PDO Threadlifts to Lift & Tighten The Facial Skin - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Our skin's elasticity loosens as we grow older and we tend to lose volume in various areas of our face. Ageing can lead to the start of wrinkles and sagging skin, developing into nose to mouth lines and these can result in jowls. If you don't want to have an invasive surgical facelift, then a non-surgical treatment is the solution.

Lot's of people are looking for treatments to lift and rejuvenate the face using non-invasive treatments and PDO thread lifts can deliver this and give you excellent results. PDO thread lift treatment will immediately lift the skin, creating more volume, stimulating collagen production in the area and tightening the skin, leaving you with a more youthful look.

PDO thread lifts are ideal to use on:
*  Sagging jowls
*  Eye bags
*  Drooping upper eyebrows

The procedure lifts the face at targeted points, stimulating ongoing collagen and elastin production, which will make your skin feel and look firmer. It will smooth wrinkles, tighten your skin and define the jaw line, creating a gentle lift which will give you natural-looking results. After an application of topical anaesthetic cream, a very fine needle will insert the threads. These dissolvable threads will discreetly hold repositioned skin and facial tissue in place and as there aren't any cuts or incisions, there's no scarring.

The advantages of having PDO thread lift treatment include:
*  Instant results
*  They improve the skin's texture and tone
*  Increase of collagen production
*  No cuts or incisions
*  Skin tightening
*  Minimal down time
*  The procedure has a high safety profile

PDO thread lift treatment uses simple injections to place the threads just beneath the surface of the skin in strategic places, without making any cuts or incisions. These threads are made from the same material as surgical sutures which after a while will dissolve inside the body. The threads create three effects; they lift, tighten and smooth out the skin.

The PDO thread lift procedure can treat either all of your face, or just partial areas, depending on your needs and it will combine beautifully with dermal filler. The threads are extremely versatile, and will give amazing results around the face and neck. They can treat vertical and horizontal wrinkles on the forehead, sagging brows, drooping cheeks, a sagging jaw line, neck folds and wrinkles on the chin. The results deliver a naturally attractive, subtle lift, that will give a refreshed, rejuvenated youthful look.'

Smooth Away Wrinkles with Botox - Nottingham, Derby,Mansfield & Chesterfield

Ageing affects every area of the body, but of all the changes that occur, the changes in the face are the most obvious. Wrinkles and fine lines are the most common signs of ageing which form through smiling, squinting, smoking, and any other repeated facial movement. Most of our wrinkles develop because of damage to the skin, with the most damage coming from excess exposure to sunlight.

It's never too late to slow down signs of ageing and even those who are already starting to show some early skin ageing can benefit from making some lifestyle changes.

The rate of facial ageing will increase:
  • When the skin becomes dehydrated it leaves the skin looking flat and dull, and the dryness will make the wrinkles show up more.
  • Lighter skin tones also more prone to sun damage making the daily application of sunscreen essential.
  • Repeated facial expressions like smiling, squinting and frowning often cause the first of your wrinkles to form.
  • Heredity plays a role in how we age. The timing at which we start to develop wrinkles is partly influenced through genetics.
  • Smoking can add fine lines and wrinkles to the mouth, causing lipstick to bleed its colour into the lip wrinkles.
  • Sleeping on the same side every night, will repeatedly press and squash the face to the pillow.
Even if you have great genes and look younger than you are, there's no way to avoid the ageing changes in your facial appearance. The changes that appear on our face, are reflections our happiness and life challenges, and we can either learn to love these changes, or decide to do something about them.

Botox is a prescription medicine that's injected into the facial muscles to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows and crows feet at the sides of the eyes. As long as you're treated by a medical expert, trained in facial anatomy, you will look younger and refreshed and you won't lose the ability to express any emotions or expressions.

These days we are all familiar with botox treatment, used to smooth away fine lines and wrinkles on different areas on the face, depending on the way your muscles of facial expression work. Botox treatments can easily be combined with treatments such as chemical peels, microdermabrasion and dermal fillers, which can also help to prevent new wrinkles and lines from forming on the face.

Refresh & Rejuvenate Your Face With a Chemical Peel - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

As we get older our skin can begin to look dull, the texture can become uneven and we might even have some acne scars, but surprisingly, lying just beneath the surface of our skin could be a spotless, line-free and flawless complexion. If we are unhappy at the state of our skin then a chemical peel treatment can improve the texture and tone on the face, leaving us with improved, visible results, without any irritation or shredding of the skin.

Chemical peels are a widely used part of cosmetic treatments, and they can help rectify a number of skin concerns. The treatments penetrate into the skin without causing irritation, unclogging facial pores and stimulating collagen production. They are most often used as an anti-ageing treatment, to improve fine lines, acne scars and skin discolouration or simply to freshen up the skin.

The acid in the chemical peel lifts away the dead cells in minutes, triggering a chain reaction:
* It causes exfoliation of the top layer of the skin
* Once the skin is shed, the living cells below will multiply and move up.
* This will increase collagen production, making hyaluronic acid which results in a fresher, younger  looking face.

Regularly removing dead skin cells will freshen up your skin, giving it a fresh and youthful glow. It will even out the skin tone, reduce age spots, give you a better skin quality, as well as giving your skin-care and make-up products, a smoother base to sit on. The peels penetrate into the dermis of the skin and stimulate the fibroblasts deep within the skin, producing new and improved collagen and elastin and increasing the skin cell turnover.
Benefits of chemical peels:
  • Penetrate deep enough to remove the top layer of skin, which will even out your skin tone.
  • Reduce or take away blotchy patches that cause the skin to look dull.
  • Remove the sun damaged top layer of skin, leaving behind a fresh and smooth layer.
  • They can help clear up inflammations and even acne scars.
  • A fast and simple treatment. The average procedure takes around 30-40 minutes.
Chemical peels offer a non-invasive, quick-fix solution, without the need for surgery. Lasers treatments can target problems but they can prove expensive, so chemical peels are ideal for customers looking for an effective, less expensive option.

Improve Your Facial Skin with Chemical Peel Treatments - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

When we reach our late twenties or early thirties, we start to notice certain signs of ageing, like facial wrinkles or the start of sagging skin. Most of us usually accept that what we see in the mirror is an inevitable process of nature, with sun damage, smoking, pollution, the environment, stress and lack of sleep, all accelerating the skin's ageing process.

People have chemical peel treatments to gain a cleaner, fresher and younger appearance for their face. It's a great treatment to lessen, or take away lines and wrinkles, uneven tone, acne scars, age spots, superficial scars and other blemishes. The peels penetrate into the dermis; the inner layers of your skin, and stimulate the fibroblasts deep within the skin, to produce new collagen and elastin. They also increase cell turnover, resurfacing the skin which results in improved texture and skin tone, giving your face a fresher, smoother and more youthful appearance.

These non-invasive skin peels can give dramatic results for:
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Dull lifeless skin
  • Sun damaged skin
  • Active acne
  • Mild acne scars
  • Irregular pigmentation
Cold weather can have a harsh effect on the skin, causing dryness as the moisture gets sucked out of the epidermis, leaving it itchy, tight and uncomfortable. Fine lines start to look deeper and the skin begins to look rough and flaky. The older we get, the more wrinkles, fine lines, acne, mild face scars, sun damage, freckles and pigmentation start to show on our face. Chemical peels fight these things by slowing their growth or by diminishing them completely.

As well as improving the skin's appearance, chemical peels remain a widely used, useful part of cosmetic beauty treatments and they can help treat a number of skin concerns. Chemical peels are most often used as an anti-ageing treatment, helping to improve acne and discolouration or simply to freshen up the skin.

Benefits of chemical skin peels are:
  • Pain free with no skin flaking or shredding
  • A good treatment if you're suffering from acne and within a few months can help clear up inflammation and even acne scars
  • Promoting growth of new skin, collagen and elastin, which will thicken the skin and improve the resistance to the effects of ageing
  • Improving the skin's texture and tone, making the face look and feel fresher
Chemical facial peels aim to remove the dead cells from the skin's surface to allow new healthy skin cells to grow back, creating smoother looking skin. It's a non-invasive treatment used to restore youthfulness to wrinkly, blotchy, sun-damaged skin and can also be used to treat blemishes, scars and help reduce the signs of ageing.

Ease Lines & Wrinkles With Botox - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

We all get older, this is just a simple fact of life, however, there are some people who unfortunately feel they look older than their years. Wrinkles are mostly associated with older people but they can appear at any age and it's not unusual for those in their late twenties or early thirties to seek wrinkle treatments.

Botox is not just for treating the wrinkles of older people, lots of younger clients are now having this anti-ageing treatment as a prevention method. If you stop the beginnings of a wrinkle and keep having maintenance treatments, you'll stay looking more youthful for longer. We don't have to age gracefully anymore as botox injections are an affordable treatment used by both women and men.

The face is the place where age shows up first, and wrinkle fillers are ideal for those who want a youthful appearance without having to do anything too drastic. Botox is non-invasive and can give an incredibly natural result, dramatically reducing wrinkles and giving a smoother, less tired-looking face. Botox cosmetic treatments can help a range of problem areas.

The upper face is the main area of Botox treatments:
  • Crow's-feet at the sides of the eyes.
  • Frown lines.
  • Forehead creases.

One of the most common things people want to treat are dynamic wrinkles which result through muscle contractions. The frown lines across the forehead, and the two vertical lines between the eyebrows form through the repeated movement of facial muscles when we express ourselves.

Eventually as the skin ages, its elastic fibres fracture, the collagen in the skin breaks down and the skin takes longer to recover from being creased. The lines begin to bed into the skin and no longer disappear, even when the face is at rest. The muscles on the forehead cause the skin to crinkle up when we are concentrating, looking into the sun, speaking expressively and many other things that happen daily. In fact, every time you scowl, squint, glare or grimace, these lines are slowing starting to develop.

Botox treatments have no recovery period, so you will be able to return to your regular activities immediately, with no discomfort. Any pain associated with botox injections is minimal but having a topical anaesthetic cream applied before treatment can help with any potential discomfort. Botox treatment takes just minutes to perform and the results last anywhere from 3-6 months.

Botox & Filler for a Liquid Face Lift - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Unfortunately we'll all get older, and when we do we'll notice our face developing fine lines and wrinkles. Sagging facial skin will make us look tired, and if we lose volume in our face we'll also start to look gaunt. Many people think that invasive face lift surgery is the solution to correct these effects of facial ageing, however there's another option. Instead of going under the knife for a surgical procedure, many people find they'll get fantastic results from a non-surgical procedure such as the liquid face lift.

A liquid face lift is a cosmetic procedure where a combination of injected botox and fillers freshen the face by softening lines and wrinkles and adding volume to the face. When it's strategically placed, botox can give you an eye lift and the dermal filler, when injected into sunken, hollow cheeks will add volume to the face.

Those who can benefit are:
  • Clients who aren't quite ready, or who are reluctant to have invasive surgery.
  • Those who have slight sagging of the jowls.
  • Clients who have lost volume in the cheeks.
  • People who have lost volume under the eyes.
Botox and filler can also be injected into the temples, lower eyelids, cheeks and jaw-line to create more youthful facial contours. Using local anaesthetic on the face, means any pain is minimal and unlike a surgical face lift, clients can go back to work the following day.

A liquid face lift treatment would benefit those who want to rejuvenate and refresh their face, making it appear more youthful. It's ideal for those who have lost volume to the face, especially in the cheek and mouth areas. With precision placement of the dermal filler to give tissue support and volume to areas which have sagged, along with strategic injections of botox to erase the fine lines, realistic goals of a refreshed younger looking face are achievable.

Benefits of a non-surgical procedure:
  • It's non-invasive, no stitches or cuts and no bleeding
  • Fast treatment time - 20 - 30 minutes
  • Quick recovery - minor swelling for a few days
  • It's affordable
  • Back to work - next day
  • Duration of results - up to 12 months
  • Anaesthetic - local
  • Results seen - immediate dramatic results
Having a liquid face lift is a minimal, swift procedure which can take five to seven years off of your facial appearance. It's possible to arrive and leave within an hour, having had a face lift without the need of a scalpel.

Achieve Younger Looking Skin With Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

We don't get to adulthood without seeing some sort of evidence on our face and we would all love to turn the clock back and get back the perfect, unblemished skin of our youth. Our skin has to contend with many things as we get older; sun, harsh weather and bad habits, and unfortunately these effects show on our face and tell the story. Skin problems like acne scars, liver spots on the back of the hands, face and décolletage or skin that's been damaged by too much sun, can all affect our self-confidence.

There are many reasons why we are not satisfied with our appearance but whether it's our face, neck or hands that we have a problem with, a solution is available. According to many doctors, one of the best anti-ageing treatments is the SmartXide DOT which is a fractional Co2 laser system which will improve the texture, tone and overall quality of your skin.

It's an ideal treatment for:
  • Wrinkles
  • Poor texture
  • Large skin pores
  • Sun damage
  • Sun spots
  • Brown spots
  • Acne scars
  • Surgical scars
  • Uneven pigmentation
  • Stretch marks
SmartXide Dot is tailored to each person's skin-type and to how much damage is on the skin. SmartXide Dot treatment helps to soften wrinkles of the face, especially around the mouth and eyes, as well having the unique ability to tighten loose skin. The skin treatment can soften deep lines and fine wrinkles until they disappear, leaving the skin smoother, fresher and looking more youthful. By forming a completely new skin layer, it will restore the tone and glow to the face and other treated areas.

The laser is good for:
  • Reversing the look of ageing skin
  • To effectively repair sun damaged skin
  • Improve skin tightening, texture and firmness
  • Smooth wrinkles and lines
  • Even out the skin tone and colour
  • Reduce acne marks and other scars
  • Treat pigmentation (brown spots and skin discolouration)
  • Reduce large pores on the skin.
Scars from acne or other skin injuries can also benefit from using this treatment. The laser treatment takes about 30 minutes to restore the skin's youthful appearance. The laser stimulates new collagen growth which helps to prolong the effects of the treatment, and gives a more even result. While it's true that we can't halt the ageing process, with care, we can maintain your rejuvenated skin's appearance for years to come.

The Many Uses of Botox Injections - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Botox is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure for both women and men to help ease and erase fine lines and wrinkles. It's a simple injectable treatment which will give you a smoother complexion without the need for invasive surgery. If you have lines around your mouth, neck, or on the forehead, then Botox can help.

Botox is one of the least invasive procedures available and when it's injected by skilled and experienced hands, they are safe, effective and cause minimal discomfort. The injections prevent the muscles from contracting, blocking impulses to selected nerves, making the wrinkles relax and soften.

Botox has many amazing benefits, including easing migraines, reducing sweating under the arms and of course erasing those troublesome wrinkles that can make you look prematurely old.

The many uses of Botox

* Anti-Ageing - Wanting to look younger and more youthful is the most popular reason we have Botox injections. It's one of the best non-surgical options for preventing wrinkles as it slows down ageing on the face and helps to tighten and lift the skin. Using Botox as a non-surgical face lift can take years off the face when it's used appropriately and this option is great for people who want just a slight lift and not the dramatic change of invasive surgery.

* Migraine Killer - Botox was licensed specifically for treating Chronic Migraine, which works due to it's nerve-blocking effects. It relaxes the muscles and blocks the sensory nerves that send pain messages to the brain, making them less sensitive to the onslaught of pain. Statistics say that over 6 million people in the UK  have migraine headaches, so for those with especially debilitating migraine attacks, this is great news.

* Muscle Spasms and Disorders - Botox is an ideal solution for muscle spasms, particularly in the face, neck and eyelids. When it's injected into the muscles it reduces the spasms by stopping the transmission between the muscle fibres and the nerve endings.

* Overactive Bladder - An overactive bladder occurs when the bladder contracts more often than necessary, even when the bladder isn't full. Symptoms may include a strong need to pass water along with leaking or wetting accidents, the urgent need to urinate immediately and a frequent need to urinate. Botox helps to paralyse the muscle around the bladder, which in turn prevents contractions from happening so the urgency to pass water is greatly reduced.

* Excess Sweating - Also known as Hyperhidrosis, excessive sweating can affect many parts of the body, but armpits, hands, feet and the groin are the most typical regions of excess perspiration, due to the higher concentration of sweat glands. Treatment works by effectively turning off the body's sweat glands by blocking the secretion of chemical transmitters that stimulates the sweat glands, which essentially paralyses them. Botox is injected into tissues of the problem area and this may give six to eight months relief from sweating.

Using Botox to treat these medical conditions are prescribed and performed by registered doctors, and for cosmetic treatments care should always be taken to choose an experienced trained specialist in cosmetic procedures. We administer Botox with fine needles which makes the procedure quite painless, and though there might be slight swelling and redness afterwards, this resolves quickly.

Anti-Ageing - We'll Help Your Skin to Stay Looking Young - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

There are many signs of ageing on the face; fine lines and wrinkles, sun spots, crepey wrinkles on the décolletage, lost volume and sagging jowls, but in the past few years there's been lots of advances in skin care, minimally invasive and non-surgical cosmetic treatments, that work on the problem areas on the face, jaw line, hands and neck.

There are different things that contribute to the ageing of the skin apart from just getting older;
  • Bad nutrition
  • Genetics
  • Stress
  • Sun exposure
We all know the main things we can do to help keep our face and body looking as good as it can possibly be. We can; eat well, exercise, refrain from smoking and drink plenty of water - but we can also:
  • Learn how to manage stress, as too much stress can affect, not only our physical health but also our mental health, and can leave us exhausted. Stress can speed up ageing by giving us frown lines and grey hairs. Try managing the stress in your life with deep breathing, meditation and yoga.
  • Sort out your hair. Grey hair is often one of the first signs of ageing, and more women are discovering grey appearing in their hair as early as their mid twenties. Most women prefer to dye their hair to cover up the grey, but if you decide to try a colour that's different from your original shade, then use colours that will complement your skin tone.
  • The eyebrows define the features of the face. Their shape and arch emphasise our best features and encourage symmetry. The correct eyebrow arch and the distance between the brows can change the way your face looks. Getting perfect eyebrows depends on the dimensions and shape of your face, and getting it right will not only emphasise your eyes, but also make you look younger.

Everyone ages and everyone gets wrinkles, it's something you can't stop from happening, however, to a certain extent we can slow the process down, helping us look younger for longer.

However healthy our lifestyle we can't change the fact, that ageing is a natural process, and we will all get some fine lines, wrinkles and crow’s feet as we grow older. Effective cosmetic treatments can smooth these out with botox. Dermal fillers treatments will also help restore the facial structure and add volume, particularly around the cheeks and lips.

For lots of people, as well as fine lines and wrinkles, skin quality is also a big concern. There are cosmetic treatments which can remove smoker lines around the mouth, reduce sun damage, liver spots, mild acne scars and rejuvenate tired and dull skin. Treatments such as fractional laser, microneedling, and chemical peels help promote the growth of new skin, collagen and elastin, which will thicken the skin, improving resistance to the effects of ageing. They are fast acting and long-lasting, resulting in younger, fresher and smoother looking skin.

Refresh Your Face With Botox - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

It's inevitable that as we get older, the more we will notice fine lines and wrinkles starting to appear on our face, starting with crows feet at the eye area and gradually spreading to the rest of the face. Botox is a safe, simple and gentle treatment which can treat lots of areas, depending on the way your facial expression muscles work. A fully trained, experienced practitioner should always carry out these treatments, as the face is a delicate area to work on.
Botox brow lift before and after
Areas affected by expressive and static lines:
  • Frown lines - we might find that over time, deep lines between the eyebrows and above the nose become quite prominent. Frown lines can appear as two deep furrows that sit between the eyebrows and they are sometimes called the number 11's. To stop you overworking this area, botox injections can relax the muscle, which will also help to reduce the static groove.
  • Forehead - we tend to get both expressive and static lines forming horizontally across our forehead. These wrinkles can dramatically age your appearance, but the use of botox will relax the lines, and stop the area from over-expressing.
  • Eyes - crows feet at the corner of the eyes are a big concern for lots of people. The eyes are one of the most obvious areas for showing age, and with it being a delicate area you should always choose an experienced, highly skilled practitioner to treat them. The eyes are one of the most commonly requested areas for botox treatment.
  • Bunny Lines - these are the straight, slightly diagonal lines on both sides of the nose, under the bridge, that appear when we smile or laugh. They become obvious when we scrunch up our nose when laughing, or through the natural process of ageing.
  • Brow - we have muscles in the face that pull down the eyebrows and muscles that lift up the eyebrows. Injecting botox into the muscles that pull downwards is an ideal way to lift the brow area as it relaxes the muscles that we use to frown, and this lifts the weight that we naturally want to push down.
  • Jaw line - botox can relax and shrink the enlarged masseter muscle on the jaw line near the ear. Botox injections can streamline the area, giving a smooth, heart-shaped jaw line, softening the contour of your lower facial area.
Botox on crows feet before and after

The botox itself stays where it's injected, it doesn’t travel anywhere else in the body, and it gradually wears off naturally, after 3-6 months. The key to successful botox is subtlety; enhancing your face with careful and well thought out treatment, striving to give your face a refreshed, rejuvenated appearance, and avoiding a frozen or startled look.

Tear Troughs - Fill In The Hollows Under The Eyes - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Dark circles under the eyes is a common problem. As we get older, we lose fat pads from underneath the eyes, and this causes eye bags, dark circles, puffiness and a hollowness that causes us to look tired and drawn. This loss of volume and laxity of the lower eyelid skin is often called the tear trough, and it can have the adverse effect of making us seem older than we are, which isn't great for our self-confidence.

In our youth, the fat in our face is distributed evenly, with some pockets plumping up the cheeks, forehead, temples and areas around the eyes and mouth. As we age, that fat loses volume and shifts downward, making the features that were once rounded, start to sink, meaning that other parts of the face gain some fat, so we tend to get baggy around the chin and jowly in the neck.

When we first meet someone, they look at our eyes, and we don't want them to just notice how tired and drawn we look. One of the side effects of ageing, is the deepening of the hollows below your eyes, and this natural sign of ageing happens because; as we age, the soft tissue loses volume. Also, lifestyle factors like stress and lack of sleep can result in dark circles around your eyes.

Volume replacement in the under eye area can reshape the face. Dermal fillers are now used to eliminate the hollows you may have and by filling in these depressions it can take away your tired look and lighten the dark circles around the eyes. Tear trough treatment using dermal fillers is a non-surgical procedure that can restore your looks instantly. The filler gets injected under the skin using very fine needles, re-creating the plump, firm skin that your under eye area used to have.

Benefits of tear trough treatment:
  • Filler will banish under-eye bags
  • It will reduce wrinkles
  • Add volume to the under-eye area
  • Instant results that last 6-8 months
  • Treatment will leave you feeling and looking younger
At Selston Cosmetic Clinic your treatment is in the safe, capable hands of Dr. Bassi, who has many years experience of injecting dermal fillers. He has a trained eye for what looks good and what will suit your face. It's important to avoid an overdone and unnatural look, and in the hands of Dr. Bassi, you will get natural-looking results to make you look younger and more refreshed.

Semi-Permanent Make-Up To Enhance Your Natural Features - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Women want to look their best at all times, and it would be fantastic if they could do it with the least amount of effort. With semi-permanent make-up, it stops you having to apply, reapply and remove make-up every day, and it will always look professionally applied. Just imagine waking up looking fabulous, stepping out of the shower, the pool or the gym, confident that your make-up is still in place.

There are many reasons why people have semi-permanent make-up applied:
Convenience. Some busy women have little time for applying cosmetics every day
Those with sensitive skin or with allergies to conventional make-up
Ageing changes, over plucked eye brows, thinning lips or dull eyes
If they have arthritis or painful shaky hands
Women with vision problems or those who wear glasses or contact lenses
Women who just have sparse hair growth, or have hair loss due to alopecia
Those with oily skin who tend to shed make-up easily

Semi-permanent cosmetic treatment is when we carefully apply semi-permanent pigment into the dermal layer of the skin. The pigment is :
  • A natural iron oxide.
  • It's hypoallergenic
  • There are no fragrances, emollients or other added ingredients
Lip Liner and Lip Blush:
Lip liner treatment can emphasise, correct or define the lips and it can prevent lipstick bleeding. A colour wash over the lip area can beautifully accentuate your lips, giving an attractive soft and natural look. The lip blush involves working along the lip line, defining the shape before progressing down and into the lip, to contour the pigment into your natural lip colour.

Eyeliner/ Lash Liner:
Will give you a result that will complement your existing features and will suit your eye colour. The shape gets drawn on before the treatment, so you can see how the finished result will look. Whether it's a thin understated line, a clearer and more heavily defined liner or maybe an optional flick can add a gorgeous finish to this look.

Eyebrows
Natural looking, beautifully shaped eyebrows can accentuate the eyes, and frame the face, making it look more attractive. Different techniques can achieve different looks, from powdered brows, to microblading, to HD brows or even just adding a few hair strokes to fill in eyebrow gaps.

The results look very natural, making your features look more defined. Although it varies with every person, the results usually last between 3-5 years and in some cases could be longer. At first, the pigment on the treatment area might look darker than you wanted, but after a few days, the colour will lighten by up to 30%.

There's usually minimal discomfort, we can use topical anaesthetics to greatly reduce any minor discomfort and promote relaxation. Most clients feel absolutely nothing during treatment, except a prickly sensation in the area being treated.

Rejuvenate Your Face With A Vampire Facelift - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) also known as the Vampire Facelift, is a cosmetic treatment that's been used for about 8 years with fabulous results. It's a scientific discovery that recruits your body's natural agents, to rejuvenate your face and make you look years younger.

If you don't feel the need to undergo an invasive surgical procedure to improve the look of your skin, then the Vampire Facelift might be the solution you are looking for. When you notice your skin has become less smooth due to ageing, or your skin is looking tired, it might be time to consider a solution. The PRP treatment can give your skin back its youthful texture, glow and rosy colour.

The Vampire Facelift is an innovative treatment that uses the ingredients of your blood to rejuvenate tired, ageing skin along with fine lines and wrinkles. The unique ingredients of your blood are your platelets, and they're converted to platelet rich plasma by the Vampire Facelift technique.

Areas suitable for PRP treatment
For the Vampire Facelift treatment, we take 10 to 20 ml of blood, the same as a standard blood test, and this is then spun to separate blood platelets from the rest of the blood. Once these platelets have been withdrawn from the blood sample, they get injected carefully into the face and this stimulates new collagen formation, and this will result in rejuvenating your skin.

PRP is unique as there is :
  • No risk of allergy or rejection. We are using your own blood.
  • No animal materials involved.
  • Minimal discomfort.
  • Quick procedure, from start to finish of treatment is around one hour.
They injections are relatively painless, and we use a topical anaesthetic. We use very fine needles to inject small amounts of PRP into your skin, and from our experience, 3 treatments, spread 4 weeks apart are enough. The results can last up to 18 months and we recommend a touch up treatment around this time. The beauty of this treatment is that you are using your own blood, so it's completely non-toxic and hypoallergenic.

PRP is a stand alone or add-on treatment to the many cosmetic treatments we already offer at Selston Cosmetic Clinic. It gives good results for treatment of crepiness and wrinkling of the upper and lower eyelids.

It's also an ideal for enhancing the skin texture of the :
  • Eye area
  • Face
  • Neck
  • Hands
  • Acne scarring
At Selston Cosmetic Clinic, Vampire Facelift clients are reporting back subtle improvements in wrinkle reduction, better skin texture and appearance, and their open pores are reducing dramatically.

Dermal Filler Restores Volume in Ageing Hands - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

As we get older, it's our hands that are one of the first areas that tend to show signs of ageing more than other parts of the body. Dry skin, wrinkles and sunspots on the hands are a dead giveaway about our age.

We use our hands all day, every day, whether it's housework, gardening or daily exposure to the weather. The sun, wind and rain, over the years, can cause our hands to become scaly, sun-damaged, wrinkled and veiny, and this all makes them look older than they are.

The hands, face and neck are the most visible areas of the body that are unclothed. People tend to concentrate their beauty regime on their face, using the best moisturisers, anti-ageing serums, sun-creams and make-up to help keep it looking as youthful as possible for as long as possible. The hands however, tend to be overlooked.

Over time the hands lose volume, fat and elasticity and become translucent and wrinkly and this results in the veins, tendons and bony structures becoming more apparent.

Before and after
There are many signs of ageing on the hands:
  • Age / Sun spots - We get pigmentation spots on the hands after years of exposure to the sun and without prevention they will multiply, so when you're applying sun cream, don't forget to rub it into your hands.
  • Prominent veins - Loss of volume that occurs with ageing will leave the hands thinner and bony, and this will make the veins more prominent.
  • Dry skin -  As with the face, a dry, dull complexion will make your hands look older than they are, so putting on an emollient-rich hand cream will help to improve the skin. Always use a hand moisturiser on the hands as dry skin can make the skin look wrinkly.
  • Crepey skin - As we get older, the body produces less collagen. When the hands lose collagen, the skin on the hands gets thinner and starts to look dry and crumpled. UV light also results in collagen damage.
Exposure to the sun can quickly age your hands, but the bigger problem is volume loss. Dermal fillers will restore lost volume and plump up bony hands, making prominent veins look less obvious. A topical anesthetic gets applied before treatment and most dermal fillers contain anesthetic which makes the procedure much less painful and then dermal fillers are delicately inserted through small cannulas. The quality and texture of your skin improves with dermal filler treatment and decreases wrinkles and prominent veins.

Chemical Peels To Achieve A Fresher Younger Looking Skin - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Don't despair at the state of your skin when you look in the mirror, because a spotless, line-free and flawless complexion is lying just beneath the surface of your skin, just waiting for you to discover it!

At Selston Cosmetic Clinic we use chemical peels to improve the skin's appearance. They're a widely used and useful part of cosmetic treatments, which can help a number of skin concerns. Chemical peels are most often used as an anti-ageing treatment, to improve acne and skin discolouration or simply to freshen up the skin.

Chemical peels can refresh the skin, giving your face a healthy looking glow, as well as giving your skin-care products a smoother base to sit on. The procedure basically involves applying an acid-containing solution to your face. The acid lifts away the dead cells in minutes, triggering a chain reaction: causing exfoliation of the top layer of the skin, and once it's shed, the living cells below will multiply and move up. This will increase collagen production, making hyaluronic acid, which results in a fresher, younger looking face.

Benefits of chemical peels:
  • They can reduce or take away blotchy patches that cause the skin to appear dull. They can penetrate deep enough to remove the top layer of skin, which will even out your skin tone.
  • The sun is the main cause of fine lines and wrinkles, and a chemical peel can remove the sun damaged layer of skin, leaving behind a fresh and smooth layer.
  • They leave your skin feeling smoother, revealing a fresh layer of skin, giving a youthful appearance and a much improved skin texture.
  • A chemical peel is a good treatment if you’re suffering from acne and within a few months can help clear up inflammations and even acne scars.
  • The treatment is fast and simple. The average procedure takes around 30-40 minutes.
Regularly removing dead skin cells will freshen up your skin giving it a fresh and youthful glow. It will even out the skin tone, reduce age spots and leave you with a better skin quality. The peels penetrate into the dermis of the skin and stimulate the fibroblasts deep within the skin, producing new and improved collagen and elastin and increasing the skin cell turnover.

Chemical peels offer a quick-fix solution, without the need for surgery. Lasers can target problems such as pigmentation and fine lines, but they can prove expensive, so chemical peels are ideal for customers looking for effective, cheaper options.

Botox for Wrinkles and Lines - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Well, Christmas Day is well and truly over, and now it's just the stress of getting ready for the New Years Eve festivities. And then the following day, having to cope with hosting the New Year's Day family lunch! I'm sure we can feel ourselves looking older and more wrinkly by the minute!

The Christmas period is the time to relax and meet up with friends and family, but unfortunately, the holiday season usually ends up full of worry and stress. Shopping, organising, family arguments and late nights and early mornings, all catch up with us in the end.

Botox is now one of the most common cosmetic treatments in the UK, and at Selston Cosmetic Clinic we offer a Botox Cosmetic Clinic service Monday - Friday, with afternoon and evening appointments and also Saturday morning appointments. Our cosmetic doctor, Dr Bassi, performs all of our Botox treatments. He's trained in basic and advanced Botox techniques and we specialise in giving a soft natural look to your face, meaning that we customise each Botox treatment specifically for you.

Dr Bassi is a fully trained cosmetic practitioner, and he performs careful, technical exact injections, to give your face a fresh, healthy and subtle appearance and not a startled and expressionless look. Botox gets injected using a disposable syringe which has a very fine needle. We inject tiny amounts of Botox very precisely into several specific areas on the face, chosen by carefully examining the movements of your facial muscles.

Laughing, smiling, frowning and worrying, can all contribute to the start of fine lines and wrinkles. As we grow older our bodies will produce less of the natural substances which keep our skin hydrated and firm. So why not transform dull, tired and ageing skin into a fresher, more vibrant and youthful-looking appearance. The results can look stunning, and yet remain subtle.

There are many facial treatments to help smooth wrinkles:
  • Botox
  • Dermal fillers
  • Chemical peels
  • Microdermabrasions
  • and laser skin tightening treatments.

All of these treatments can lessen fine lines and wrinkles resulting in a younger and more rejuvenated appearance, smoothing away laughter lines, forehead wrinkles and crow’s feet.

There are many benefits:

  • Wrinkles and lines get smoothed out, giving a more youthful appearance
  • Prevention of further wrinkles by relaxing the muscles
  • It's a non-invasive, quick treatment with minimal discomfort
At Selston we attempt to keep the Botox injection experience gentle and pain-free and our trained professional team will put you at ease and support you through the experience.
