Erase Unsightly Wrinkles & Smokers Lines on Your Lips - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Wrinkles always seem to show up in the wrong places. We tend to focus on someones eyes or mouth during a conversation, and unfortunately those are the areas where wrinkles show up first. Even before we start getting old, signs of ageing will show on our face a lot sooner than we'd like, especially around the mouth and lower face.

As we age, lip creases and lip lines will begin to appear as the skin's elasticity starts breaking down, making your lipstick bleed into your lip wrinkles and ruining your smile. When we repeatedly make the same facial expressions, it can cause lip wrinkles to form. Things like pursing the lips, smoking, eating and excessive sun exposure can break down collagen and elastin in the skin, and over time these things can all cause fine lines around the mouth and upper lip.

Lips come in all sorts of different shapes and sizes;
  • Full Lips - Full and sensuous, both on the upper and lower lips which are usually symmetrical
  • Wide Lips - Wide lips cover a good part of the lower half of the face
  • Bow Lips - The highest point of the lips features a double-curve commonly known as a cupid’s bow, which resembles the bow of Cupid, the Roman God of Love
  • Round Lips - are small but full, with a heart shape centre top lip

Lip creases, also called lipstick lines or smoker’s lines, are those fine lines that start to appear around our lips as we age. These vertical lines on the lips are especially problematic for women, especially when the lip lines cause lipstick to bleed into the lips. Over time, we lose collagen and the skin becomes lax, we also lose fat which contributes to thinning lips, which makes the lip lines and wrinkles more visible.

Although natural ageing plays a part in forming lip lines, the good news is that we can do something about it. At the Selston Cosmetic Clinic we've had fantastic results using lip fillers to banish those lip creases and add volume. Dr Bassi is a fully trained cosmetic practitioner in advanced filler techniques, and he tailors every treatment to suit each client. He has performed thousands of injectable dermal lip filler treatments and he has over 10 years experience as a specialist cosmetic practitioner.

Unfortunately, not everyone is born with beautiful luscious lips, but if you are looking to improve your pout and erase your lip lines, then lip filler can give you what the gene pool didn't.
