Slow Down Facial Ageing With Botox Injections - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

The signs of ageing can get you down, and seeing lines and wrinkles can knock your confidence and make you feel insecure when we start looking older. So if you're beginning to see an increase in wrinkles, or you're noticing fine lines on your face, or maybe you feel you just don't look as youthful and bright as you used to, then botox might be the answer to help reducing or eliminating those ageing wrinkles.

Botox Treatment Before and After

Botox injections are one of the most popular anti-ageing treatments on the market, thanks to its safety and effectiveness. But we must always remember that despite Botox's popularity and its increasing use, the treatment is still a medical procedure, and only a fully trained and highly experienced cosmetic doctor or nurse practitioner should carry out this treatment.
Botox treatment can also be used for:
  • Over active frown
  • Crows feet, fine lines and wrinkles
  • Correcting lines from repeated facial expression and worry lines
  • An eye lift
  • Correcting uneven eyebrows
  • Tightening the jaw line
  • Correcting the downward corners at each side of the lips
  • Treating migraines
  • Treating hyperhidrosis (armpit sweating)
Always choose a highly trained cosmetic practitioner to inject your botox treatment, as they will have performed lots of botox treatments, have a large client base and will have lots of before and after photo's, and they will have reviews and recommendations of their work that you can look at.

At your consultation you will discuss what requirements you have, and what your expectations are. When botox is properly done, no-one will be able to tell that you've had any treatment, the injections will just leave your face looking relaxed and refreshed. By choosing the right cosmetic doctor to achieve your aim, your appearance will look much improved, but will still remain looking completely natural.

*  Always check that the practitioners qualifications are authentic
*  Don't book because of offers like two for the price of one, or introduce a friend and get a discount
*  Make sure you have treatment in a clinic which is clean
Be aware that the cheapest priced treatment won't always be the best
Look at their before and after photos to check what results they achieve
Check online to see reviews to get recommendations
*  Ask around for word of mouth reviews

Continuity is always a good idea, so for any treatment where you go back for top up's and more treatments, it's wise to use the same practitioner who knows what you want, what you are hoping to achieve and who knows your face.

Smooth Away Wrinkles with Botox - Nottingham, Derby,Mansfield & Chesterfield

Ageing affects every area of the body, but of all the changes that occur, the changes in the face are the most obvious. Wrinkles and fine lines are the most common signs of ageing which form through smiling, squinting, smoking, and any other repeated facial movement. Most of our wrinkles develop because of damage to the skin, with the most damage coming from excess exposure to sunlight.

It's never too late to slow down signs of ageing and even those who are already starting to show some early skin ageing can benefit from making some lifestyle changes.

The rate of facial ageing will increase:
  • When the skin becomes dehydrated it leaves the skin looking flat and dull, and the dryness will make the wrinkles show up more.
  • Lighter skin tones also more prone to sun damage making the daily application of sunscreen essential.
  • Repeated facial expressions like smiling, squinting and frowning often cause the first of your wrinkles to form.
  • Heredity plays a role in how we age. The timing at which we start to develop wrinkles is partly influenced through genetics.
  • Smoking can add fine lines and wrinkles to the mouth, causing lipstick to bleed its colour into the lip wrinkles.
  • Sleeping on the same side every night, will repeatedly press and squash the face to the pillow.
Even if you have great genes and look younger than you are, there's no way to avoid the ageing changes in your facial appearance. The changes that appear on our face, are reflections our happiness and life challenges, and we can either learn to love these changes, or decide to do something about them.

Botox is a prescription medicine that's injected into the facial muscles to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows and crows feet at the sides of the eyes. As long as you're treated by a medical expert, trained in facial anatomy, you will look younger and refreshed and you won't lose the ability to express any emotions or expressions.

These days we are all familiar with botox treatment, used to smooth away fine lines and wrinkles on different areas on the face, depending on the way your muscles of facial expression work. Botox treatments can easily be combined with treatments such as chemical peels, microdermabrasion and dermal fillers, which can also help to prevent new wrinkles and lines from forming on the face.

Lose Your Fine Lines & Wrinkles With Botox - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

It's said that women look at their face in the mirror at least eight times a day; to check their make-up is still in place, to see if there are any mascara smudges under the eyes, or lipstick on their teeth. They might want to check a pimple, but usually women check their reflection for a sense of reassurance.

Women usually begin to show signs of facial ageing around the age of twenty-five, and the first signs are fine lines around the eyes and around the mouth. The “number elevens” the two frown lines between the eyebrows are common too.

Botox is a licensed medicine and administering it is an art that needs a high level of ability, along with a talent for the craft. The risk of infection when botox is administered by an untrained person is higher than with a fully trained, experienced provider. When it's not injected properly, or isn't injected in the precise place, then things can quite easily go wrong.

An unskilled person injecting botox could end up paralysing the wrong muscles, you might be left with drooping eyelids and eyebrows, or in the worst case scenario you could even paralyse the muscles that move your eyeball, which could give you long-term problems with your eyesight. Don’t let price be your guide. If you find treatment that's being charged at much less than the standard fee, then it's likely that compromises have been made; either in the skill of the provider, quality of the product or the amount of it that's being used.

At Selston Cosmetic Clinic we specialise in giving a soft natural look to your face, tailoring each botox treatment specifically for you and your needs. The botox procedure takes about 20 minutes and doesn't need any anaesthetic. It's injected with a very fine needle into specific muscles with only minor discomfort. Botox usually takes effect within 3 to 7 days after the injection and usually lasts from three to four months. The lines and wrinkles may look less severe with time because botox helps the muscles to relax.

So put yourself in our hands and your watch crows feet disappear around the eyes, along with those irritating lines and wrinkles around your forehead. Call now for an appointment and find out what we can offer you, and say goodbye to wrinkles.

Stay Safe When Choosing Where To Have Botox Injections - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Over the past decade, there's been a big upsurge in people having botox treatments to help keep the fine lines and wrinkles at bay. Practitioners have used botox for over 30 years now and it's a proven safe procedure for facial injections. There are very few side effects associated with botox and allergies are rare. The cost of botox varies from clinic to clinic, and when compared, the cost of botox in top cosmetic clinics in London and the South can easily be double the price of clinics further North.

Botox, indeed any injectable treatment, should always be performed by a medical professional in a sterile environment, and certainly not at home at a botox party. These so-called botox parties are when groups of women gather at someone's home and either self-inject or have botox administered by inexperienced hands, a scenario that can quite easily go terribly wrong. When botox isn't injected properly, or isn't injected in the precise place, there's a danger you could end up with the wrong muscles being paralysed, or you could be left with droopy eyelids and eyebrows, or at worse, the injection could even paralyse the muscles that move your eyeball, which can give you problems that can ultimately affect your eyesight.

Over the last few years there have been multiple reported cases about botox parties which have gone wrong, with untrained practitioners injecting cheap botox that's been purchased over the Internet. Lots of these parties have ended badly, resulting in significant bruising, facial asymmetry and permanent scarring and without any access to follow-up treatment. When botox gets administered by an untrained person, the risk of infection is higher than with a fully trained provider, and if any problems happen afterwards there's no access to follow-up care. Injectable treatment in a non medical setting puts people at risk, with the risks greatly outweighing the benefits.

Those who administer botox should have full training, as the procedure requires a high level of expertise, along with talent and an artistic eye for the craft. If you see an offer for botox that's a lot lower than the standard price, it's very likely that some compromises have been made; either in the skill of the person giving the injections or the amount or quality of product being used. So to remain safe, if you want any cosmetic treatment, it's always advisable to go a clinic where you'll be guaranteed the best service and you'll know that you are having your treatment at a medically regulated premise.

Botox Away Your Lines & Wrinkles - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

There are some people who have great genetics and age really well, not seeming to mind the changes that come with growing older. Other people just want to age gracefully, but unfortunately sometimes it doesn't always happen that way. When we look back at our old photographs, we may notice the changes in the texture and tone of our skin, and when we look in the mirror we might notice that we now have fine lines and wrinkles beginning to show on our face.

Fine lines and wrinkles start to show up around the eyes, nose, and lips as we reach a certain age, and with time the lines get deeper and the wrinkles multiply. Apart from ageing, we get wrinkles on the skin due to exposure to the sun, smoking, and lots of other reasons. Using the facial muscles to frown, squint, smile or to concentrate can cause wrinkles, and getting wrinkles from active muscle use isn't just for older people, it's common in young adults too.

Over time, we might start to notice our make-up starting to settle in the creases of the face. We'll start to see the crow’s feet and laughter lines deepen and facial lines and wrinkles will make us look tired, but botox can help make us look younger and more rested. Injections of botox are becoming more popular as they offer a non-surgical, less invasive and cheaper alternative to cosmetic surgery.

Before botox treatment the practitioner will look at the face to decide exactly where they will put the botox, to get the best results. Botox blocks the nerve impulses to the tiny muscles of the face, reducing contractions of the facial muscles that cause wrinkles and frown lines. Applying a topical anaesthetic cream will minimise any discomfort during treatment.

Botox injections are most effective on:
  • Deep lines between the eyes
  • Lines and creases on the brow
  • Forehead lines
  • Crow’s feet around the eyes
  • Smoker's lines around the mouth

Ageing can get everyone down and seeing signs of ageing on our face can knock our self-confidence. After botox treatment our face will still look the same, the injections simply soften the wrinkles and lines in the treated areas. Botox can improve our confidence and enhance our mood, giving us a younger, fresher looking face and skin that looks healthier and more supple.

Botox at Selston - Safely Put Your Face in Our Hands - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Botox is an injectable treatment used to improve the signs of ageing on the face, whether to reduce  the deep lines on the forehead or to relax the facial muscles to give asymmetry to the face. Botox is actually a purified toxin, but although it is a toxin, when used in small amounts, it doesn't cause any damage to the body.

Botox is a prescription only medicine, so doctors, dentists and registered nurses can prescribe and inject botox, however, beauticians can inject botox, but their clients must first be given a face-to-face consultation with a medical professional who can prescribe the drug. With botox being a prescription-only medicine, it's illegal for beauticians to use any botox that hasn't been prescribed for you.

When considering getting botox, the first thing you should do, is see a medical professional. You are having an injectable treatment, so it's imperative you should choose a  trained, qualified practitioner to inject the botox into your face and they'll need steady hands, the eye of an artist, and the ability and passion to get it just right.

Good practitioners are those who have been doing facial aesthetics for a several years, who go on training courses and have a good knowledge of facial anatomy, but there are some people who try to treat people with little or no training. Theoretically, on one day someone can go on a beginner’s botox course, and the next day go on an advanced course, during this time they may have only ever injected one client, but they can call themselves an advanced practitioner.

A face to face consultation is essential, as the practitioner will listen to what you would like to improve, and assess whether botox treatment is suitable for you, while taking note of your aesthetic concerns, preferences and your desired results. The practitioner will also tell you the risks, which can include allergic reactions, bruising and minimal swelling.

  • A good botox treatment will have precisely placed injections in strategic places; into your frown lines, forehead creases, crows feet around the eyes and neck bands, leaving you with smoother, younger skin that looks more relaxed and healthy.
  • Botox administered by unprofessional, untrained people, is a different story. Too much injected botox can leave you with an unnatural frozen look, or when it's injected somewhere on the face it shouldn't have been, it can cause asymmetry and drooping eyes.
Even after many warnings on television and in newspaper articles, an increasing number of women, and men, are still taking the risk of having botox injections done by people with no medical qualifications or knowledge of facial anatomy, who basically are just injecting it into your face and hoping for the best.

In the hands of a fully trained practitioner, the safe, effective placement of botox can create a natural look which will make your face look and feel more refreshed and relaxed.

Refresh Your Face With Botox - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

It's inevitable that as we get older, the more we will notice fine lines and wrinkles starting to appear on our face, starting with crows feet at the eye area and gradually spreading to the rest of the face. Botox is a safe, simple and gentle treatment which can treat lots of areas, depending on the way your facial expression muscles work. A fully trained, experienced practitioner should always carry out these treatments, as the face is a delicate area to work on.
Botox brow lift before and after
Areas affected by expressive and static lines:
  • Frown lines - we might find that over time, deep lines between the eyebrows and above the nose become quite prominent. Frown lines can appear as two deep furrows that sit between the eyebrows and they are sometimes called the number 11's. To stop you overworking this area, botox injections can relax the muscle, which will also help to reduce the static groove.
  • Forehead - we tend to get both expressive and static lines forming horizontally across our forehead. These wrinkles can dramatically age your appearance, but the use of botox will relax the lines, and stop the area from over-expressing.
  • Eyes - crows feet at the corner of the eyes are a big concern for lots of people. The eyes are one of the most obvious areas for showing age, and with it being a delicate area you should always choose an experienced, highly skilled practitioner to treat them. The eyes are one of the most commonly requested areas for botox treatment.
  • Bunny Lines - these are the straight, slightly diagonal lines on both sides of the nose, under the bridge, that appear when we smile or laugh. They become obvious when we scrunch up our nose when laughing, or through the natural process of ageing.
  • Brow - we have muscles in the face that pull down the eyebrows and muscles that lift up the eyebrows. Injecting botox into the muscles that pull downwards is an ideal way to lift the brow area as it relaxes the muscles that we use to frown, and this lifts the weight that we naturally want to push down.
  • Jaw line - botox can relax and shrink the enlarged masseter muscle on the jaw line near the ear. Botox injections can streamline the area, giving a smooth, heart-shaped jaw line, softening the contour of your lower facial area.
Botox on crows feet before and after

The botox itself stays where it's injected, it doesn’t travel anywhere else in the body, and it gradually wears off naturally, after 3-6 months. The key to successful botox is subtlety; enhancing your face with careful and well thought out treatment, striving to give your face a refreshed, rejuvenated appearance, and avoiding a frozen or startled look.

Men Also Benefit From Botox & Dermal Fillers - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

First impressions count, and whether we like it or not the people we meet will make snap decisions about us based mostly on our looks, and looking the best we can, gives men and women a big boost in confidence. It isn't just women who want to look their best and these days men are also paying extra attention to their appearance. When it comes to getting older, we tend to think that men improve with age more than women, believing that men grow older in a distinguished silver-fox way.

Dermal filler treatment for tear trough hollows
Old age comes to us all, but whatever your age it's never too early to start looking after your skin and maintaining your appearance, and there are many products you can buy which promise to slow down or reverse the signs of ageing. Of course older, mature men can, and indeed do, look fantastic and sometimes that's because they've had a bit of help along the way. Anti-ageing treatments for men have become increasingly common place and the numbers of men having treatments are on the rise.

Botox treatment on forehead lines
The popularity for cosmetic procedures isn't just restricted to younger men; men of all ages are now seeking cosmetic treatments to improve their looks, slow down the signs of ageing and give them healthy looking skin. The number of men undergoing cosmetic treatments has dramatically risen in the last decade and some men now spend as much time caring for their appearance as their female counterparts.

Microdermabrasion treatment
Men have the same basic concerns about ageing as women. They want to soften the signs of ageing and look as good possible for their age, and at Selston Cosmetic Clinic we offer many subtle, undetectable treatments such as botox, dermal fillers and microdermabrasion.

Men seek anti-ageing treatments for certain things:

Lines and wrinkles. Botox can reduce and soften the wrinkles that give an angry or overly serious expression that are present, even on the relaxed face. Frown lines between the eyebrows, horizontal lines on the forehead and crow’s feet can all benefit from botox injections.

A tired appearance. Men dislike looking tired despite getting adequate sleep. Bags, dark circles and hollows beneath the eyes (tear troughs) are particular concerns, which dermal fillers can rectify. Dermal fillers can also soften deep lines and furrows on the face.

Pigmentation. Age spots, mild scars, fine lines and sun damage are signs of ageing that can easily be treated with microdermabrasion, which can dramatically improve the skin’s texture and tone.

Botox injections have been safely used for some years now, and it's become one of the most popular anti-ageing treatments on the market, due to its safety and effectiveness. • Always check out the practitioners qualifications.
  • Avoid gimmicks, such as: two for the price of one or introduce a friend and get a discount.

  • The cheapest priced treatment isn't always the best.
  • Check out their before and after photos and see what results they achieve.

Dr Bassi is highly trained in botox techniques and at your free consultation at Selston Cosmetic Clinic, he will discuss what requirements you have, and what your expectations are. Dr Bassi has performed thousands of botox treatments and our client base is increasing year upon year, mainly by word of mouth client recommendations.

We inject botox into specific muscles and this relaxes the muscles and prevents contraction. The repeated contractions of the muscles are what cause the skin to crease, making fine lines appear. We administer botox with fine needles, making the procedure quite painless. Afterwards you might get slight swelling and redness and with any procedure there's the risk of bruising, but this is minimal and can easily be covered by make up.

Botox, when done properly, should leave your face looking relaxed and refreshed, with no-one being able to tell you’ve had wrinkle reduction treatment. By choosing the right cosmetic doctor to achieve your aim, your appearance will look much improved, but still remain looking completely natural.

Botox can also  be used to:
  • Reduce over active frown / expression lines.
  • Reduce crows feet/ lines and wrinkles
  • Correcting lines from repeated facial expression and worry lines
  • Give you an eye lift
  • Correct eyebrows that look uneven
  • Tighten the jaw line
  • Correct the down-ward-turning corners around each side of the lips

  • Treat hyperhidrosis (armpit sweating)

Get a Refreshed Youthful Looking Face With Botox - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

We all want to look as young as we can, for as long as we can. Our lifestyle choices and how we take care of our skin can all play a part in delaying the signs of ageing, although we do have to accept that to age, is both natural and inevitable.

The ageing process shows on our face, and this happens for a variety of reasons:
  • Time naturally takes its toll
  • Prolonged exposure of the sun causes the breakdown of elastin fibres
  • Hormonal changes - women of post-menopausal age can notice a loss of density on the skin
  • Smoking - Smokers tend to have more wrinkles than non-smokers
  • Repetitive muscle movement - can cause lines and wrinkles

Botox is probably the most amazing and effective anti-ageing and anti-wrinkle treatment available. We inject botox into the skin and it temporarily relaxes the muscles between the eyebrows, forehead, and crows feet around the eyes. The treatment is safe, affordable, convenient and fast, the treatment is usually completed within 15 or 20 minutes and the results will last for at least 3 or 4 months.

Wrinkles are the folds and creases that appear on the skin and are a natural part of the ageing process. The primary cause of facial wrinkles are the repetitive movement used when we make our facial expressions, and over time they form crows feet, frown lines and marionette lines. Lines around the mouth and lips are formed through puckering up the lips when smoking. The skin is also exposed every day to the elements; the wind, sun, dirt, and pollution, and it's inevitable that this will eventually affect your skin in noticeable ways.

  • Fine lines - are shallow and are found in areas of facial movement, such as the eyes, mouth and upper lip, from smoking and squinting.
  • Wrinkles - are depressions in the surface of the skin which can appear either coarse or fine.
  • Deep set wrinkles - we call these expression lines and they are usually found on the forehead, the corners of the eyes and vertical lines on the side of the mouth, usually caused by frowning, raising your eyebrows and smiling.
Botox offers people of all ages a way to, not only reduce the wrinkles, but also have strategically placed injections as a preventive measure to stop wrinkles forming. At Selston Cosmetic Clinic we embrace subtly administered botox treatments and we specialise in giving a soft natural, refreshed look to your face.

Botox for Wrinkles and Lines - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Well, Christmas Day is well and truly over, and now it's just the stress of getting ready for the New Years Eve festivities. And then the following day, having to cope with hosting the New Year's Day family lunch! I'm sure we can feel ourselves looking older and more wrinkly by the minute!

The Christmas period is the time to relax and meet up with friends and family, but unfortunately, the holiday season usually ends up full of worry and stress. Shopping, organising, family arguments and late nights and early mornings, all catch up with us in the end.

Botox is now one of the most common cosmetic treatments in the UK, and at Selston Cosmetic Clinic we offer a Botox Cosmetic Clinic service Monday - Friday, with afternoon and evening appointments and also Saturday morning appointments. Our cosmetic doctor, Dr Bassi, performs all of our Botox treatments. He's trained in basic and advanced Botox techniques and we specialise in giving a soft natural look to your face, meaning that we customise each Botox treatment specifically for you.

Dr Bassi is a fully trained cosmetic practitioner, and he performs careful, technical exact injections, to give your face a fresh, healthy and subtle appearance and not a startled and expressionless look. Botox gets injected using a disposable syringe which has a very fine needle. We inject tiny amounts of Botox very precisely into several specific areas on the face, chosen by carefully examining the movements of your facial muscles.

Laughing, smiling, frowning and worrying, can all contribute to the start of fine lines and wrinkles. As we grow older our bodies will produce less of the natural substances which keep our skin hydrated and firm. So why not transform dull, tired and ageing skin into a fresher, more vibrant and youthful-looking appearance. The results can look stunning, and yet remain subtle.

There are many facial treatments to help smooth wrinkles:
  • Botox
  • Dermal fillers
  • Chemical peels
  • Microdermabrasions
  • and laser skin tightening treatments.

All of these treatments can lessen fine lines and wrinkles resulting in a younger and more rejuvenated appearance, smoothing away laughter lines, forehead wrinkles and crow’s feet.

There are many benefits:

  • Wrinkles and lines get smoothed out, giving a more youthful appearance
  • Prevention of further wrinkles by relaxing the muscles
  • It's a non-invasive, quick treatment with minimal discomfort
At Selston we attempt to keep the Botox injection experience gentle and pain-free and our trained professional team will put you at ease and support you through the experience.

A Younger, Youthful Face with Botox - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

We get frown lines, crows feet and forehead furrows through repetitive folding and creasing of the skin, while forming normal everyday facial expressions. By slowing down the use of these muscles early, will prevent them from developing and becoming a problem later. The age to start having botox is different for everyone and depends on your lifestyle and genetics - some people move their face more than others and as a result are more likely get wrinkles.

Cosmetic treatments aren't just for the old, as younger clients are now having botox procedures as a prevention method. If you prevent the start of a wrinkle, and have top-up treatments when you need them, your face will remain line free! A lot of people in their 40's and older try to fix these wrinkles and folds once they’ve already developed, but lots of younger people are injecting earlier, to try to keep them from ever appearing.

Some people are a bit wary of having botox. Those new to the cosmetic procedure have fears about getting a 'frozen' face, and they feel apprehensive about having the injections and ending up with their face looking like a mask. At Selston Cosmetic Clinic, we keep our botox treatments as natural as possible, no caught in the headlights look will be given here! Dr. Bassi attends lots of conferences and courses and his skills are always being updated. We also do advanced botox, which involves treating the lower half of the face and the chin, the jowls and the neck which can all be successfully treated, with the right knowledge and skill.

Botox can treat fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes, on the forehead and the rest of your face. Lines can form if you have a tendency to screw up your forehead or brow. Botox injections can make this physically impossible, which will therefore stop the wrinkles from forming. Botox blocks signals from the nerves to the muscles and when a muscle gets injected, it no longer contracts, causing the wrinkles to relax and soften.

Botox gets injected directly into the muscles of the treatment area, which weakens and paralyzes the muscles and prevents them from contracting and creating wrinkles and folds, creating a more youthful appearance. It's the dynamic lines that happen when you frown, smile or look surprised that botox works best on. It doesn’t work as well on static lines, though it can soften these lines slightly.

Firmer, Youthful Skin with Pelleve Radio Frequency Skin Tightening - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

At Selston Cosmetic Clinic we have a few treatments for tightening up the skin and giving the face a more youthful look. One of our treatments is Pelleve radio frequency skin tightening, which gives results similar to a non-surgical face lift or brow lift!

It achieves great results by:
Tightening up the fine lines and wrinkles on the face.
Reducing the harshness of crow's-feet at the eyes.
Lines on the brows.
It reduces saggy Jowls.
The neck - It firms up the loose and lax skin of the neck.

Pelleve skin tightening treatment is non-invasive, it involves no incisions and there's no bleeding or scarring. First, a protective gel gets applied to the face which will reduce any discomfort. Topical anaesthetics creams can also be used if desired. We can give oral analgesics such as paracetamol or co-codomol to minimize the heat sensation, but Dr. Bassi will discuss pre-treatment pain relief at the time of the first consultation as each patient's needs vary.

Areas suitable for Pelleve skin tightening treatment.

Radio frequency energy heats the collagen in the skin, which tightens the existing collagen and then stimulates new collagen production, which will result in rejuvenated, youthful skin. Radio frequency energy has been used for over 30 years and it's considered a very safe form of treatment. When we apply the radiage wand to the skin, there might be a feeling of brief, mild to intense warming sensation around the treatment area as the radio frequency energy heats and tightens the loose and lax skin of the face and neck. The result is an improvement in skin quality and firmness, which you can see and feel.

Those with mild to moderate wrinkles who have a single Pelleve treatment show immediate improvements in wrinkle reduction and skin laxity, and this continues to improve up to six months after the treatment. The results are immediate and because we don't use anaesthesia, any swelling is minor, there is no recovery time and you can return to work immediately. Very occasionally there is redness of the skin this usually subsides within a few hours.

Depending on which area you choose, the treatment times can range from 20 minutes to 60 minutes. The treatment is suitable for all skin colours with the 30 to 60 year age group responding best to this treatment. Further skin tightening happens over the next 4 to 6 months as more, new collagen is formed. It's recommended that you have 6 to 8 treatments, spaced 2 to 3 weeks apart. The Pelleve radio frequency skin tightening will last for 16-18 months and you can combine Pelleve with any cosmetic treatments.

The result is firmer, tighter younger looking skin.

Botox for Wrinkles, Frown Lines & Crows Feet - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

When you feel the time has come to take a few years off your face, the first solution that comes to mind for many, is Botox. Take a look in the mirror and if the face looking back at you has frown lines and a gradually deepening network of lines and wrinkles, then it’s time to start the intervention.

However, even though its cosmetic use is now well-known, lots of people are still apprehensive about going for Botox treatment, thinking it might leave them with an unnatural and plastic-looking face. The truth is that anything done in excess can have side-effects, but when done in moderation by a trained, qualified doctor, then it can do wonders for your appearance.

It's a shame that in the past, Botox has been associated with overdone treatments, which have left people with immovable foreheads, mouths that can't smile properly and an inability to show emotion. In reality, these days, correctly administered Botox still allows natural movement in the face but smooth's the harsh lines. Today, its more about natural enhancement and looking softer and more rejuvenated, as you can have movement and still look wrinkle free.

Facts about Botox.
  • Botox is a prescription medicine and should only be prescribed by doctors, dentists and nurses.
  • Botox started being used medically in the late 1970’s for treatment for squints and facial spasms.
  • The word Botox is actually a trade name for the drug botulinum toxin type A.
  • Botox injections are the most commonly performed cosmetic procedures worldwide.
  • Botox injections are extremely safe and they have been used in a clinical setting for almost 30 years.
Beware of fake Botox!  Botox bought over the internet from an unverified source could result in poisoning and potentially serious complications. Untrained people injecting Botox, with no detailed knowledge of facial anatomy can result in disastrous outcomes.

Botox is a safe treatment which involves injecting tiny amounts of Botox muscle relaxant, very precisely into several locations on the face using a disposable syringe with a very fine needle. The place to inject is decided by carefully examining the movements of the muscles of your face, and once treated the lines and creases around these muscles will fade and become softer.

It’s vital that you choose the right place to go, to get the best results and to ensure your safety. At the Selston Cosmetic Clinic many clients come back time, and time again and many clients come to us through word of mouth. Oscar Winning Procedures - Botox - Lipo- PDO Threadlifts - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Well the 2016 Academy Awards are over for another year. The after-parties have ended and the Oscar statuettes taken home and put pride of place, either on the book shelf or in the loo. All the Oscar nominated actresses spend months of preparation beforehand, getting themselves ready for big events like the Academy Awards and they may well be breathing a sigh of relief now that it's over.

It's all fine and dandy to wear a beautiful gown from one of the top dress designers, but it's beneath the glamour where things really get interesting. Actresses endure many treatments and procedures to get them looking spectacular for the photographers as they walk up the red carpet, and by the worldwide coverage on TV and magazines as they accept their award. The Hollywood beauties need to look like winners at all times and it's a long, long road to be red-carpet-ready.

High-definition photography and social media means that actors now have every detail, good and bad, of their face and body appear in hundreds of photos in newspapers, magazines and on-line. As a result, the stakes for perfection have never been higher.

The Hollywood ladies are said to use these treatments and procedures, and luckily, most of the treatments can be used on us mere mortals too!

VITAMIN SHOTS AND IV DRIPS
  • Before the Oscars, some stars have vitamin B12 shots injected straight into their blood stream to get a jolt of energy, helping them to cope with the long evening ahead.
TEETH WHITENING
  • Having your teeth whitened is a necessity for the red carpet look. Stars usually get professional teeth whitening treatments a few days before major events.
LASER HAIR REMOVAL
  • Stars in skimpy dresses won’t dare risk the camera catching any unwanted hair or stubble, so most will have laser hair removal treatments months before the awards show.  Celebrities most done area's, are the legs, bikini line, facial hairs, underarms and arms, all depending on what the gown is covering. Having all these little hairs removed helps the skin shine in photographs.

LAST-MINUTE LIPO
  • Lipo will take away those small pockets of fat on the tummy and hips, so there aren't any lumps and bumps showing in the skin-tight gown. It can tighten up the neck, giving definition and also take fat away from the upper arms, stopping those bingo wings from flapping.

MICRODERMABRASION/CHEMICAL PEELS
  • To make the ladies glow on the red carpet, procedures such as facials, microdermabrasion, or chemical peels are used as sometimes, make-up just isn't enough!
BOTOX AND FILLERS
  • Hollywood stars are no stranger to using Botox to smooth the skin and banish wrinkles, and injectable fillers can help to plump up lips and cheeks. A skilled cosmetic doctor can artistically inject Botox strategically to erase the forehead creases, the frown lines, the “eleven” lines between the eyebrows and crows feet around the eyes, leading to a very natural, brighter, softer and relaxed look to the face. With subtle application of Botox, the eyebrows can be raised to give the eyes a more open, rested and less stressed look, and the results will show within days. Botox isn't used just for the face any more, it's also used to inject into the armpits to prevent sweating, putting an end to perspiration stains around the armpits of that expensive, or borrowed gown when on the red carpet.

PDO THREADLIFTS
  • Having time for a full blown face-lift in time for the ceremony isn't very realistic, so stars have the next best thing - PDO Threadlifts.  This minimally invasive face-lifting procedure has been performed very successfully for quite a few years now. PDO threads are special dissolvable threads which dissolve in 6 months. They lift and tighten the skin by promoting collagen and elastin, making the face worthy of thousands of camera flashes.

So if you have a big occasion coming up, and you want to have the red carpet experience, the Selston Cosmetic Clinic provides lots of cosmetic procedures which will make you feel like a million dollars!

The Many Benefits of Botox - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield and Chesterfield

Tabloid newspapers and magazines sometimes write negative articles about Botox, they criticise and make fun of celebrities for having Botox treatments. It's one of the least invasive cosmetic procedures available and the supply and demand for it over the last decade has risen so much, that Botox is quickly becoming an affordable luxury, even for us ordinary folk!

We all know about the cosmetic wonders of Botox, but did you know that it was originally developed by scientists to treat uncontrollable facial spasms and blinking. While it was being used, an unexpected side-effect was discovered, when it became obvious that patients injected with Botox, were also losing their frown lines.

Imagine how impressive it would be, to walk into a room and have jaws drop because you look 10 years younger! - well that's a common reaction to many Botox recipients. The skin tightening caused by Botox injections around the eyebrows and forehead, perform a non surgical face lift by relaxing the facial muscles that cause the wrinkling associated with ageing. The skin is pulled tight after the Botox injection and the face starts looking younger within a short period of time.

Nowadays, Botox is mostly used as an anti-ageing facial treatment and improvements can be made on many parts of the face, but it also works for other medical conditions.

Where can Botox help:
  • Chin - by softening the cobblestone or puckered appearance of the chin
  • Lip Lines - botox softens the lip lines and smoker lines above the lips
  • Nose - It can reduce the nostril flaring, to trim the width of the nose
  • Eyes - Will give a Botox eye lift and create the perfect arch
  • Nose - By reducing the horizontal bunny lines on the upper part of the nose
  • Eyes - Used to enlarge the appearance of the eyes
  • Armpits - Injections of botox can stop excessive sweating under the armpits (hyperhidrosis)
  • Head - Botox is used to treat migraines and tension headaches

All of these procedures are available at the Selston Cosmetic Clinic, which is is 5 minutes away from J27 of the M1, where you will find a warm environment and friendly helpful staff. There is a free consultation, where honest and ethical advice is always given. Dr Bassi has over 10 years experience as a specialist cosmetic practitioner who can work wonders, giving your face a fresh, healthy and wrinkle free appearance, not a startled and expressionless look. Dr Bassi has performed thousands of injectable treatments and he tailors his facial remodelling treatments to suit each individual patient, as no two patients faces are alike!

For women who are wary of going under the knife, but would like to reduce wrinkles and enhance their facial features, Botox, a non-surgical face lift option could
be just what they're looking for.

So whether you want to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines or as a treatment for medical ailments, the benefits of using Botox are many.
