Fill Out Eye Hollows with Dermal Filler - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

We do a lot of things to try and keep our eyes looking young; using creams, concealers, serums, cucumber slices and even used tea-bags. As well as being the windows to the soul, the eyes are also a big giveaway to show others how well we are ageing. As we get older, one of the changes we can expect to notice are the dark circles and deepening of the hollows under the eyes.

The naso-jugal groove, also known as the tear trough, occurs due to the thinning of the overlying skin and soft tissue over the bony orbital rim, and this happens because of the ageing process, genetics or because of sun damage. Tear troughs run from the tear duct and down in an arc underneath the lower eyelid, and it's the loss of volume in the tissue beneath the eye and above the cheek that cause the hollows.

Deep unsightly hollows can now be corrected with advanced dermal fillers, and this treatment will also help to correct the dark shadowing beneath the eye.

Dermal filler is an ideal treatment for:
  • Sunken eyes
  • Dark circles under the eyes
  • Tired looking eyes
  • Eye bags
Dermal filler treatment fills out the hollows and lines beneath the eyes and helps to mask the dark circles with its light reflecting technology. At Selston Cosmetic Clinic we use hyaluronic acid based filler, which is a substance that naturally occurs in the body. These fillers are non animal based and are very safe to use. This treatment will rejuvenate tired looking eyes to create a more youthful appearance that will last up to twelve months.

Tear trough treatment involves injecting filler into the under eye area, which fills out the hollows. A topical anaesthetic cream gets applied about 20 minutes before treatment starts to minimise any discomfort, numbing the skin and easing any pain. The treatment only takes twenty to thirty minutes to complete and the results are instant. There's minimal downtime, although you may have a tiny amount of swelling as the skin under the eye is very delicate.

Young looking eyes are a great asset to the overall appearance of a youthful, attractive, healthy face. Having dark hollows under the eyes can make you look older than you are and can leave you looking like you've had sleepless nights. Over time the hollows can change in appearance, becoming longer, deeper and even more shadowed.
