Laser Treatment to Get Rid of Moles - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Lots of us have moles on our face and body, some sit on the skin large and noticeable, while other moles are most probably small, neat and unobtrusive. Todays society unfairly criticises and makes fun of people with moles, especially those on the face.

Almost everyone has at least one or more moles on their skin and nearly all of them are harmless. Moles are blemishes of different sizes and colours that are commonly seen on the body or face. They occur when cells in the skin grow in a cluster, instead of spreading out over the skin. Moles are usually pigmented, often a brownish colour, although some might be darker or skin-coloured. They might be flat or raised, smooth or rough, and some have hair growing from them. Moles are usually circular or oval with a smooth edge.

Having a mole might be irritating, annoying and even painful and having them can really affect our self-esteem. Catching them on jewellery and clothes can also be irritating, and shaving could be very risky, trying to shave around the mole without catching it. Unlike a concealed mole on your back or leg, a mole on the face or those on the neck, are there for everyone to see.

There are a few ways to get rid of unwanted moles:
  • Radio Frequency Mole Removal: This is one of the most effective non-surgical treatments for taking away moles. It's state of the art technology which produces radio waves which instantly vaporises the moles, and results in minimal scarring.
  • Laser Mole Removal: A state of the art laser system which can remove simple moles on the face, giving excellent cosmetic results, with negligible scarring or marks.

At Selston Cosmetic Clinic you will have a mole removal consultation with our experienced cosmetic physician Dr. Bassi, where he'll take a clinical history. He will examine the mole and then recommend a method of mole removal. If clinically it's deemed necessary, Dr Bassi will excise the mole and send it away for histology.

These non-surgical cosmetic treatments are simple, quick, and painless and the results are instant. At Selston Cosmetic Clinic the procedure is performed under local anaesthetic and there are no incisions and no stitches. It takes just one single visit to the clinic, and full healing occurs within 4-6 weeks.

Replace Lost Volume in Your Lips - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Over time, the volume of our lips will deplete, leaving them with a thinner, flatter appearance. We aren't all blessed with naturally full lips, many of us need a little help to achieve the fullness that we want.

The amount of dermal filler needed varies from person to person, as someone with very thin lips would need more than someone with lips that are already quite naturally plump. Of course, everyone has different ideas about how much volume they would like to add to their lips.

Filler doesn't usually change the shape of the lips to a great degree, it actually enhances the volume and voluptuousness of the lips, but it can help to elevate the corners of the mouth to create a slightly happier and relaxed look and not having the 'down in the mouth' look that sometimes comes with ageing.

A lip enhancement treatment using dermal fillers is a quick and safe way to give you fuller lips with a natural freshness, and it can also minimise fine lines and wrinkles along the edges of the lips. Most people who are thinking about a lip enhancement procedure want fuller lips that are smooth, plump, wrinkle-free and youthful looking.

Having dermal fillers injected into the lips can sometimes make people nervous, they worry that they'll get massively inflated lips, but this isn't the reality. If you have always dreamed of full, sensuous lips, then Doctor Bassi at Selston Cosmetic Clinic can help you to get beautiful natural looking lips which will suit you and your face. We can adjust the amount of lip filler to suit the need of each client.

Once the dermal filler gets injected, you will see an instant result, with fuller, well-defined, contoured lips. The fillers used are hyaluronic acid based, which is a natural part of the body, meaning the risk of an adverse reaction to the procedure is very small. Changes in the lip shape can create fullness and can also correct asymmetry. Dermal fillers for the lips are one of the most popular aesthetic treatments available and are a very quick and easy way to dramatically improve your look.

A reputable clinic will always discuss what you do, and what you don't want at your consultation. Dr Bassi, is our fully trained, very experienced, specialist cosmetic doctor with over 10 years experience in injectable treatments. The effects typically last around 6-9 months. After that you'll need more injections to top-up the volume of your lips.

Lip Filler Treatment in Time For Christmas - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

There aren't many of us blessed with perfect lips, some have thin flat lips and others have lines and wrinkles around the edges of the mouth. Sometimes we need a little help to get the lips we wish we had. When people look at us, our lips are often the focus of attention, and the shape and fullness that we would like isn't always there. Like the rest of our body, the passing of time will eventually show on our lips and they'll start to lose volume, we'll notice fine lines and wrinkles around the edges and get lipstick bleeding into the creases.

Sometimes we get self-conscious about our smile, or we notice our lip starting to disappear when we speak or smile, or maybe we simply want to balance out the upper and bottom lip proportions, this is the time to consider dermal fillers. Enhancing the lips can accentuate our facial appearance and dermal filler treatment can put back the volume in the lips and restore their shape. It's a safe, fast and well-tolerated treatment, which leaves the lips looking and feeling natural.

Although ageing plays a part in forming lip lines, the good news is that we can do something about it. At Selston Cosmetic Clinic we have had fantastic results using lip fillers to add volume to the lips and to banish lip creases. Dr Bassi is a fully trained cosmetic practitioner in advanced filler techniques, and as no two faces are the same, he tailors every filler treatment to each client.

At the clinic we recommend any of the following fillers for lip crease correction;
  • Restylane range
  • Juvederm Ultra 2
  • Teosyal Fine Lines

The lip procedure takes about 20-30 minutes and there'll be a small amount of swelling afterwards and maybe some bruising. The swelling usually resolves itself within a day or two, but any minor bruising can easily be covered with make-up.

A lip treatment can add volume to the lips and take the lines from around the mouth, it will enhance the look of the entire face and give you some added confidence. With Christmas and the festive party season fast approaching, what better time to enhance the lips so they're ready to pucker up under the mistletoe.

RadioFrequency to Remove Unwanted Moles - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Moles are marks that can appear anywhere on your skin in various colours and sizes. They can look attractive on some people if they're placed strategically on the face, but for others, they are a nightmare and a big cause of self-consciousness. Moles are usually dark in colour and have a texture, making them difficult to disguise with a cosmetic foundation or concealer make-up.

The main cause of moles are usually a result of spending excess time in the sun, but some people will get moles with or without sun exposure, and they can also develop on non-exposed areas as well. Over time moles can change and they can grow in number.

Before and after Radio Frequency treatment
Some moles can fade away and sometimes they change because of hormonal changes, such as:
  • Pregnancy -  the mole might get slightly darker
  • In teenage years - moles might increase in number
  • Ageing - they might start to disappear from age 40 to 50 and onwards
The average adult might have between 10-40 moles on their face and body at any one time. Most of these are harmless and should cause no concern at all, but you should look out for any changes in them and regularly check your skin. Moles are irregular, they can change their colour which can lead to bigger issues, and there is definitely a need to keep an eye on your moles if you find they are growing in size, as the growth of a mole can indicate a possible sign of skin cancer.

Moles can result from sunburn or any skin imperfection and they can appear black, brown, or any other colour. Exposure to the sun is the main cause of moles but inherited genes from our parents can also be a cause.

Selston Cosmetic Clinic uses radio surgery for mole removal. This method produces radio waves which instantly vaporises the moles, and this results in much less scarring. The results will improve over the following 3-4 months, leaving minimal scarring.

At your Selston appointment, Dr Bassi will take a clinical history and check the mole, and if required he will analyse it using a state of the art skin scanner system, and if it's deemed necessary, send the excised mole away for histology.

Benefits;
  • There are no permanent side effects.
  • Treatment takes less than an hour.
  • It won’t leave scars on the skin.
  • It is a non-invasive and non-surgical procedure.

Dermal Filler For Beautiful Enhanced Lips at Selston - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

If you're dissatisfied with the way your mouth or lips look, then you’re not alone. Many of us dislike our smile lines, the marionette creases, the lip shape and smoker's lines. As we get older, our face starts to lose volume and elasticity, making parts of our faces, such as the lips, look flatter and thinner.

Lip augmentation treatment can;
  • Add more volume to thin lips
  • Balance out uneven lips
  • Create a pronounced cupids bow
  • Define and shape the lip border
  • Reduce fine smokers lines
Lip fillers enhance the lip volume for those people who are unhappy with the size or shape of their lips. We might want to balance out the upper and bottom lip proportions, or feel self-conscious that the lip appears to disappear when we speak or smile. The lip fillers are made up of hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found in the body, and this helps the skin keep its softness and moisture, while increasing the volume.

The natural shape and structure of your lips will influence the shape and volume that the practitioner can achieve. Extra volume on lips which are already full usually gives great results, however this might not look as good on thin lips. We also have to consider the age of the client, and visualise what will look good on a young woman might look out-of-place on the more mature woman. The younger client often go for a fuller pout, where older women want a bit of volume, as well as rejuvenation of the area around the lips for a more natural result.

There are many ways to enhance your lips, depending on what you want the result to look like, and you and the practitioner will decide which look will suit your face.

At your appointment your practitioner can inject;
  • Both lips
  • Add volume into either the top lip or the bottom lip
  • Plump up both lips and the vermillion border
  • Enhance the cupid's bow

Women of all ages come to Selston to have their lips enhanced, with the younger women usually wanting a fuller looking lip, while the more mature women usually opting for a more subtle look. As we age, the upper and lower lips become less full, the cupid’s bow can become flatter, there's less definition on the borders and the mouth can start to droop downwards at the corners.

One of the most common reasons that clients come to see Dr Bassi at Selston Cosmetic Clinic is because they are unhappy with their lips. Dr Bassi can enhance their size and shape with dermal fillers, giving the lips greater volume and a fuller appearance.

Stay Safe When Choosing Where To Have Botox Injections - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Over the past decade, there's been a big upsurge in people having botox treatments to help keep the fine lines and wrinkles at bay. Practitioners have used botox for over 30 years now and it's a proven safe procedure for facial injections. There are very few side effects associated with botox and allergies are rare. The cost of botox varies from clinic to clinic, and when compared, the cost of botox in top cosmetic clinics in London and the South can easily be double the price of clinics further North.

Botox, indeed any injectable treatment, should always be performed by a medical professional in a sterile environment, and certainly not at home at a botox party. These so-called botox parties are when groups of women gather at someone's home and either self-inject or have botox administered by inexperienced hands, a scenario that can quite easily go terribly wrong. When botox isn't injected properly, or isn't injected in the precise place, there's a danger you could end up with the wrong muscles being paralysed, or you could be left with droopy eyelids and eyebrows, or at worse, the injection could even paralyse the muscles that move your eyeball, which can give you problems that can ultimately affect your eyesight.

Over the last few years there have been multiple reported cases about botox parties which have gone wrong, with untrained practitioners injecting cheap botox that's been purchased over the Internet. Lots of these parties have ended badly, resulting in significant bruising, facial asymmetry and permanent scarring and without any access to follow-up treatment. When botox gets administered by an untrained person, the risk of infection is higher than with a fully trained provider, and if any problems happen afterwards there's no access to follow-up care. Injectable treatment in a non medical setting puts people at risk, with the risks greatly outweighing the benefits.

Those who administer botox should have full training, as the procedure requires a high level of expertise, along with talent and an artistic eye for the craft. If you see an offer for botox that's a lot lower than the standard price, it's very likely that some compromises have been made; either in the skill of the person giving the injections or the amount or quality of product being used. So to remain safe, if you want any cosmetic treatment, it's always advisable to go a clinic where you'll be guaranteed the best service and you'll know that you are having your treatment at a medically regulated premise.

Prepare Yourself for Vaser Lipo Treatment - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

It goes without saying that before undergoing any cosmetic procedures, such as vaser lipo, to remove unwanted fat, you should ideally try to lose as much excess fat as you can. Healthy eating and exercising in the months before, will make sure that you get the best results possible from your treatment. At Selston Cosmetic Clinic, before you actually have vaser lipo treatment, you'll have a free consultation with Dr Bassi, when you’ll be able to talk in detail about why you want vaser, the technique he'll use, the length of recovery time and the results you want to achieve.

Dr Bassi has a portfolio of before and after photo's of previous vaser clients, so you can see for yourself the results he has achieved, and the difference it’s made for their bodies. A face-to-face consultation with the doctor who's doing your procedure will allow him to examine you, see which areas of your body that you're unhappy with, realistically discuss what results that you can expect, and work with you to get the right outcome for you and your body.

After being involved in the aesthetic industry for more than 10 years, Dr Bassi holds multiple qualifications and continues to develop his vaser lipo techniques to provide the most cutting-edge treatments.

Those considering having vaser lipo usually have a lot of questions, including:
  • How good will my results be?
  • What are the benefits and risks?
  • How well-trained is my doctor?
  • Can I see before and after photo's of my doctor's previous results?
  • Is the vaser lipo procedure painful?
  • How long does swelling and bruising last?
  • What can I expect before, during, and after a vaser lipo procedure?
  • How much does it cost?

At your consultation, Dr Bassi will give you a list of things that you're expected to do, or avoid. But there are also other things you should consider, to properly prepare yourself for vaser lipo treatment.

Prepare for your recovery time
After your treatment you'll need to arrange time off work (for a large procedure) and put off any physically demanding responsibilities until you have recovered.  During the early days of your recovery, you might need to have someone on hand to give you some help.

Medication
It's in your best interests to let the cosmetic doctor know of all tablets and supplements you're taking, because medications can interfere with your body’s blood clotting ability. So at least two weeks before your treatment you need to stop taking all forms of cold and sinus medication, vitamin E tablets, nutritional supplements, non-steroidal inflammatory medication, etc.

Smoking
It would be better to stop smoking cigarettes altogether, but if you are unable to do so, then it's advisable to quit smoking at least two months before the procedure. Smoking slows down blood flow to the skin, increasing the risk of circulation problems after treatment and this might affect your results. Smoking can cause poor wound healing, which can increase your recovery time. If you are considering vaser lipo then it would be better if you gave up smoking altogether.

Post-procedure supplies
Before your vaser procedure make sure you stock up on the necessary supplies, including pain relief medication, compression garments and bandages. If you live alone you'll need a good supply of food, toiletries etc. You don’t want to run out of supplies if there's nobody around to help replenish them.

Vaser Lipo Treatment For Male Abs - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Nowadays men have definite ideas on how they want their bodies to look, and they're determined to get it looking as good as it can possibly be. Whether it's spending hours in the gym, eating a healthy diet or drinking protein shakes, sometimes it's just not enough. Blokes strive to get an athletic body and it can feel so frustrating, when you've put in all the hard work and you're slimmer and fitter, but still haven't got the exact look you were after, and you're left with stubborn areas of fat that just won't shift.

Vaser lipo can provide a quick, low-pain solution when you have resistant fat that you want gone. At your free consultation at Selston Cosmetic Clinic, Dr Bassi can advise you about potential areas for vasering, your anticipated results, and the recovery process.

We recently treated a client at the clinic who had put in the hours at the gym and lost some weight, but unfortunately, even after months of hard work it was clear that he just wasn't going to achieve the definition on his abdomen that he was hoping for. After vaser treatment with Dr Bassi, he finally has the body he's always wanted.

Before and after vaser lipo

Advantages of vaser lipo include:
  • Speedy recovery - vaser is a gentle ultrasound procedure that's minimally invasive, making it less traumatic than traditional liposuction, and with less downtime for the clients.
  • Precision - vaser lipo can deliver a precise body contouring treatment, allowing extraction of both large and small volumes of fat from different parts of the body. When sculpting the muscle definition, the cosmetic doctor can use more precision to create an aesthetically pleasing result.
  • Skin retraction - the vaser's ultrasound high energy promotes retraction of the skin, leaving the body with smooth contours.
  • Safety - vaser lipo is a safe and minimally invasive procedure that rids the body of excess fat, and the treatment gets performed using local aesthetic.

Vaser lipo is the best, most gentle way of removing localised fat available and it can also give a small degree of skin tightening. Dr Bassi will make tiny incisions in the abdomen, before inserting the small vaser probe. Vaser lipo breaks up the fat cells with ultrasound energy, delivered by the vaser probes. It dissolves the fat cells while leaving other structures, such as nerves, blood vessels and connective tissue undisturbed. It's performed under local anaesthetic and the results are immediate.

You should consider vaser lipo because:
  • It will decrease those stubborn pockets of fat that won't go away through dieting and exercising alone.
  • It can help create a more balanced and proportioned body.
  • Vaser lipo will give the body more definition creating a more athletic appearance.
  • Your body confidence and self-esteem will improve.

Correct Dark Circles & Tear Troughs - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Deep hollows under the eyes can ruin the overall appearance of a youthful looking face, leaving you looking tired and aged. As we get older, the more we can expect to notice certain changes in our face, such as dark circles and the deepening of the hollows under our eyes, which are also known as the tear troughs.

In our youth, the area beneath the eye is plump and firm, but as time passes it starts to lose volume, and we develop a sunken dip under the eyes. These hollows are usually caused by the thinning of the skin and sagging cheek tissues. Over time the hollows can change in appearance and become longer, deeper and more shadowed.

We use creams, concealers, cucumber slices, serums and even used tea-bags to help disguise our ageing eyes, and help keep them looking youthful. The eyes are the first thing people notice when they look at us, so we want them to look their best. The tear troughs occur due to the thinning of the overlying skin and soft tissue over the bony orbital rim and happens as a result of either the ageing process, genetics or can also be caused by sun damage.

Tear troughs run from the nose side of each eye, in an arc under the lower eyelid. Most people complain of a tired looking appearance due to the darkness caused by the shadow. Troughs happen when we lose volume in the tissue under the eye and above the cheek and are often seem worse in appearance when we're tired or dehydrated.

Filler treatment for tear troughs is ideal for:
  • Sunken eyes
  • Dark circles under the eyes
  • Tired looking eyes
  • Eye bags
Dermal filler treatment for tear troughs, involves injecting filler into the delicate area under the eye to make subtle enhancements to the tear troughs by filling in the hollow areas. Having a detailed knowledge of the anatomy is essential and at Selston Cosmetic Clinic, Dr. Bassi has over 10 years experience as a specialist cosmetic practitioner and has performed thousands of injectable treatments. We use hyaluronic acid fillers, which are a substance that naturally occurs in the body, they are non animal based and very safe to use. They fill out the hollows and lines under the eyes and they help to mask any dark circles with light reflecting technology.

To minimise any discomfort, a topical anaesthetic cream gets applied about 20 minutes before the  treatment starts, numbing the skin and easing any discomfort. The dermal filler treatment only takes twenty to thirty minutes to complete, and the results are instant and lasts up to twelve months. There's minimal downtime, although you may have a little bruising, as the skin under the eye is very delicate.

Erase Fine Lines & Wrinkles With Botox - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Botox injections have been safely used for some years now, and it's become one of the most popular anti-ageing treatments on the market, due to its safety and effectiveness. We must always remember that despite Botox's popularity and its increasing use, the treatment is still a medical procedure, and only a fully trained and highly experienced cosmetic doctor or nurse practitioner should carry out this treatment.
  • Always check out the practitioners qualifications.
  • Avoid gimmicks, such as: two for the price of one or introduce a friend and get a discount.
  • Always make sure the place you go to have treatment is clean.
  • The cheapest priced treatment isn't always the best.
  • Check out their before and after photos and see what results they achieve.

Dr Bassi is highly trained in botox techniques and at your free consultation at Selston Cosmetic Clinic, he will discuss what requirements you have, and what your expectations are. Dr Bassi has performed thousands of botox treatments and our client base is increasing year upon year, mainly by word of mouth client recommendations.

We inject botox into specific muscles and this relaxes the muscles and prevents contraction. The repeated contractions of the muscles are what cause the skin to crease, making fine lines appear. We administer botox with fine needles, making the procedure quite painless. Afterwards you might get slight swelling and redness and with any procedure there's the risk of bruising, but this is minimal and can easily be covered by make up.

Botox, when done properly, should leave your face looking relaxed and refreshed, with no-one being able to tell you’ve had wrinkle reduction treatment. By choosing the right cosmetic doctor to achieve your aim, your appearance will look much improved, but still remain looking completely natural.

Botox can also  be used to:
  • Reduce over active frown / expression lines.
  • Reduce crows feet/ lines and wrinkles
  • Correcting lines from repeated facial expression and worry lines
  • Give you an eye lift
  • Correct eyebrows that look uneven
  • Tighten the jaw line
  • Correct the down-ward-turning corners around each side of the lips
  • Treat migraines
  • Treat hyperhidrosis (armpit sweating)
Continuity is always a good idea, so if you are having botox, fillers or any treatment where you go back for top up's and more treatments, it's wise to use the same practitioner who knows what you want, what you are hoping to achieve and who knows your face. At Selston Cosmetic Clinic, Dr Bassi has attended many conferences and courses, and his skills are always being updated.

A Non-Surgical Nose Job For a Perfect Facial Profile - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

A non-surgical nose job using dermal fillers, is a great alternative that's available to those interested in improving or just enhancing the shape of their noses, without going through the pain, the cost and the recovery time, that's associated with a surgical nose job. However, a nose job using fillers can't make the nose smaller or correct deformities, but it can enhance the nose balance and correct asymmetry, as well as bridge augmentation and straightening your profile.

The non-surgical nose job is also known as the liquid nose job and is an ideal option for those who are unhappy with their nose shape but don't want invasive surgery. Using dermal filler treatment means there's minimal downtime, the results are instant and there's no need for a general anaesthetic.

You'll be a good candidate for nose reshaping if you want to :
  • Straighten and soften a bump on the bridge of the nose
  • Correct a nose that requires more height and definition.
  • Define a nose following a surgical rhinoplasty
  • Amend a slightly crooked nose
  • Correct a hooked shape or a mild drooping of the nasal tip

At Selston Cosmetic Clinic the non-surgical nose job treatment begins with numbing cream getting applied to the outside of the nose. A fine needle injects Radiesse dermal filler into precise locations on the nose. The Radiesse filler does not migrate or lump together in the tissues and when it does break down, 8 to 10 months later, it does so symmetrically and evenly. The filler injections will take anywhere between 20-30 minutes to complete. The procedure results aren't permanent and will need future top-up treatments.

With dermal filler treatment the results are instant. After the procedure, the treated area may seem slightly red or swollen, but you can resume normal activities, and return to work immediately after the procedure. The results usually last 8 to 10 months, although the exact time will depend on the structure of your skin, lifestyle and age. Additional treatments can easily be performed any time after the first treatment.

At Selston Cosmetic Clinic, Dr Bassi, who is a skilled, experience doctor, performs the non-surgical rhinoplasty. It's an ideal treatment that's quick, with no cuts or scars, has minimal downtime and will transform your appearance.

Botox Injections to Relax & Soften the Face - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

One of the main things that makes people nervous of having botox injections, is the thought of leaving the clinic with a mask like expression on their face. But botox doesn't have to leave you with a frozen looking face, because when it's done properly, it can make you looking younger, fresher and more vibrant. Tell-tale signs of badly injected botox, are a smooth and shiny forehead, or a face that doesn't move when you laugh or cry.

Once you have decided to have botox treatment, you must find a qualified and experienced doctor. A good cosmetic doctor must have a good knowledge about facial anatomy and skin.

We built the Selston Cosmetic Clinic on the strong foundation of Dr Bassi's 26 years of experience in medicine;
  • Dr Bassi has been a part of the aesthetic industry for over 10 years and has a keen passion for human aesthetics.
  • He is fully trained in botox and advanced botox techniques and has performed thousands of procedures.
  • Dr Bassi continues to develop his techniques to provide the most up to date treatments to meet all the individual needs of all our clients.
  • He has successfully performed thousands of botox procedures, and is always updating and perfecting his technique, by attending lots of conferences in facial aesthetics.
  • Dr Bassi tailors his facial remodelling treatments to suit each patient, using artistry and scientific principles of beauty.

Before having any botox treatment, a consultation with Dr Bassi will be necessary. At the free consultation, he'll be able to tell you of the benefits, as well as any potential risks that might be associated with botox treatment. At the clinic we have a high client satisfaction rate and have many returning clients. Selston Cosmetic Clinic prides itself on delivering a professional, cost-effective service, which is well received by our clients.

The furrows that develop between the brows can give you an expression of intense concentration or even make you look angry. Relaxing these wrinkles will give your face a softer, more relaxed expression. A small amount of botox gets injected into the muscle that has created the wrinkle, and this results in the muscle relaxing, which softens the look of the wrinkles.

Botox is most commonly used to reduce frown lines between the eyebrows, forehead, crow’s feet or laughter-lines. Botox treatment isn't just about making you look more youthful, but more about making you look fresher and rejuvenated.

Vaser Lipo to Eliminate Back & Bra Fat - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Vaser lipo is suitable for women and men, and is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures available. It's a procedure which  allows you to achieve definition, curves and will alter your shape and dress size. Vaser lipo is a body sculpting treatment, it's not designed as a weight loss treatment.

All women want to look and feel beautiful, but unfortunately there are certain things that can ruin our perfect look, whether it's the fat on our stomach, flabby thighs or bingo wings. One of the most unflattering things, is the bulge on our back, around the bra line area, which causes your bra to dig in, and the bulges to show from under tops and summer dresses. Wearing strapless and low back clothes is out of the question and it can ruin a smooth, sleek silhouette.

Many women struggle to get rid of back or bra fat. It's possible to have a healthy lifestyle and have a lean, athletic figure but still have stubborn areas of fat that refuse to go away. Unfortunately, no matter how strict your diet or how much you exercise, the back is one of the hardest areas of the body to lose fat and create tone.  Excess fat in this area can make your clothes fit uncomfortably, making you seem bigger than you actually are, and even when you’re fit and healthy, this added fat can have a profound effect on your self-esteem and body image.

At Selston Cosmetic Clinic, our ideal client is very close to their natural body weight, maybe carrying an extra couple of kilos, but isn't obese. When fatty deposits are just found in localised areas of the body; such as tummy, back, love handles or thighs, then the vaser results are much more defined and noticeable.

During your vaser lipo procedure, Dr Bassi will numb the treatment area with local anaesthetic. He will make tiny incisions, usually in the skin's natural creases so they'll be unnoticeable after the procedure. Small vaser probes get inserted, which will direct ultrasound energy into the fat cells, then we emulsify the fat cells which are then easily removed with a suction cannula.

Vaser has the potential to dramatically enhance the body’s shape. If you get into a healthy diet and an exercise routine before vaser lipo treatment, it will help you maintain your results after the procedure. The best candidates for the vaser lipo are those who are in good health and at a healthy starting weight.

Vaser Lipo on the Tummy Before and After - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Sometimes, even though we might lead an active lifestyle, we may find that over time we've put on weight that we just can't shift. Whether we gain weight through our metabolism slowing down, the menopause, genetics or just good living - it's better to get rid of the extra fat than to carry it round with us! Vaser lipo is an ideal way to sculpt and define the body and target those problem areas. If you are fit and well, within or close to your BMI and have skin that is still elastic, then you will reap the rewards from vaser lipo.

Vaser Lipo is the number one procedure for fat removal. We perform vaser under local anaesthetic, so you're wide awake and chatting throughout your treatment. The procedure can also be done under twilight sedation, but this will increase the cost of your treatment as it requires an anaesthetist. Most clients opt for vaser lipo as it's a safer way of  having lipo and doesn't involve being put to sleep. After your treatment, you can go home the same day and get  on with your life, no hospital stay and no big downtime as for traditional liposuction.

At Selston Cosmetic Clinic, this woman (photo below) came to us asking about vaser lipo on her tummy and flanks. She decided to have her full front done in one procedure, then come back and have her flanks done another day. Dr. Bassi did a vaser procedure on her upper and lower abs. She came back to the clinic for her post-op after-care, and from day two her tummy was looking extremely flat. She had more massages with us at the clinic and her boyfriend pummelled her in between our sessions.

She did return at a later date to have her flanks done, but by that time she was looking that good from having her full front done that she didn't need the flanks doing. The photo above shows her on the day before her first treatment and the photo below, just four weeks post op.

4 weeks after vaser lipo treatment
Post op care after vaser lipo is vital as it ensures you keep the result the procedure has left you with. The clinic's view is that Dr. Bassi does 50% of the work and the other 50% is down to you, and how you look after the result afterwards. It's so important to make sure that everything is kept smooth with ultrasound and massage. Dr. Bassi gives a bespoke after-care package specifically tailored for you and your particular procedure which you should follow to the letter, as any shortcuts can affect your result.

So if you're thinking of having vaser lipo treatment, come along to Selston Cosmetic Clinic for a free consultation with Dr. Bassi and he will give you all the information you need to make that important decision!

Botox for Wrinkles and Lines - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Well, Christmas Day is well and truly over, and now it's just the stress of getting ready for the New Years Eve festivities. And then the following day, having to cope with hosting the New Year's Day family lunch! I'm sure we can feel ourselves looking older and more wrinkly by the minute!

The Christmas period is the time to relax and meet up with friends and family, but unfortunately, the holiday season usually ends up full of worry and stress. Shopping, organising, family arguments and late nights and early mornings, all catch up with us in the end.

Botox is now one of the most common cosmetic treatments in the UK, and at Selston Cosmetic Clinic we offer a Botox Cosmetic Clinic service Monday - Friday, with afternoon and evening appointments and also Saturday morning appointments. Our cosmetic doctor, Dr Bassi, performs all of our Botox treatments. He's trained in basic and advanced Botox techniques and we specialise in giving a soft natural look to your face, meaning that we customise each Botox treatment specifically for you.

Dr Bassi is a fully trained cosmetic practitioner, and he performs careful, technical exact injections, to give your face a fresh, healthy and subtle appearance and not a startled and expressionless look. Botox gets injected using a disposable syringe which has a very fine needle. We inject tiny amounts of Botox very precisely into several specific areas on the face, chosen by carefully examining the movements of your facial muscles.

Laughing, smiling, frowning and worrying, can all contribute to the start of fine lines and wrinkles. As we grow older our bodies will produce less of the natural substances which keep our skin hydrated and firm. So why not transform dull, tired and ageing skin into a fresher, more vibrant and youthful-looking appearance. The results can look stunning, and yet remain subtle.

There are many facial treatments to help smooth wrinkles:
  • Botox
  • Dermal fillers
  • Chemical peels
  • Microdermabrasions
  • and laser skin tightening treatments.

All of these treatments can lessen fine lines and wrinkles resulting in a younger and more rejuvenated appearance, smoothing away laughter lines, forehead wrinkles and crow’s feet.

There are many benefits:

  • Wrinkles and lines get smoothed out, giving a more youthful appearance
  • Prevention of further wrinkles by relaxing the muscles
  • It's a non-invasive, quick treatment with minimal discomfort
At Selston we attempt to keep the Botox injection experience gentle and pain-free and our trained professional team will put you at ease and support you through the experience.

FUE Hair Transplant Treatment - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

At Selston Cosmetic Clinic, we offer the most advanced hair transplantation procedure available on the market today. Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) was developed by renowned hair transplant surgeon Dr. Raghu Reddy. Dr. Reddy's main practice is in Harley Street, London and his satellite clinic serving the North and Midlands is at Selston Cosmetic Clinic.

We offer a complete care programme at Selston Cosmetic Clinic, from the initial consultation and diagnosis by Dr. Bassi, when you'll decide where you want your new hairline, and then have it marked and photographed, to the day of the procedure performed by Dr. Raghu Reddy and his team.

On your arrival at Selston Cosmetic Clinic, your hair transplant team will review your procedure consent form with you and answer any questions you may have. Before the procedure we use a computerized digital scanning to find the strongest donor follicles and to protect future hair loss, and your consultant will now mark your scalp.

You'll be offered a sedative, such as Valium, to relax you before the start of your procedure and you'll decide if you want to listen to music, watch movies, or just chat with staff during the procedure. A local anaesthetic is applied around the perimeter of the scalp and once the scalp is entirely numb, the rest of your procedure is completely pain-free.

The 3rd GENERATION FUE Hair Transplant Technique is an amazing hair restoring treatment with 100% results guaranteed and what's better, is that there are no stitches, no scars and no pain! We transplant the hair to the areas where you need thickening or regrowth, leaving you with natural looking, long-lasting results.

This hair restoration technique precisely targets and transplants only strong, healthy hair follicles which aren't sensitive to testosterone. This results in the hair loss in your bald / thinning areas being restored permanently. It's a minimally invasive treatment, using custom-made micro-surgical tools, used by the specialist hair transplant surgeons to ensure a single minimally invasive procedure without unsightly scarring.

The FUE hair transplant procedure doesn't need a donor area, instead the hair follicles are directly extracted one by one using custom-made, precise micro-surgical tools which are less than a millimeter in diameter. The Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is simple and painless and the extraction area heals within 5 days with no risk of nerve damage.

Follicle Unit Transplantation (FUT) is the hair restoration procedure when we transplant the extracted hairs into the bald or thinning areas in their naturally occurring groups of 1 to 4 hairs. We place single hairs at the hairline and transplant groups of 2/3/4 for density behind the hairline.
