the skin an appearance of having been punctured.
  • Rolling scars - they can either be broad depressions or shallow indention in the skin, and they have rounded, sloping edges.
  • Hypertrophic scars - these are raised and lumpy, tending to appear on the back and chest, but can also appear on the neck and face. They may decrease in size over time.

Powerful fractional laser technology reduces the look of scars without harming surrounding skin. The gentle lasers reach deep down to the collagen level of the skin, and the precise therapeutic laser energy stimulates the production of collagen and elastin fibres. This dramatically improves the appearance of acne scars.

Scarring is a natural part of the healing process and certain cosmetic procedures, used on their own or combined, can even out the skin's surface.
  • Acne Scar Laser Treatment
  • Medical Microdermabrasion
  • Skin Resurfacing/Skin Needling
  • SmartXide Co2 Fractional Laser
  • Chemical Skin Peel

Information about Vaser Lipo - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Are you fed up with trying to remove fat from specific areas of your body? Maybe you have already tried different sorts of weight loss and fitness regimes, without getting your desired results. You don't have to despair though, all is not lost. These days cosmetic procedures such as vaser lipo can help you achieve the body you have dreamed of.

Vaser uses very thin, solid probes. At the start of the procedure, the area you want treated gets injected with local anaesthetic via very tiny and carefully made incisions. We then deliver the ultrasound by using vaser probes to break up and emulsify the fat. The liquefied fat gets removed by tiny vaser cannulas.

Before committing to any cosmetic procedure, there will always be worries and concerns.
The price; what will it cost?
The treatment; will it be painful?
The procedure; will it leave scars?

Vaser lipo costs will depend upon which body areas we treat and the size of the area that's being treated. At Selston Cosmetic Clinic our treatments are competitively priced, we're not the cheapest, nor the most expensive, but you'll find that our prices are very competitive and your results are never compromised. Price alone should never be the main reason when you decide the choice of clinic you choose, and we recommend you look at the results of each clinic and check out independent forums where people add their reviews, with before and after photo's. At Selston, Dr. Bassi will give you information of the vaser lipo costs of your procedure during your consultation.

What our prices include?
  • Consultation with Dr. Bassi
  • Theatre Costs
  • After care follow ups with Dr. Bassi
  • Dr and nurses fees
Additional Costs

  • Prescription Medications
  • Compression Garments
  • Post-Op MLD /Deep Tissue Massage/ Ultrasound treatments
We perform the vaser procedures under local (tumescent) anaesthesia. During vaser treatment, most patients experience minimal pain. Afterwards you might feel discomfort and this would be due to temporary post-operative swelling and bruising, which most patients find manageable with normal pain relief medication. Sedation is available on request, performed by our consultant anaesthetist, and there is an additional charge for this.

Scars with vaser lipo can occur, but they are usually minimal. The incisions made for the probes to enter are very small, making any scars, also very tiny. At Selston Cosmetic Clinic, Dr. Bassi will, when possible, make the incision into the body's natural creases, which will disguise any scars that might be left. On most people, this incision scar will completely fade or else it will become invisible over time, depending on each person's reaction to scarring.

The results of a vaser lipo procedure, when you combine it with a heathy diet with a lifestyle, are permanent and can last a lifetime.

The Miracle of Macrolane - Breast Augmentation without the Knife

Many women are dissatisfied with the shape, size or positioning of their breasts, this is especially true for many women after breast feeding a child, this is when the breasts have a tendency to drop and droop, just what you don't need along with the stretch marks!

For quite a few years the only way for a woman to regain her original shaped breasts or increase their size was to undergo full breast surgery, this could often leave the patient sore, bruised and very tender for weeks, not to mention the scar from the surgical incision.

I am happy to say that there is a non surgical alternative, Macrolane.

Macrolane breast enhancement injections are made from the same substances that your body uses to maintain skin turgor – hyalauronic acid, so you can easily achieve a firmer fuller breast.

The beauty of these injections is not only the wonderfully natural looking results, but they do not affect mammograms so you can still attend any routine breast screenings without any problems.

For those ladies who do not wish for the world to know they have had to have a breast augmentation, macrolane is a solution. The actual procedure takes about 45 minutes, after this you are back to your normal daily routine, so it's ideal, you can arrange an appointment and have the treatment, then spend the afternoon shopping, there is no need to book weeks off work while you recover, unlike the surgical options.

The only thing you need to worry about is what size bra to take with you to the clinic, after all you will be coming out with larger, firmer breasts than when you went in, so your old bra won't fit!
