At Selston Cosmetic Clinic we have a few treatments for tightening up the skin and giving the face a more youthful look. One of our treatments is Pelleve radio frequency skin tightening, which gives results similar to a non-surgical face lift or brow lift!

Pelleve skin tightening treatment is non-invasive, it involves no incisions and there's no bleeding or scarring. First, a protective gel gets applied to the face which will reduce any discomfort. Topical anaesthetics creams can also be used if desired. We can give oral analgesics such as paracetamol or co-codomol to minimize the heat sensation, but Dr. Bassi will discuss pre-treatment pain relief at the time of the first consultation as each patient's needs vary.

Areas suitable for Pelleve skin tightening treatment.

Radio frequency energy heats the collagen in the skin, which tightens the existing collagen and then stimulates new collagen production, which will result in rejuvenated, youthful skin. Radio frequency energy has been used for over 30 years and it's considered a very safe form of treatment. When we apply the radiage wand to the skin, there might be a feeling of brief, mild to intense warming sensation around the treatment area as the radio frequency energy heats and tightens the loose and lax skin of the face and neck. The result is an improvement in skin quality and firmness, which you can see and feel.


Those with mild to moderate wrinkles who have a single Pelleve treatment show immediate improvements in wrinkle reduction and skin laxity, and this continues to improve up to six months after the treatment. The results are immediate and because we don't use anaesthesia, any swelling is minor, there is no recovery time and you can return to work immediately. Very occasionally there is redness of the skin this usually subsides within a few hours.

Depending on which area you choose, the treatment times can range from 20 minutes to 60 minutes. The treatment is suitable for all skin colours with the 30 to 60 year age group responding best to this treatment. Further skin tightening happens over the next 4 to 6 months as more, new collagen is formed. It's recommended that you have 6 to 8 treatments, spaced 2 to 3 weeks apart. The Pelleve radio frequency skin tightening will last for 16-18 months and you can combine Pelleve with any cosmetic treatments.

The result is firmer, tighter younger looking skin.

Roberta here again , giving you an update on skin tightening, which is called Radiage.
Back in June of last year , we launched the treatment called Radiage that tightens your skin. We were getting ok results , but wanted that bit more.........

So we went on further training to London, where we met alot of Radiage specialists and learnt better techniques and skills, giving amazing results! Our clients are already reporting back to me saying their skin feels and looks tighter and smoother. What a fab result!!!

Radiage Skin Tightening – Common Questions

What is Radiage?
Radiage works by using radio frequency to generate heat, which passes through the epidermis (outer layer of the skin) and into the dermis (deeper layer of the skin) to cause some degree of thermal or heat injury. The body then reacts to this "injury" and regenerates, thereby tightening the skin.

How long does the treatment take?
Depending on the areas you have treated, it averages around 20 minutes.

What improvements to my skin may expect with Radiage?
It tightens the skin and can give somewhere between 20-30% skin tightening improvements in most patients, this may seem small but even this amount of tightening gives dramatic results.

Which areas can Radiage be used on?
It can be used for under the eyes and also cheek neck and jowl areas.

Is Radiage safe?
Yes it is safe; Ellman has marked its RF energy devices since 1969.

Is it painful?
Radiage can be performed without anestethic, we recommend local anaestethic cream(EMLA) to be applied 1 hour before hand as Radiage gives a mild to intense heat over the area. To achieve optimum results we have to reach a certain skin tempertures.

How long do the results last?
Treatment results last from 10 to 12 months. Your skin will continue to age and eventually you may wish to have a single top up procedure near the end of this time period.

Recovery time?
Basically there is no recovery time, it is a lunch time procedure. Slight redness may be seen for less than an hour after and no more than 24 hours following the procedure.

How popular is it?
In my experiance, the eye area and jowls are a very popular. With Radiage skin tightening treatment, I have noticed alot of my clients are reporting back to me saying their skin also feels softer and smooth!!

At Selston Cometic Clinic we introduced Radiage skin tightening over 12 months ago. So, what can I tell you about this super treatment?

Well, the device is called Radiage. I was sceptical at first, like all treatments you want to see results. I have been using it on clients over the last year and seeing lasting results for months. The results have been very impressive.

Radiage is one of the latest non-ablative procedures for skin rejuvenation. It is not a laser. It is a Patented Radio Frequency System.
