Deep hollows under the eyes can be so aging and leave you looking like you haven't slept in weeks.

The eyes are the first thing people notice about you when they look at you  'eyes being the window to your face'!

No amount of eye creams are going to help with hollows or dark shadows, usually make up is the only thing that will disguise them...and this is generally not an option for most men!

There are a lot of sophisticated dermal fillers available now that can be injected into tear troughs giving an instant plumping effect of the hollows. 

We use Teosyal Redensity for eyes which also has clever light reflecting technology which masks the dark shadowing under the eye.

This treatment takes 20 to 30 minutes and results are instant. There is minimal downtime, although you might experience a little bruising as the skin under the eye is very delicate.

Compared to having a Blephroplasty, tear trough treatment is a fraction of the cost. Bleph's start at around £3000 and you have the inconvenience of surgery, and the downtime and bruising that comes with that procedure.

Tear trough treatment is suitable for most clients, but when you come for consultation, your requirements will be discussed and very rarely surgery will be the only answer.

Lip Enhancement And Lip Augmentation Nottingham

This lady who travelled up from London had lip fillers at a Harley Street clinic but was not too impressed with the outcome. She wanted a more balanced look. 

By using a combination of lip enhancement and augmentation to the upper and lower lip a balanced look was obtained...making her lips look natural and lucious! The results below are after 1ml of Teosyl Kiss.

A local anaesthetic injection can be given to numb the area but this sometimes makes the lips lopsided like a dental injection, so when you are having lip enhancement/augmentation, it is difficult to judge the result until the aneasthetic has worn off.

Botox... Longevity and Effectiveness

We recommend to all our clients to have Botox injected every 3 months. This keeps on top of the wrinkles and doing it religiously within this time frame doesn't allow the muscles to fight back!

A recent magazine article agreed with this. Research concluded that if patients had Botox every four months for two years, the frequency of treatment could be reduced to six monthly with good results and patient satisfaction!

It also concluded that patients who began Botox treatment between the ages of 30 to 50 are preventing progressive wrinkles from forming!

So keep hammering those lines every 3 to 4 months and we will all be having our 21st again soon! ;)

Liquid Face Lift.....Radiesse

This lady is another example of a liquid facelift using Radiesse dermal filler. Her face was starting to look flat as her cheeks were disappearing.

We attended the 3 day anti-ageing conference in Monte carlo. This brought together cosmetic Doctors from all over the world.

The latest techniques were presented in the fields of Botox and Dermal fillers. It is clear that the emphasis was on the liquid face lift, how to give a satisfying appearance of a face lift using Botox and Dermal Fillers.

Leading Doctors were demonstrating some amazing techniques with fantastic results which we will be utilising in our everyday practice!

It was great to have a feel of Monte Carlo, to take in the chic locals, the boys toys (cars and yachts to die for!) and to walk around the famous hairpin bend of the Grand Prix circuit. All great fun

Alkaline Hair Wash results!

Since launching this new treatment, approximately 3 months ago, I can now give you my personal opinion.........



Clients that are requesting Alkaline hair wash removal, are clients who have completed Laser Hair removal and are left with fluffy fine hair. Also people with fine blonde hair with that downy hair look.



Not only does it remove hair but I have found that it does a very mild superficial skin peel and clients have told me their skin looks and feels smoother and more refined!



When the fluffy hair is removed it makes the skin look smooth and fresh, so when you walk into a room it gives you a presence!

Acne Scarring

Radiage Skin Tightening – Common Questions

What is Radiage?
Radiage works by using radio frequency to generate heat, which passes through the epidermis (outer layer of the skin) and into the dermis (deeper layer of the skin) to cause some degree of thermal or heat injury. The body then reacts to this "injury" and regenerates, thereby tightening the skin.

How long does the treatment take?
Depending on the areas you have treated, it averages around 20 minutes.

What improvements to my skin may expect with Radiage?
It tightens the skin and can give somewhere between 20-30% skin tightening improvements in most patients, this may seem small but even this amount of tightening gives dramatic results.

Which areas can Radiage be used on?
It can be used for under the eyes and also cheek neck and jowl areas.

Is Radiage safe?
Yes it is safe; Ellman has marked its RF energy devices since 1969.

Is it painful?
Radiage can be performed without anestethic, we recommend local anaestethic cream(EMLA) to be applied 1 hour before hand as Radiage gives a mild to intense heat over the area. To achieve optimum results we have to reach a certain skin tempertures.

How long do the results last?
Treatment results last from 10 to 12 months. Your skin will continue to age and eventually you may wish to have a single top up procedure near the end of this time period.

Recovery time?
Basically there is no recovery time, it is a lunch time procedure. Slight redness may be seen for less than an hour after and no more than 24 hours following the procedure.

To Grow Old Gracefully or Not?

For anyone who has found themselves in a hypercritical situation due to their employment may well appreciate the sentiments to follow.

To understand my perplexion you first have to learn that I come from a family of shall we call them “grow old gracefullies” you know the sort the type of people who will not entertain anything un-natural botox and breast enlargements are definitely out, you should be happy with what you were given.

Well my dilemma began when I became the Practice Manager of Selston Surgery, a semi rural village Doctors in Nottinghamshire, not the sort of village where you would normally expect to find an advanced medical laser and cosmetic clinic. Dr Bassi “the boss” has been the village GP for about 20 years and during this time developed a keen interest in cosmetic treatments.

My understanding is that this interest grew from the needs of his patients and out of frustration with the services available for them in terms of aesthetics. There are so many people who are un-happy with the way they look, I am not just talking about those that make the odd comment of “I wish I didn’t have wrinkles” but there are many who have become so depressed with their appearance that they won’t leave he house and are unable to lead a full life because of their insecurities.

You may ask what could be so bad “as I did” but what is a simple birth mark or port wine stain to one can prevent a person from going on holiday because they are to conscious to wear a t-shirt or swimwear, or the young minded person who has a heavily aged face and hands who becomes depressed yearning for their youthful looks, not to mention the acne scared young adult who fears socialising.

My experiences have now showed me that there is a need for cosmetic treatments and if a person chooses laser liposuction to remove their fat, they can come to a safe medical environment and undergo a procedure, without going through major surgery, and when they return for their follow up appointments, the confidence and self esteem have greatly improved.

Cosmetic treatments are not just about treating the skin and the physical appearance of a person, its about the person as a whole, who are they, who do they want to be and how do they want to feel. As my Grandmother would have said “It’s good for the soul”.

So, should you grow old gracefully, yes if you want to; but if you feel you need a bit of fat removal here, a breast enlargment there, your skin tightening to look younger or have hair growing where you do want it to grow and would like in removing, then why not.
