Vaser Away Chin Fat For a Better Facial Profile - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Usually, the only problem we might have with our chin is the occasional spot, but sometimes we have to face facts, and admit that somewhere along the way we have acquired a double chin. There are times when you're having a great time on holiday, at a party or out with friends and the cameras are clicking, but when you actually see the photographs you find yourself shocked at the lack of definition of your neck and chin.

Defining the jaw-line is one of the best ways to stay looking youthful. A well-defined jaw does more than just enhance our profile, it also takes years off the face, which can only be a good thing. As we get older our skin will lose elasticity, the muscles will lose tone and stretch, and the fatty tissues in the face will lose volume. All these changes can cause the skin to sag, and it will become most noticeable in the chin, jowl and neck area, as it's the fatty deposits under the chin that can give a 'double chin' effect.

Vaser lipo treatment is one of the gentlest and most powerful form of liposuction available today and it can quickly rectify the problems we have with our jaw-lines and chins. One of the biggest benefits of having vaser lipo on the chin and neck area is the massive improvement to your profile. As well as reducing fat cells, the unique selling point of vaser lipo over other procedures, is that the ultrasound energy achieves a degree of skin tightening, which is particularly effective in this area.

At Selston Cosmetic Clinic we use local anaesthetic during the vaser procedure, making it almost painless. Vaser lipo breaks up fat with ultrasound energy. The vaser probes that deliver the energy are very thin, solid and have grooves. Heating up the connective tissues means they tighten up and collagen production is also stimulated, so over time there will be a continuing improvement. Vaser ultrasound energy only dissolves the fat cells and simply bounces off other structures such as nerves, blood vessels and connective tissue, which are left undisturbed, giving great results.

The vaser lipo procedure takes less than an hour and although results are noticeable straight away, they will improve with time. It's a simple procedure and usually the client is in and out of the clinic within hours. Vaser also gives you 33% skin tightening, so you will end up with a tighter, more defined look, making you look years younger.

Dermal Filler Restores Volume in Ageing Hands - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

As we get older, it's our hands that are one of the first areas that tend to show signs of ageing more than other parts of the body. Dry skin, wrinkles and sunspots on the hands are a dead giveaway about our age.

We use our hands all day, every day, whether it's housework, gardening or daily exposure to the weather. The sun, wind and rain, over the years, can cause our hands to become scaly, sun-damaged, wrinkled and veiny, and this all makes them look older than they are.

The hands, face and neck are the most visible areas of the body that are unclothed. People tend to concentrate their beauty regime on their face, using the best moisturisers, anti-ageing serums, sun-creams and make-up to help keep it looking as youthful as possible for as long as possible. The hands however, tend to be overlooked.

Over time the hands lose volume, fat and elasticity and become translucent and wrinkly and this results in the veins, tendons and bony structures becoming more apparent.

Before and after
There are many signs of ageing on the hands:
  • Age / Sun spots - We get pigmentation spots on the hands after years of exposure to the sun and without prevention they will multiply, so when you're applying sun cream, don't forget to rub it into your hands.
  • Prominent veins - Loss of volume that occurs with ageing will leave the hands thinner and bony, and this will make the veins more prominent.
  • Dry skin -  As with the face, a dry, dull complexion will make your hands look older than they are, so putting on an emollient-rich hand cream will help to improve the skin. Always use a hand moisturiser on the hands as dry skin can make the skin look wrinkly.
  • Crepey skin - As we get older, the body produces less collagen. When the hands lose collagen, the skin on the hands gets thinner and starts to look dry and crumpled. UV light also results in collagen damage.
Exposure to the sun can quickly age your hands, but the bigger problem is volume loss. Dermal fillers will restore lost volume and plump up bony hands, making prominent veins look less obvious. A topical anesthetic gets applied before treatment and most dermal fillers contain anesthetic which makes the procedure much less painful and then dermal fillers are delicately inserted through small cannulas. The quality and texture of your skin improves with dermal filler treatment and decreases wrinkles and prominent veins.

Acheive Younger Smoother Skin With Dermal Fillers - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Our skin is one of our best assets when it comes to beauty. A healthy taut skin, equals a younger-looking appearance and when we're young, our skin is more elastic and resilient, which is mostly thanks to collagen. Collagen keeps the skin intact and hydrated which makes it elastic, but as we age, the skin weakens and loses the elasticity. This affects your facial expressions, and you'll find that the skin will sag, and it will develop wrinkles and frown-lines.

Before & after dermal filler treatment for tear troughs

A lot of the visible signs of ageing is down to volume loss. When facial tissues lose volume, the cheeks start to look hollow and lines can become etched around the nose and mouth. As we mature, we naturally lose subcutaneous fat in our faces, making our smile lines, frown lines and crow’s feet become more apparent as the facial muscles are working closer to the skin's surface.

Dermal fillers work by boosting the skin’s own supply of hyaluronic acid. Dermal fillers revitalise and add volume to the skin, instantly diminishing the lines and wrinkles and giving a softer natural look. Dermal fillers are a soft injectable gel, consisting of hyaluronic acid which is tissue-friendly and closely resembles the hyaluronic acid that exists naturally in the body. It's long-lasting but not permanent.

We use Dermal fillers to:
  • Diminish vertical lip lines
  • Fill in hollow tear troughs
  • Enhance & restore volume to sunken cheeks
  • Plump & enhance the lips
  • Soften facial wrinkles
  • Plump out facial creases

We inject the filler into the skin in tiny amounts, with a very fine needle. The gel filler produces volume under the skin, lifting up the wrinkles or folds, which results in smooth looking skin. The treatment is quick and easy, and the actual procedure takes around 20 - 60 minutes, depending on the treatment required. Straight after your treatment, you will have slight redness, mild swelling and tenderness, but these effects are temporary.

Beautiful Natural Looking Enhanced Lips at Selston Cosmetic Clinic - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

You might have tried to get the perfect pout using lipstick or lip gloss, but if you want a longer lasting result, then dermal fillers could be the solution. Lip fillers have become a popular way of enhancing the lips, so whether full lips or a more subtle, natural look is your goal, we can help you achieve it. Fillers are also used to compensate for the ageing process and correcting the smoker's lines around the mouth. Lip augmentation treatment can give your lips the outline and definition that time has destroyed.

A lip enhancement is a cosmetic procedure which adds more volume and substance to the lip, which will give you fuller, plumper and more defined lips.

Results include improving:
Vermilion border - which gives the outline and improves definition and minimizes lip bleed.
The upper and lower lip - injections will give more volume and substance to the lip.
Cupid bow - defining the cupid bow gives female lips a balance.
Philtrum ridges - inserting filler enhances and defines the features of the lips.

The thought of having dermal fillers in the lips can sometimes make people nervous, with visions of ending up with massively inflated lips, but this isn't the reality. A reputable clinic will always discuss what you do, and what you don't want at your consultation. At Selston Cosmetic Clinic, Dr Bassi, is our fully trained, very experienced, specialist cosmetic Doctor with over 10 years experience in injectable treatments. His ultimate aim is that all of his clients look and feel their very best.

Dermal fillers are ideal for lip plumping as:
  • The fillers are uniquely formulated to give your lips fullness and definition
The injections are completely controlled, and you can decide if you want a subtle, dramatic, or in-between look
  • They provide natural looking results with just one treatment
  • Lip Injections allow you to correct unbalanced or uneven lips

The nice thing about lip fillers is how quickly you will notice the difference, the results are almost immediate. Following the injections, you may have some swelling, but once it wears down, the effects of the fillers are easy to see and you won't have to wait weeks to see your new lips. Lip filler treatments get excellent results and last a considerable amount of time, but they aren't permanent and will need to be repeated.

Whether the aim is to restore lost-volume from the ageing process or to augment the lips for cosmetic reasons, Dr Bassi will use his skill and experience to advise what will best suit your face.

Non-Surgical Nose Job Using Dermal Fillers - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

When you aren't happy with the shape of your nose it can cause self-esteem issues. If your nose isn't straight, or you've got a prominent bump or a dip, and the thought of having photographs taken with your nose in profile fills you with dread, we at Selston Cosmetic Clinic can help.

With surgical rhinoplasty, the procedure may include shaving the bone down, breaking and re-setting it or rectifying breathing problems, and will result in swelling and bruises and you'll most likely have to wear dressings afterwards. Cosmetic procedures are much simpler, but they do have limitations on what's achievable. Dermal fillers are great for those who want small refinements and don't want to go through with the risks of surgery, the pain or the longer recovery time.

A non-surgical nose job can transform your nose in 30 minutes. It's a pain-free procedure, there's anaesthetic actually in the dermal filler. Just after the injections you'll have to take care as the filler is quite malleable. The doctor can compress and mould it, allowing him to make your nose the perfect shape for your face.

Nose jobs using dermal filler are temporary and last about 18 months. However, although the filler does wear off over time, what's left is the body's natural reaction to the filler, which is collagen and this will remain in the body. The volume from the filler will go, but the collagen it creates will stay and eventually you will need a top-up.

The benefits:
  • It gives immediate results
  • No scars or long recovery
  • Injections are pain-free
  • You can go straight back to normal activities
  • You're able to wear make up straight after treatment
  • No surgery, no anaesthetic

Most peoples gripes about their noses are that they look unbalanced, the contours are slightly extenuated or there's a prominent bump. Although putting filler into the nose is technically making the nose ever so slightly bigger, once it's straightened and balanced out, the result will give your face a more beautiful, balanced, and even look.

Dermal filler nose jobs are ideal if you have a big event coming up where you want to feel confident and look your best. Maybe a wedding, birthday party or a family photograph, where lots of photos get taken and the image will be seen by all, for years to come. We all want to look the best we can in photos, and this will also give us much more self-confidence.

Define Your Lips and Add Volume With Dermal Fillers - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

One of the first things women tend to rectify, when the face starts to show signs of ageing, is the lips. Over the years, lips lose their definition and volume and become thinner. At Selston Cosmetic Clinic, along with botox, lip augmentation is one of one of the most often requested treatments and has become popular with a wide age range.

Lots of women are looking for fuller and more sensuous lips and we can create these by using dermal fillers. Having a simple, safe dermal filler treatment will add volume and definition to thin lips, both of which we can lose as we grow older. As well as this, the treatment can also balance out uneven  lips and reduce the look of fine, vertical lines around the mouth.

Why get lip enhancements?
  • To add more volume, to achieve fuller, plumper lips.
  • To balance out lopsided or asymmetrical lips.
  • Add volume to small, thin or flat lips.
  • To give volume to either a thin lower or upper lip.
  • Enhancing the shape and definition of the lips.
At your first consultation, Dr Bassi at Selston Cosmetic Clinic will discuss your expectations, and which filler he will use to meet your requirements. Dr Bassi is a fully trained cosmetic practitioner, trained in advanced filler techniques, and he pays skilful attention to the shape of the lips, and not just to the size. As no two faces are the same, he tailors his treatment to each individual patient, helping them look and feel their best. We find that most of our clients want a natural looking lip enhancement and it's important that only use soft natural fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm.

Areas we can help:
  • Vermilion border or lip outline - we can create definition and width.
  • Improve smoker's lines around the mouth, which causes lipstick bleeding lines.
  • Upper and lower lip - for volume and fullness.
  • Definition of the cupids bow - adds definition and contouring.
The dermal filler we use are hyaluronic acid based, which is a substance naturally occurring in the body and allergic reactions with these fillers are rare. The day after the procedure the lips may swell slightly, so it's always a good idea to have the procedure at the weekend when you have a couple of days off.

Side effects are temporary and resolve within a few days:
  • Swelling
  • Bruising
  • Redness
  • Lumpiness -  you can use gentle massage and it will settle down within a couple of days.

Dermal Fillers for Younger Looking Skin - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Dermal fillers are a non-surgical treatment, used to plump up depressions in the skin. The main reason for depressions in the skin are wrinkles, lines and loss of volume caused by the ageing process. As we age, it's well-known that the skin loses its smoothness, and this happens because the body's natural levels of collagen reduce with age. This causes the skin loses its shape and firmness, which is a problem that dermal fillers can rectify.

Here are a few examples of the use of dermal fillers:
  • Achieve greater volume or fuller appearance with lip augmentation.
  • Fill in hollow cheek bones to give you a younger appearance.
  • Tear trough treatment gives a natural filled out appearance, correcting the hollowed eye look.
  • Lip Enhancement gives your lips better definition and reduces lipstick bleed.

Although there are many different types of fillers available, the dermal fillers we use at Selston Cosmetic Clinic are hyaluronic acid based fillers or a calcium hydroxylapatite filler (Radiesse). Dermal fillers should not be confused with Botox, as although both procedures involve injections, Botox gets injected around the forehead and wrinkles around the eyes to stop muscle movement that results in wrinkles, fillers are used for facial volumisation, which involves placing the fillers in strategic places to lift the cheeks and jowls, give volume to the lips and fill deep lines, improving your looks, enhancing your profile and leaving your face with a natural expression.

The brand names of the hyaluronic acid based fillers are:
  • Restylane range
  • Juvederm Ultra
  • Teosyal Kiss and
  • Radiesse, which is a calcium hydroxylapatite based filler.

At the Selston Cosmetic Clinic, this woman had dermal filler treatment on the nasolabial folds (or "smile grooves") which are the deep folds running down from the nose to the mouth, that become more prominent as we age.

The results are amazing, leaving her overjoyed at the difference!

Benefits
  • A non-invasive treatment with little downtime, so you can return to normal activities straight away
  • Reduction of lines and wrinkles to give a more youthful looking appearance
  • Will replenish lost volume for a softer more younger look
  • Long lasting results
Dermal fillers work by plumping up the treated area and making it level with the rest of the skin, filling out any depressed areas such as wrinkles or sunken cheeks. A very fine needle injects the filler into the treatment area, which adds more structure and firmness to the face. Most people report only a slight discomfort when the dermal fillers get injected, so the treatment usually doesn’t require an anaesthetic and you can go straight back to your normal activities. The results are usually seen instantly and will last for around six to eight months.

Cheek Lift for High Cheeks & Facial Volume - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Spring is the time for renewal and change, which makes it the best time to sort out your facial issues. Full cheeks and high cheekbones are one of the signs of a youthful face, so, after a long winter, how nice would it be to look and feel refreshed by restoring the face's lost volume. Sagging and sunken cheeks can have a huge impact on the rest of the face. Over time everything seems to shift downwards and the face can start to look permanently drawn, unhappy and tired.

Cheeks and cheekbones are an important part of facial beauty, as defined cheeks create balance, improve the profile, and give a youthful impression. Some people lose facial volume with age, while others have never had contoured cheeks, but both would like to achieve fullness and a lift to the cheeks to give a more youthful appearance.

It's a fact that in our youth our cheeks are rounder, smoother and have more volume. The reason for this is down to collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid in the skin, as well as fat within the facial contours. These elements are lost as we grow older which means we lose the high cheeked look. With ageing our cheek bones look less pronounced and after the age of 30 the skin can lose 1% of its collagen and thickness. Dramatic weight loss, extensive exercising, stress and illness can all contribute to loss of fat in the face, leaving us with a gaunt, hollow-cheeked look.

One way to improve the structure of the face is by using dermal fillers as they are a great way to help restore volume. A cheek lift procedure involves injecting a dermal filler into the cheeks to replace lost volume, plump up the cheeks and help to lose the gaunt look that ageing brings about. Lifting the cheeks can give dramatic results, achieving a more youthful appearance, but doing so in a subtle way that makes it hard for others to put their finger on exactly what you've done that is different!

The ageing process can result in our upper cheeks becoming flat and saggy and it's the correction of these with dermal fillers which gives you a 'cheek lift' . This treatment instantly restores your face, giving it a youthful appearance by plumping up the apples of the cheeks and sculpting the cheek bones. Cheek enhancement is one of the most common treatments requested at the Selston Cosmetic Clinic and we have many clients returning for repeat treatments.

With over 10 years experience as a specialist cosmetic practitioner, Dr Bassi has performed thousands of injectable treatments and tailors his facial filler and remodelling treatment to each patient, to help them look and feel their best. A local anaesthetic is used to numb the area and the procedure takes about 20-30 minutes and you can go back to work the following day. The results are immediate and last between 9-12 months.

Call the Selston Cosmetic Clinic for a free consultation and we will help you retrieve that lost volume, after all, plump, full, high cheeks are the hallmark of a beautiful face.

Liquid Facelift at Selston - Before & After Photo's - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Ageing, is unfortunately inevitable. As we get older, fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging facial skin begins to develop and we tend to lose volume in our face.

Many think facelift surgery is the solution to correct these effects of facial ageing. However, there is another option, and instead of going under the knife for a surgical facelift, many people might get fantastic results from a non-surgical procedure such as the liquid facelift.

After the treatment and WOW! What a difference!
Before the liquid facelift

A liquid facelift, also known as an injectable facelift, is where Botox is injected to freshen up the face by softening lines and wrinkles. Strategically placed, Botox can also give you an eye lift. Dermal Filler such as Radiesse is injected to volumise the face, giving it an instant result, like a mini facelift.

Botox and filler can be injected into the temples, lower eyelids, cheeks and jaw-line to create more youthful facial contours. The filler gives volumisation to areas that have sagged, and signs of ageing such as fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging jowls will diminish, and the procedure can take five to seven years off of your facial appearance. Local anaesthetic is used on the face, meaning any pain is minimal and unlike a surgical facelift, patients can go back to work the following day.

At the Selston Cosmetic Clinic we are performing many liquid facelifts using Radiesse dermal filler and Botox. Liquid facelifts are becoming extremely popular at Selston and you can be in and out within an hour having had a facelift without the need of a scalpel! As the before and after photo's show, we are getting fantastic results!

After
Before

The best candidates for the liquid facelift treatment are those who would like to rejuvenate and refresh their face, making it appear more youthful. It's ideal for those who have lost volume to the face especially in the cheek and mouth areas. With precision placement of the dermal filler to give tissue support and volume to areas which have sagged, along with strategic use of Botox to erase the fine lines......you can achieve realistic goals of a refreshed younger looking face.

A non surgical liquid facelift involves:
  • No stitches or cuts, so no bleeding
  • Downtime - 1 day
  • Affordability
  • Procedure time - 20 - 30 minutes
  • Back To Work - Next Day
  • Duration Of Results - up to 12 Months
  • Anaesthetic - Local
  • Results Seen - Immediate

The use of Radiesse and Botox to achieve a liquid facelift is really phenomenal! It is amazing to see the difference a few syringes of dermal filler and the skill of the doctor can make in a relatively quick treatment!

The liquid facelift is now the answer!
