Remove Fine Facial Hair With Alkaline Wash - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Excess hair, especially the fine, downy hair on the face, can really affect our self-confidence. As most people's facial is very fair, removing it is very difficult. Those with blonde, grey, fine and downy hair might want to have hair removal treatment using lasers, but unfortunately light and heat draws itself to darker colours, so hair which doesn't have any pigmentation becomes very difficult to treat with lasers, and electrolysis treatment would be very time-consuming, as hair growth on the face is usually quite dense.

Unfortunately, as laser removal is typically out of the question for removing fair hair as it gives poor results, any reputable clinic would have no choice but to recommend against having this treatment - but there is an alternative.

At Selston Cosmetic Clinic our practitioner applies a paste made of alkaline powder for a few minutes, which will dissolve part of the underlying follicle beneath the skin. This will release the hair from the follicles, giving you smooth, hair free skin immediately after treatment. With regular treatments, the regrowth becomes slower and ultimately stops.

  • The treatment course is 6 treatments, each treatment is 4 weeks apart
  • No recovery time, you are back to work the next day
  • The full course of treatment results in permanent hair removal
  • The treatment is painless doesn't need anaesthetic
  • The results are immediate
Alkaline wash treatment is most effective when treating fine, blonde, white, grey or downy hair and the hair does not grow back any coarser after this treatment. After the first treatment the hair will normally grow back at its usual rate, but as treatments progress, the re-growth will slow down. It's the perfect removal treatment for downy hair on the face, lip and chin and it's designed for the fine hair on the tender areas of the face that you shouldn't wax, and areas that are difficult to treat with electrolysis or laser.

Alkaline wash can drastically reduce hair growth after 2-3 treatments, leaving some clients happy with the improvement they get, but most continue with the full treatment course, aiming to get rid of all of the unwanted hair. The treatment itself is painless, although in some cases the skin can become red, but this is normal and will only last for a short period.

We can use the alkaline wash treatment as a stand-alone treatment or we can combine it with laser hair removal to give that smooth finished hair free look, so now blonde's can have the benefits of hair removal too.

Fine, Downy Hair Removal with Alkaline Hair Wash - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

The cosmetic team at Selston Cosmetic Clinic receive a lot of enquiries from clients with blonde, grey, fine and downy hair, wanting to have hair removal treatment using lasers. Unfortunately, as laser hair removal is typically beyond the reach of these hair types and gives very poor results, we have no choice but to advise against having this treatment... but we do have an alternative!

Alkaline hair remover is the next best thing, to remove unwanted downy, facial hair. Alkaline wash has been specifically designed to reduce this type of unwanted hair. It's the perfect hair removal treatment for downy hair on the face, lip and chin and it's a treatment that is designed to eliminate the fine hair on your face that shouldn't be waxed, and hair that's difficult to treat with electrolysis or laser.

We apply a paste made of alkaline powder for a few minutes to dissolve part of the underlying follicle beneath the skin. This releases hair from the hair follicles, giving you smooth, hair free skin immediately after treatment. With regular treatments, it's said that regrowth becomes slower and ultimately ceases for most people. Alkaline Hair Wash does not stimulate dormant hair follicles as waxing sometimes does and the only side effect, is a possible temporary redness after treatment.

Removing downy hair with alkaline hair wash treatment

Alkaline Wash is most effective when treating fine, blonde, white, grey or downy hair. It's most suitable for areas where there's a dense growth of fine hair, that is usually resistive to standard hair removal methods. After the first treatment the hair will normally grow back at its normal rate, but as treatments progress the re-growth will become slower and slower. The hair does not grow back any coarser after Alkaline Hair Wash Treatment.
  • The procedure time is 1-2 days
  • The treatment course is 6 treatments, each treatment is 4 weeks apart
  • No recovery time, you are back to work the next day
  • The treatment normally results in permanent hair removal
  • The treatment is painless and needs no anaesthetic
  • The results are immediately seen
Alkaline hair wash can drastically reduce hair growth after 2-3 treatments, leaving some clients happy with the improvement they get, but most continue with the full treatment course, aiming for total clearance. The treatment itself is painless, although in some cases the skin can become red, but this is normal and will only last for a short period.

We can use Alkaline hair wash hair removal treatment as a stand alone treatment or combined with laser hair removal to give that smooth finished hair free look! Now blonde's can have the benefits of hair removal too!

Vaser Lipo...Vaser Hi Def...Nottingham - London

Vaser Lipo is the number one procedure for fat removal. It is performed under local aneasthetic, so you are wide awake and chatting throughout. It can be done under twilight sedation, but this generally bumps the cost up as an aneasthetist has to be present. Most clients opt for Vaser Lipo as it a safer way of  having lipo that doesn't involve being put to sleep.
You can go home the same day and get  on with your life, no hospital stays and no big downtime as for traditional lipo.

We are really busy at the moment as everyone is preparing for Summer holidays and that 'beach body'. But the vast majority of clients are still the gym bunnies who just can not rid themselves of little areas of fat that will just not shift!

The big trend with the guys is to go for Hi Def, the six pack look. For the little extra the Hi Def costs compared to basic fat removal, it really is a no brainer!
Hi Def is great for people who are within their BMI or who can only pinch an inch or two. Once the six pack is carved out the sky is the limit once the client hits the gym and further enhances their result.

This young man was one of many that travel to us from London after reading reviews on the clinic and Dr Bassi.  He wanted rid of his little paunch and a tad more  definition. He had the procedure in Nottingham and a couple of  weeks later while we were in London performing procedures, we reviewed him there.  He had been following his post op care religiously and having massages to keep the swelling down...and was starting to look pretty good.
Full results will be seen by 3 months as with Vaser the skin continues to tighten up until that point.

This second client also travelled from London for his procedure. As you can see, Vaser has made a massive difference to his body shape. He was quite chunky and now has a more athletic look. Needless to say he is very happy. He has kept in touch and the 'selfie' he sent us shows us a much more confident stance and a great result!

5 Reasons for Laser Hair Removal

5 reasons for Laser Hair Removal

To Save Money — Laser hair removal is permanent hair removal, which may seem expensive, however when you add up what you will continue spending over a lifetime on shaving, waxing or other temporary methods it becomes a great investment.
2. To Save Time — Eliminate the need for daily shaving or monthly waxing. No more having to miss your lunch hour to wax, or wake up early each morning to shave, laser hair removal eliminates hair permanently.
3. To Eliminate Ingrown Hairs — Ingrown hairs can be unsightly, uncomfortable and make you self-consciousness. By eliminating the hair through laser hair removal, you will eliminate ingrown hairs.
4. To Regain Self-Confidence — Whether you are a woman with facial hair or hair in other undesired places, or a man with an overly hairy back or chest, excessive or unwanted hair can take a toll on one’s self esteem. Laser hair removal can eliminate unwanted hair and help you regain that lost confidence.
5. To Get Smoother Skin — Removing hair with laser hair removal can give you much smoother and sexier skin than any other hair removal methods. Also, with laser hair removal there is no need to let the hair grow out, creating uncomfortable in-between growth stages.

Alkaline Hair Wash results!

Since launching this new treatment, approximately 3 months ago, I can now give you my personal opinion.........

Clients that are requesting Alkaline hair wash removal, are clients who have completed Laser Hair removal and are left with fluffy fine hair. Also people with fine blonde hair with that downy hair look.

Not only does it remove hair but I have found that it does a very mild superficial skin peel and clients have told me their skin looks and feels smoother and more refined!

When the fluffy hair is removed it makes the skin look smooth and fresh, so when you walk into a room it gives you a presence!

laser for skin .......

Laser skin rejuvenation......... what it is

Selston Cosmetic Clinic has an array of Lasers which improve and rejuvenate the skin.

We have the Smartxide and Laserscope for the skin rejuvenation.

Smartxide is becoming the GOLD standard for laser skin resurfacing .

I specialise using the Laserscope Laser which gives the skin a smoother and even skin tone , while giving that all over skin tightening.

This I feel is a much more gentle treatment, it gives an element of facial tightening over the course of treatment ,reducing fine lines and achieving an even skin tone.

What would make a client choose this treatment? Simply because it is a gentle treatment and the down time is less than 24 hours!

Looking forward....

To a new you!

When you hit the your 30's and 40's , your skin starts to show the signs of aging, the tone and texture also diminishes, so you will need that extra boost to regain that youthful look.

Laser Skin Rejuventation improves the appearance gently , when the skin cells are turned over you reveal healthy balanced skin.......

For a more dramatic finish Smartxide will resurface the skin completely with a little more downtime, but the results are worth it!

Look forward to the New Year with new skin , what more can you ask for!

Hair Removal for blonde hair.

The most popular make of treatment at our clinic is Laser Hair Removal, this is for dark and brown hair.

However laser is not suitable for fluffy and fine hair, which is normally, white, blonde or grey. We have find numurous clients asking for treatments for this as they do not want to wax........!

We are now using Alkaline Hair Wash which is used for fine downy hair . This is formulated as a deep action hair remover. This treatment works by dissolving part of the underlying hair follicle beneath the skin. This releases hair from the hair follicle giving smooth, hair free skin immediately after treatment. Alkaline Hair Wash does not stimulate dormant hair follicles as waxing sometimes does.

In our experience up to 6 treatments are needed for this.

Now blonde people can have the benefits of hair removal too!

Laser Hair Removal for Traditionally Incompatible Hair?

I have noticed Laser Hair Removal is becoming very popular here at Selston Cosmetic Clinic and with our state of the art laser system, competitive prices and amazing results, we light to think that is rightly so!

When it comes to those fitting into the standard criteria for laser hair removal we have to say that the results our clients achieve are very impressive, and our clients are in agreement as with us on that.

However our cosmetic team receives numerous enquiries for laser hair removal from clients with blonde hair, fine downy and grey hair. Unfortunately laser hair removal is typically beyond the reach of these hair types and gives very poor results, thus we have no choice but to advise against this treatment... but wait!

Due to the sheer amount of clients whose hair falls into these traditionally untreatable hair types, here at Selston Cosmetic Clinic we have looked into how this issue can be addressed and we are glad to say that soon this will be a reality.

How? Well it is a new treatment called the Alkaline Hair Wash, which can be used as a stand alone treatment or combined with laser hair removal to give that smooth finished hair free look!

We will post more information as we get it so stay tuned for the next update on this amazing new treatment!
