Smooth The Skin's Texture Using Microdermabrasion - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

The look and texture of the skin can change over the years making treatments such as microdermabrasion ideal for refreshing and rejuvenating the face. The mild exfoliation of the skin will help to erase fine lines and wrinkles, as well as unclogging and minimising the pores. The treatment can lessen age spots, hyperpigmentation and superficial sun damage, whilst medical microdermabrasion, which give a deeper medical exfoliation, is ideal for mild acne scars.

At Selston Cosmetic Clinic our experienced practitioner can easily give professional skin treatments such as a chemical peel or microdermabrasion, treatments which can penetrate deeper into the skin than similar products that people use at home. These treatments will cause the dull, dead skin cells to turnover faster and can also treat a great number of other skin concerns.

Exfoliating at home - do's and don'ts;

*  Don't exfoliate every day. People think it will leave them with a clearer skin, but over-exfoliating can damage your healthy skin cells, leaving the skin irritated, dry and red. Instead, exfoliating twice a week is more than enough to keep your complexion looking bright.
*  Do use a good quality exfoliator with active ingredients, as this will encourage new cell turnover, whilst helping to take off any dull and dead skin cells from the skin's top layer. This will help to unclog and clear the pores, leaving you with a brighter, fresher complexion.
*  Don't exfoliate irritated skin. You should stop exfoliating straight away if it's causing skin irritation or has made your skin over-sensitive, as it's important not to damage the skin's barrier. Only start using exfoliation once your skin has returned to normal.

At a consultation at our clinic you'll meet your practitioner and they will assess your skin and suitability for treatment. After explaining  the microdermabrasion procedure, recovery, likely outcomes and costs, they will go through your past medical history and answer any questions you might have. The microdermabrasion treatment uses a light mist of crystals on the upper layer of the skin, which will gently and painlessly dislodge the dead and dull cells, whilst its vacuum suction will simultaneously remove both the crystals and dead cells. This results in a polished, smooth and glowing skin.

Microdermabrasion is one of the simplest and least disruptive skin treatments and is ideal even for people with sensitive skin. The treatment can help you improve any skin conditions or imperfections such as; fine lines, mild acne scars, enlarged pores, oily or dull skin and pigmentation. Microdermabrasion gives fast and long-lasting results.
