Remove Fine Facial Hair With Alkaline Wash - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Excess hair, especially the fine, downy hair on the face, can really affect our self-confidence. As most people's facial is very fair, removing it is very difficult. Those with blonde, grey, fine and downy hair might want to have hair removal treatment using lasers, but unfortunately light and heat draws itself to darker colours, so hair which doesn't have any pigmentation becomes very difficult to treat with lasers, and electrolysis treatment would be very time-consuming, as hair growth on the face is usually quite dense.

Unfortunately, as laser removal is typically out of the question for removing fair hair as it gives poor results, any reputable clinic would have no choice but to recommend against having this treatment - but there is an alternative.

At Selston Cosmetic Clinic our practitioner applies a paste made of alkaline powder for a few minutes, which will dissolve part of the underlying follicle beneath the skin. This will release the hair from the follicles, giving you smooth, hair free skin immediately after treatment. With regular treatments, the regrowth becomes slower and ultimately stops.

  • The treatment course is 6 treatments, each treatment is 4 weeks apart
  • No recovery time, you are back to work the next day
  • The full course of treatment results in permanent hair removal
  • The treatment is painless doesn't need anaesthetic
  • The results are immediate
Alkaline wash treatment is most effective when treating fine, blonde, white, grey or downy hair and the hair does not grow back any coarser after this treatment. After the first treatment the hair will normally grow back at its usual rate, but as treatments progress, the re-growth will slow down. It's the perfect removal treatment for downy hair on the face, lip and chin and it's designed for the fine hair on the tender areas of the face that you shouldn't wax, and areas that are difficult to treat with electrolysis or laser.

Alkaline wash can drastically reduce hair growth after 2-3 treatments, leaving some clients happy with the improvement they get, but most continue with the full treatment course, aiming to get rid of all of the unwanted hair. The treatment itself is painless, although in some cases the skin can become red, but this is normal and will only last for a short period.

We can use the alkaline wash treatment as a stand-alone treatment or we can combine it with laser hair removal to give that smooth finished hair free look, so now blonde's can have the benefits of hair removal too.

Alkaline Hair Wash results!

Since launching this new treatment, approximately 3 months ago, I can now give you my personal opinion.........

Clients that are requesting Alkaline hair wash removal, are clients who have completed Laser Hair removal and are left with fluffy fine hair. Also people with fine blonde hair with that downy hair look.

Not only does it remove hair but I have found that it does a very mild superficial skin peel and clients have told me their skin looks and feels smoother and more refined!

When the fluffy hair is removed it makes the skin look smooth and fresh, so when you walk into a room it gives you a presence!

Hair Removal for blonde hair.

The most popular make of treatment at our clinic is Laser Hair Removal, this is for dark and brown hair.

However laser is not suitable for fluffy and fine hair, which is normally, white, blonde or grey. We have find numurous clients asking for treatments for this as they do not want to wax........!

We are now using Alkaline Hair Wash which is used for fine downy hair . This is formulated as a deep action hair remover. This treatment works by dissolving part of the underlying hair follicle beneath the skin. This releases hair from the hair follicle giving smooth, hair free skin immediately after treatment. Alkaline Hair Wash does not stimulate dormant hair follicles as waxing sometimes does.

In our experience up to 6 treatments are needed for this.

Now blonde people can have the benefits of hair removal too!

Laser Hair Removal for Traditionally Incompatible Hair?

I have noticed Laser Hair Removal is becoming very popular here at Selston Cosmetic Clinic and with our state of the art laser system, competitive prices and amazing results, we light to think that is rightly so!

When it comes to those fitting into the standard criteria for laser hair removal we have to say that the results our clients achieve are very impressive, and our clients are in agreement as with us on that.

However our cosmetic team receives numerous enquiries for laser hair removal from clients with blonde hair, fine downy and grey hair. Unfortunately laser hair removal is typically beyond the reach of these hair types and gives very poor results, thus we have no choice but to advise against this treatment... but wait!

Due to the sheer amount of clients whose hair falls into these traditionally untreatable hair types, here at Selston Cosmetic Clinic we have looked into how this issue can be addressed and we are glad to say that soon this will be a reality.

How? Well it is a new treatment called the Alkaline Hair Wash, which can be used as a stand alone treatment or combined with laser hair removal to give that smooth finished hair free look!

We will post more information as we get it so stay tuned for the next update on this amazing new treatment!
