Lose Flabby Bingo Wings With Vaser Lipo - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Upper arm fat can look unsightly and ruin the shape of the most fabulously dressed woman and ruin her self-confidence at the same time. The fat at the top of the arms is given the nickname bingo wings and they are more likely found on people who are overweight or obese. Bingo wings are almost impossible to lose completely with ordinary exercise routines, and although dieting can help to reduce bingo wings, usually pockets of wobbly fat will still remain even after weight loss.
Many women long for toned arms that they won't mind flaunting in the summer months, but in reality, they dread revealing their arms because of flabby fat on the underside of the upper arms. A person's body shape and the places where they store fat is partly genetically predetermined, but it also changes with age. If you lose fat, it will come off evenly over the body according to your body's natural shape, but if you're overweight and want to lose the upper arm fat, you'll need to lose fat from all over the body, as it's impossible to target just one area alone.

Eating smaller, healthier portions and drinking more water will help with the weight loss, and exercising; combining aerobic and compound exercises such as swimming will help calorie burning and full body toning. Skipping will rapidly burn calories whilst toning all areas of the body, particularly the arms, and boxing will tone the arms and the body, while quickly burning calories.
Vaser lipo is a treatment that selectively removes stubborn pockets of fat from various parts of the body to give a slimmer, toned and more defined body that isn't achievable by exercise or diet alone. The area treated with vaser lipo is given a local anaesthetic via tiny incisions, then we deliver the ultrasound using thin vaser probes, which break up and emulsify the fat and tiny vaser cannulas remove the liquefied fat.

Vaser lipo breaks up fat with ultrasound energy, delivered by the vaser probes. and this energy dissolves the fat cells and simply bounces off other structures such as nerves, blood vessels and connective tissue, which are left undisturbed. We do the vaser treatment under local anaesthetic, which makes the experience minimally pain-free. The results are immediate but there is minor swelling for about a week. As the swelling subsides the results continue to improve for up to six months as collagen grows and tightens the skin.

Get Rid of Fatty Man Boobs with Vaser Lipo - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Gynaecomastia - more commonly known as man boobs, occurs when excess fat develops in a man's breast area, it's a common medical condition, where breast tissue grows under the nipples. It's usually caused by a hormone imbalance during puberty and usually disappears without treatment within a couple of years. All men have breast tissue, but there are some who have excessive breasts.

Causes of Gynaecomastia:
  • Puberty - During puberty, boys hormone levels vary.
  • Hormone imbalance - An imbalance between the sex hormones testosterone and oestrogen can cause Gynaecomastia.
  • Obesity - Being excessively overweight can increase levels of oestrogen, which can cause breast tissue to grow.
  • New-born baby boys - It can possibly affect baby boys, as oestrogen passes through the placenta from the mother to the baby.
  • Older age - Older men tend to have more body fat and this produces more oestrogen.
Sufferers of Gynaecomastia thankfully no longer have to live with this excess fatty tissue in the breast area, which causes embarrassment and can knock body confidence. It's a treatable condition and male breast reduction procedures can offer exceptional results and have a positive impact on self-image. Sticking to a well-balanced diet and exercising regularly is important, as losing some weight could somehow help to reduce the size of a fatty chest. There are several effective medications that can help effectively reduce man boobs, but to permanently get rid of fatty breasts, then vaser lipo is a solution. Vaser lipo is a highly efficient, yet minimally invasive fat removal cosmetic procedure which uses ultrasound technology to break down the fat before gently removing it, for good.

Vaser lipo is the most gentle and powerful form of liposuction available today. The treatment area is flooded with local anaesthetic via very tiny and carefully made incisions. Ultrasound is delivered using thin, solid vaser probes which breaks up and emulsifies the fat. It's then removed from the body using the vaser cannulas. It's a relatively quick procedure, taking about two to three hours and you'll be back to work within 3-5 days. The results are visible immediately, but it will take 3-6 months for complete results to fully show.

Vaser lipo can help you to get the desired result, which otherwise is not likely even with strict diet and exercise. It's a great treatment which will re-sculpt and refine your body without the need for general anaesthetic. Selectively removing the unwanted breast fat will create a flatter, firmer and more masculine-looking chest.

Achieve Younger Looking Skin With Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

We don't get to adulthood without seeing some sort of evidence on our face and we would all love to turn the clock back and get back the perfect, unblemished skin of our youth. Our skin has to contend with many things as we get older; sun, harsh weather and bad habits, and unfortunately these effects show on our face and tell the story. Skin problems like acne scars, liver spots on the back of the hands, face and décolletage or skin that's been damaged by too much sun, can all affect our self-confidence.

There are many reasons why we are not satisfied with our appearance but whether it's our face, neck or hands that we have a problem with, a solution is available. According to many doctors, one of the best anti-ageing treatments is the SmartXide DOT which is a fractional Co2 laser system which will improve the texture, tone and overall quality of your skin.

It's an ideal treatment for:
  • Wrinkles
  • Poor texture
  • Large skin pores
  • Sun damage
  • Sun spots
  • Brown spots
  • Acne scars
  • Surgical scars
  • Uneven pigmentation
  • Stretch marks
SmartXide Dot is tailored to each person's skin-type and to how much damage is on the skin. SmartXide Dot treatment helps to soften wrinkles of the face, especially around the mouth and eyes, as well having the unique ability to tighten loose skin. The skin treatment can soften deep lines and fine wrinkles until they disappear, leaving the skin smoother, fresher and looking more youthful. By forming a completely new skin layer, it will restore the tone and glow to the face and other treated areas.

The laser is good for:
  • Reversing the look of ageing skin
  • To effectively repair sun damaged skin
  • Improve skin tightening, texture and firmness
  • Smooth wrinkles and lines
  • Even out the skin tone and colour
  • Reduce acne marks and other scars
  • Treat pigmentation (brown spots and skin discolouration)
  • Reduce large pores on the skin.
Scars from acne or other skin injuries can also benefit from using this treatment. The laser treatment takes about 30 minutes to restore the skin's youthful appearance. The laser stimulates new collagen growth which helps to prolong the effects of the treatment, and gives a more even result. While it's true that we can't halt the ageing process, with care, we can maintain your rejuvenated skin's appearance for years to come.

Laser Treatment To Reduce Facial Flushing - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Living with any skin condition isn't easy, especially when it's on visible parts of the body. Rosacea, or acne rosacea, is a skin disorder leading to nose pimples and redness on the forehead, cheekbones, and chin, and in some cases, rosacea may also occur on the neck, chest, scalp or ears.

Rosacea is often an embarrassing and uncomfortable condition for the sufferer, with the inflamed pimples and redness of rosacea looking a great deal like acne. One of the first signs of rosacea is the tendency to flush or blush easily. Many people notice that the condition typically begins at any time between the ages of 30 and 50 and it's likely to affect people who have previously suffered from acne or severe acne.

Although anyone can get this skin condition, some people are more likely to get rosacea than others, including:
* Women (especially during menopause)
* People with fair skin
* Adults between the ages of 30 and 60.

Primary Signs of Rosacea are:
  • Flushing - Frequent redness of the face which looks like blushing. This facial redness may come and go, and is often the earliest sign of the disorder.
  • Persistent Redness - Facial redness is one of the most common signs of rosacea, and may resemble a blush or sunburn that doesn't go away.
  • Papulopustular Rosacea - Bumps and pimples. Small red solid bumps or pus-filled pimples often develop. While these may resemble acne, blackheads are absent and burning or stinging may occur.
  • Visible Blood Vessels - Many people with rosacea will have small blood vessels (spider veins) become visible on the skin.
  • Inflamed Eyes/Eyelids - This can cause symptoms such as dryness, itching, gritty sore eyes or excess tears.
  • A Swollen Nose - This occurs mainly to men, the nose becomes red, larger, and bumpy.
  • Thicker Skin - The skin on the forehead, chin, cheeks, or other areas can become thicker because of rosacea.

Ways to Treat Rosacea:

* Ointments, creams and oral medicines are most effective in people with papulopustular rosacea
* Oral antibiotics and cream antibiotics with anti-inflammatory properties work by constricting blood vessels so that the skin doesn't look as red, and can also be used to treat the inflammation.
* Laser technology can successfully treat Rosacea and can help remove visible blood vessels, but it is highly unlikely that these treatments are available on the NHS.

Laser treatment provides an effective therapy for treating this upsetting condition. Excellent results are possible with the proper use of laser energies, not only in the cosmetic appearance but also in a marked reduction in the upsetting flushing attacks of Rosacea.

Before & After - Non-Surgical Nose Jobs - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Most of us are happy enough with our face, but sometimes we aren't as happy with the shape of our nose. Noses come in all shapes and sizes, and when we're unhappy with our nose or we want to; restore its shape after an injury, straighten a lump or bump on the top or maybe we just want to have a better profile, then this is when we usually decide to visit a cosmetic doctor.

A non-surgical nose job, also known as rhinoplasty, has remained one of the most asked for cosmetic procedures and is an ideal option for those not interested in going under the knife and undergoing a traditional surgical nose job. A non-surgical nose job is a cosmetic procedure which injects dermal filler into the nose to smooth out nasal bumps and lumps without using a scalpel, and one which will achieve moderate nose shaping.

A skilled cosmetic doctor will inject dermal fillers to fill depressions or add volume to the nose or in the surrounding tissue to create the look you desire. The non-surgical nose job is a cosmetic procedure which can level out lumps, lift the angle of the tip, or smooth the bumps on the bridge, but what it can't do is make someone's nose smaller.

Benefits of nose filler
  • It's a great boost for your self-confidence.
  • No downtime, you can return to work the following day.
  • This procedure is performed using local anaesthetic.
  • Fast treatment time and instant dramatic results.
  • The cost is a lot less than the price of a surgical nose job.
Liquid filler nose jobs actually add to the nose but after injections with fillers, the nose does seem smaller because with the lumps and bumps levelled out it creates an optical illusion. Twenty minutes before the procedure, the area is given a numbing application and then the dermal filler is expertly injected into the required nasal areas.

Other than some minor bruising, there are generally no side effects from dermal filler treatments, so most people return to work the same day, or the day after their treatment. The filler doesn't migrate or lump together in the tissues and when it does break down 8 to 10 months later, it does so symmetrically and evenly.

Noses come in all shapes and sizes, but luckily we don't have to keep the one we were born with. These days we can choose to have the nose we have always wanted.

Laser Away Unwanted Hair on the Face & Body - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

We all have unwanted hair somewhere on our bodies which can cause us great embarrassment. It can sometimes take a severe toll on our self-esteem and on our social lives, especially when appearing on places that are usually not deemed 'feminine'. There are many hair removal methods available, but mostly the results we get from them are only temporary. Laser treatment has proven, over many years, that it's the best form of long-lasting hair removal.

Hair removal is probably one of the most annoying beautifying treatments that we put ourselves through. There are just so many methods of hair removal, most of which are time-consuming, can cost us a fortune for the constant upkeep and cause us pain. Perhaps this is why so many people, women as well as men, are starting to turn to laser hair removal as a more permanent solution. This is a very popular method of permanent hair reduction with women, and more increasingly with men.

Using laser hair removal, hair is permanently removed from the:
  • Upper Lip: Upper lip hair seems more noticeable on women with dark hair, but whether fair or dark, we all find it embarrassing.
  • Chin: Chin hair can sprout on young, or older women. They promptly get plucked out but as time progresses another one inevitably grows in its place. The only problem is that when they grow back, they seem to come back thicker.
  • Forearms: Sleeveless tops and dresses are not really a great idea when you have hairy forearms. Accessorising is also a minefield when bracelets and watches tug on your arm hair.
  • Underarms: In most cultures, people consider women with underarm hair as unhygienic and unsightly. These days, most people would sooner have hair free armpits.
  • Legs: In winter we can hide hairy legs under trousers and tights. But come the summer and it's time for the yearly ritual of unveiling the legs and we all want them hair free. They are a must if you are applying fake tan, for a smooth, even application.
  • Bikini Line: Being caught out with an untrimmed bikini line is every woman's nightmare. Shaving can result in rashes and bumps and waxing can irritate the skin and cause little 'chicken skin' bumps around the hair follicles.
  • Back: This affects men and some women. Of all the places that the body sprouts hair, for men the back is probably the most universally despised. It seems that some women approve of chest hair but find back hair is definitely not a good look.

Laser hair removal technology offers a safe and effective way to take away unwanted body and facial hair, permanently. The pigment in the hair follicle absorbs the laser energy, and this is then converted to heat, causing thermal damage to the follicle without harming the surrounding skin. This results in hair growth being stopped in the damaged follicle.

Treatment times depend on the area, from 10 minutes for the upper lip to 45 minutes for the back. Most clients experience minimal discomfort; some may experience a minor stinging sensation as the laser pulses treat the skin. A topical anaesthetic cream makes the treatments more comfortable. Only 30% of your hair is usually in the growth phase at any one time and the laser can only target these. Therefore, for achieving long-term results, a series of treatments are necessary.

Get Rid of Facial Spider Veins with Laser Treatment - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Spider veins are permanently dilated capillaries; tiny blood vessels which run close to the surface of the skin and look like fine red, or sometimes purple, wavy lines. They are sometimes called thread veins or broken veins and these highly visible tiny veins sit just under the surface of the skin and are very delicate. Damaging these veins might cause them to dilate and break, and once they are broken, the veins will stay that way and won't constrict back to their normal thickness or repair themselves.

Anyone can get spider veins, and while these veins do occur on the face, a great number of them also show up on the legs. Ageing causes the weakening of veins and skin, and the ageing skin can make the veins more noticeable. Hereditary predisposition is the most common cause of spider veins and if other members of your family have these veins, it's quite likely that you will develop them too. Facial veins can become more prominent as we get older, but there are actually six main triggers that can provoke them at any age.

These are:
  • Pregnancy
  • Excessive sun exposure
  • Temperature extremes
  • Too much alcohol
  • Facial injuries
  • High blood pressure
Scrubbing your face too vigorously or washing with water that's too hot can also cause facial veins. Age, lifestyle, rosacea and smoking can also play their part.

The safest and most effective treatment for spider veins on the face is with laser treatment. The cool tip of the laser is slowly passed over the skin directly above the veins, and the energy from the laser is preferentially absorbed by the coloured tissues. The energy causes the veins to heat up and collapse. Some people feel a tingling or stinging sensation, although most clients report feeling only minor discomfort. Clients can have an anaesthetic cream applied if desired, to relieve any discomfort. After the laser treatment, the body slowly re-absorbs the veins.

Laser treatment takes only 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated, and recovery on most people takes no time at all, although the skin over the treated area might be mildly sensitive for a few days after the treatment. The look of spider veins will greatly improve after just one treatment, however, to fully remove them most people will need two or three sessions. After the treated veins disappear, they will not re-occur.

Erase Lip Lines & Creases with Dermal Fillers - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Sometimes it seems that wrinkles show up in all the wrong places. On first meetings, most people focus their attention on the other person's eyes or mouth and unfortunately, those are the exact areas where fine lines and wrinkles first begin to show.

Even while we're young, the signs of ageing will still show in our face a lot sooner than we want, especially around the mouth and lower face area. It's very demoralising to notice the beginnings of lip creases and lip lines, especially when we apply lipstick and we see the colour bleeding into our lip wrinkles, ruining our smile.

Causes of upper lip wrinkles:
  • Repeatedly making the same facial expressions
  • Pursing the lips
  • Smoking
  • Excessive sun exposure which can break down collagen and elastin in the skin
  • The passage of time breaking down the skin's elasticity
Over time these can cause fine lines to appear around the mouth, and the thinner the skin, the more visible the lines and creases become. After many years, these lines can become permanent indentations on the lips and mouth area.

Lip creases, also called lipstick lines or smoker's lines, are those fine lines that start to radiate from the lips as we get older. These vertical lines on the lips are especially problematic for women as the lip lines can also cause lipstick to bleed, which is a major sign of ageing.

Ageing plays a part forming lines on the lips but the good news is, we can do something about it. As we age our lips get thinner and lose their definition and a small amount of dermal filler can make all the difference.

There are many dermal fillers used to correct lip creases and lines, all which plump up the skin and help to create a younger, more youthful looking appearance. Recommended fillers for lip crease correction include:
  • Restylane range
  • Juvederm Ultra 2
  • Teosyal Fine Lines
The dermal fillers are non animal based hyaluronic acid, a substance which is naturally found in the body. The filler acts as padding and when it's injected it fills out the lines and creases beneath the skin.

A topical anaesthetic cream is applied to the lip area 20 minutes before treatment begins, which numbs the skin. The cosmetic procedure usually only takes about 20-30 minutes. There maybe some swelling after the treatment and perhaps some slight bruising, but the swelling resolves itself within a day or two and any minor bruising can always be covered up with make-up.

The Many Uses of Botox Injections - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Botox is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure for both women and men to help ease and erase fine lines and wrinkles. It's a simple injectable treatment which will give you a smoother complexion without the need for invasive surgery. If you have lines around your mouth, neck, or on the forehead, then Botox can help.

Botox is one of the least invasive procedures available and when it's injected by skilled and experienced hands, they are safe, effective and cause minimal discomfort. The injections prevent the muscles from contracting, blocking impulses to selected nerves, making the wrinkles relax and soften.

Botox has many amazing benefits, including easing migraines, reducing sweating under the arms and of course erasing those troublesome wrinkles that can make you look prematurely old.

The many uses of Botox

* Anti-Ageing - Wanting to look younger and more youthful is the most popular reason we have Botox injections. It's one of the best non-surgical options for preventing wrinkles as it slows down ageing on the face and helps to tighten and lift the skin. Using Botox as a non-surgical face lift can take years off the face when it's used appropriately and this option is great for people who want just a slight lift and not the dramatic change of invasive surgery.

* Migraine Killer - Botox was licensed specifically for treating Chronic Migraine, which works due to it's nerve-blocking effects. It relaxes the muscles and blocks the sensory nerves that send pain messages to the brain, making them less sensitive to the onslaught of pain. Statistics say that over 6 million people in the UK  have migraine headaches, so for those with especially debilitating migraine attacks, this is great news.

* Muscle Spasms and Disorders - Botox is an ideal solution for muscle spasms, particularly in the face, neck and eyelids. When it's injected into the muscles it reduces the spasms by stopping the transmission between the muscle fibres and the nerve endings.

* Overactive Bladder - An overactive bladder occurs when the bladder contracts more often than necessary, even when the bladder isn't full. Symptoms may include a strong need to pass water along with leaking or wetting accidents, the urgent need to urinate immediately and a frequent need to urinate. Botox helps to paralyse the muscle around the bladder, which in turn prevents contractions from happening so the urgency to pass water is greatly reduced.

* Excess Sweating - Also known as Hyperhidrosis, excessive sweating can affect many parts of the body, but armpits, hands, feet and the groin are the most typical regions of excess perspiration, due to the higher concentration of sweat glands. Treatment works by effectively turning off the body's sweat glands by blocking the secretion of chemical transmitters that stimulates the sweat glands, which essentially paralyses them. Botox is injected into tissues of the problem area and this may give six to eight months relief from sweating.

Using Botox to treat these medical conditions are prescribed and performed by registered doctors, and for cosmetic treatments care should always be taken to choose an experienced trained specialist in cosmetic procedures. We administer Botox with fine needles which makes the procedure quite painless, and though there might be slight swelling and redness afterwards, this resolves quickly.

Vaser Lipo Treatment To Remove Unwanted Fat - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Vaser Lipo can easily be applied to almost all body areas and it's especially effective for those areas where stubborn fat accumulates due to ageing and to areas that show resistance to diet and exercise. Vaser Lipo can target fat cells very close to the skin's surface, unlike Liposuction, so it tends to produce fantastic results in more delicate areas such as the neck, underneath the chin and the knees.

Vaser Lipo and Traditional Liposuction are both cosmetic methods of removing fat from the body, but they differ in how they get their results.

* Traditional Liposuction
Liposuction is a surgical procedure that's designed to break apart and remove excess fat cells from areas where unsightly fat deposits have accumulated with the help of suction. It's performed using a cannula which is inserted into the body through small incisions in the skin. This is attached to powerful vacuum-powered equipment and used to loosen and remove the unwanted fat.

* Vaser Lipo
Vaser Lipo is a precision body contouring procedure that tackles specific areas of unwanted fat. It uses ultrasound technology that's delivered by Vaser probes which are very thin, solid and have grooves and they are designed to gently reshape your body. Vaser ultrasound energy dissolves the fat cells but simply bounces off other structures such as nerves, blood vessels and connective tissue, which are left undisturbed. The dissolved fatty tissues are then eliminated or are naturally expelled out of the body. Unlike traditional liposuction, the skin's condition is improved as the laser stimulates collagen production.

Vaser benefits
  • Its effectiveness and safety is clinically proven and it gives smooth and highly predictable results.
  • Mild and minimally invasive procedure performed using local anaesthesia or twilight sedation.
  • The treatment is suitable for fat reduction on almost all body parts.
  • The results are immediate and continue to improve for up to six months as collagen grows and tightens the skin.
  • There's only minimal pain during the procedure, which aids a quick recovery.
  • Clients can resume normal activities within 48 hours and return to work within a week.
Vaser isn't a weight-loss procedure and it's best suited for those who are relatively toned but may have stubborn pockets of fat that they are unable to lose. As with most cosmetic procedures, you can expect some minor side effects like swelling and bruising and numbness in the treated area can last 6-8 weeks.

Vaser is a popular cosmetic procedure that's generally safe and has proven results. It's a method that sees the permanent removal of fat cells from your body, and if you have good skin elasticity it will help the body adapt to its changing contours quickly. It's an ideal treatment if you're near your goal weight but still have specific areas you want to target for fat removal.

Lip Filler Treatment in Time For Christmas - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

There aren't many of us blessed with perfect lips, some have thin flat lips and others have lines and wrinkles around the edges of the mouth. Sometimes we need a little help to get the lips we wish we had. When people look at us, our lips are often the focus of attention, and the shape and fullness that we would like isn't always there. Like the rest of our body, the passing of time will eventually show on our lips and they'll start to lose volume, we'll notice fine lines and wrinkles around the edges and get lipstick bleeding into the creases.

Sometimes we get self-conscious about our smile, or we notice our lip starting to disappear when we speak or smile, or maybe we simply want to balance out the upper and bottom lip proportions, this is the time to consider dermal fillers. Enhancing the lips can accentuate our facial appearance and dermal filler treatment can put back the volume in the lips and restore their shape. It's a safe, fast and well-tolerated treatment, which leaves the lips looking and feeling natural.

Although ageing plays a part in forming lip lines, the good news is that we can do something about it. At Selston Cosmetic Clinic we have had fantastic results using lip fillers to add volume to the lips and to banish lip creases. Dr Bassi is a fully trained cosmetic practitioner in advanced filler techniques, and as no two faces are the same, he tailors every filler treatment to each client.

At the clinic we recommend any of the following fillers for lip crease correction;
  • Restylane range
  • Juvederm Ultra 2
  • Teosyal Fine Lines

The lip procedure takes about 20-30 minutes and there'll be a small amount of swelling afterwards and maybe some bruising. The swelling usually resolves itself within a day or two, but any minor bruising can easily be covered with make-up.

A lip treatment can add volume to the lips and take the lines from around the mouth, it will enhance the look of the entire face and give you some added confidence. With Christmas and the festive party season fast approaching, what better time to enhance the lips so they're ready to pucker up under the mistletoe.

Streamline Fatty Outer Thighs With Vaser Lipo - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

We find that our bodies go through many changes as we get older, and some of these changes aren't all that welcome. Nobody is perfect and we all have certain things about our body that we just don't like, and one of the main things is excess fat. Sometimes we find our clothes size creeping up and we notice some weight gain on our tummy, bottom or face, some of us might get a bigger bust, while others get extra padding on the thighs.

Generally, women tend to store fat in the lower body and the worst problem areas are the hips and thighs. Approximately half of all women are pear shaped, which simply means that their bottom half is larger than their top half. When it comes to the thighs, lots of us feel like we would like a more streamlined shape. Fatty outer thighs can ruin the lines of a great outfit and clothes that cling to that area will just highlight the problem.

It's awful to feel self-conscious about any extra fat on our body, but unfortunately, as we get older, it gets a lot harder to keep these trouble spots at bay. Exercise should always be the first option, we all need to do some work to trim our thighs, but while some women can lose some excess fat, others will minimise but not completely remove stubborn pockets of fat. One way to remove the fat is vaser lipo as it targets our problem areas, safely removing excess body fat in specific areas, making it an ideal way to sculpt, reshape and define the body.

Vaser lipo is an advanced body contouring treatment that uses gentle ultrasonic energy to selectively target unwanted fat, while at the same time preserving other important tissue structures such as blood vessels, nerves and connective tissue. Tiny incisions are made in the treatment area, and the probe is inserted and ultrasound energy directed into the fat cells. The ultrasound energy breaks down the fat cells and then a suction device is used to gently remove the emulsified fat cells.

After you've had the procedure, it's important to make sure everything is kept smooth, with ultrasound and massages. Post op care is important as it will make sure that the results you get, will continue to stay with you. There are many benefits with vaser lipo; minimal pain, bruising and swelling and the results are immediate.

After the treatment, you'll be left feeling proud of your trim and toned body, allowing you to wear the sort of clothes that you wouldn’t dream of putting on at the moment.

Before & After Photo's - Lose Your Double Chin With Vaser Lipo - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Having a photo taken in profile can really show off an unwanted double chin. Sometimes we see a photograph that's been taken from the side and we're shocked at the lack of definition of our jaw line and chin. Having a double chin doesn't necessarily mean you are overweight, it can also mean that the muscles in the chin and neck aren't as developed as they could be, and as we get older our skin can lose its elasticity, the muscles can lose tone and stretch and our face loses volume. These changes cause sagging to the skin, which is very noticeable in the chin, jowl and neck area.

Three things can cause a double chin;
* Age - Our age can determine whether we develop a double chin. The older we get, the more our skin becomes thin, less elastic and the muscles lose their tone, creating a sagging droopy look.
* Genetics - We might be genetically predisposed to having a double chin. Our genetics can influence the muscle, bone structure and fat deposit characteristics of our face. Some of us naturally retain too much water in the chin area, while others store excess fat.
* Fat - Having excess body fat is also a cause. Our body stores fat in different places on the body and it's almost impossible to lose fat from just one specific place, so if we need to lose fat from a double chin, we must lose fat from all over.

If there’s anything that makes us look older than we are, it’s the looser skin on the jaw line and neck which will result in a double chin or the dreaded jowls. Getting a double chin can cause embarrassment and might be a sign that you should change your eating habits. It's possible to reduce fat in the chin area with a healthy, low-fat diet and regular exercise or maybe if all else fails, cosmetic treatment could be the answer.

Vaser lipo treatment is one of the gentlest and most powerful form of liposuction available today. As well as removing fat, the ultrasound energy achieves a degree of skin tightening which is particularly effective in the chin area. The vaser probes that deliver the energy are ultra thin, solid and have grooves and when they're inserted into the skin through tiny incisions, the energy will break up the fat. The fat cells become liquefied and then are gently removed. During the vaser lipo treatment collagen production is also stimulated, so over time there will be a continuing improvement.

Before & After - Six Pack Abs Achieved With Vaser Hi Def - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Recently we've seen a huge change in the way men want their bodies to look. Lots of men who don't have a so-called ideal body, get embarrassed and self-conscious, believing that the less muscled and toned they are, the less masculine they are. Celebrities show off their toned arm muscles and washboard abs in adverts for underwear and aftershave, and with images like these used worldwide on TV, billboards, magazines and on the internet, it isn't hard to see why most men might not feel able to match up to them.

Unfortunately, with our busy lifestyles it means that many of us just haven't got the time to spend hours in the gym trying to maintain a sleek toned body and keep it looking in peak condition. But even those who are fit and healthy can find that sometimes, no matter how much work they put  in at the gym, stubborn areas of fat can linger.

Recently at Selston Cosmetic Clinic we had a client who needed our help. He had lost his excess weight and worked hard at the gym, but unfortunately after all of his hard work it was obvious to him that he just couldn't achieve the definition on his abdomen that he was hoping for.

Before and after vaser hi def

Sometimes we need a bit of extra help and that is where Selston Cosmetic Clinic can help. Vaser lipo isn't a substitute for weight loss, and works it best on men who are reasonably fit but have small amounts of fat that haven't responded to diet and exercise. Vaser hi def is one of the most advanced forms of vaser lipo, creating shadows and curves, to give the impression of muscular definition, giving the body a toned, athletic look.

Vaser lipo benefits;
* Removes those stubborn areas of fat that we can't reduce from exercising and dieting alone
* Vaser lipo can give you definition for an athletic appearance
* It can create a more balanced and proportionate body
* It can increase your body confidence and boost your self-esteem

This client had a rather large tummy and we were not expecting the best of results. His fat was hard and solid and we were just looking to reduce it. Look at the difference vaser hi def, and the correct aftercare has made to his body shape.

Before and after vaser hi def at Selston Cosmetic Clinic
Vaser hi def is a body sculpting fat reduction procedure which, as well as removing fat cells and tightening the skin, allows our skilled and experienced cosmetic doctor to contour the treatment area to produce the look you are hoping to achieve.

Straighten Out Your Crooked Nose With Filler Treatment - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

There are many ways to describe the different shapes of the nose; from cute as a button, beaky or regal. A nose that's less than perfect, whether it's too large, crooked, hooked or generally just misshapen, can affect the overall balance of the face and really affect our self-esteem.

The nose has a central place on the face making it our most prominent facial feature, and as it projects itself outwards it's one of the first things that people see when they look at us. A nicely-formed nose can keep the shape of the face in proportion while not distracting from other features, making it an important aspect to the overall facial balance.

Noses come in all shapes and sizes:
  • Celestial Nose - A celestial, or turned up nose is considered one of the most attractive nose shapes. An upturned or concave nose points upwards at the tip instead of downwards, and whether the nose is big or small it has the tip rising, enabling you to slightly see the nostrils.
  • Nubian Nose - This type of nose shape is often very long with a narrower bridge, wide nostrils and has a base that is very wide. It’s a common shape among certain ethnic groups.
  • Hawk Nose - This nose shape has a deep hook at the tip, pointing downwards towards the lip. The shape of the ridge is often curved. Looking at it in profile, it's much like the beak of a hawk, hence its name.
  • Roman Nose - A roman nose, also known as a hook or aquiline nose has a prominent bridge and points downwards at the tip, but not  as much as the hawk-shaped nose. The word aquiline means eagle-like, likening the nose to the curved beak of an eagle.
  • Snub Nose - A snub nose is short, small and doesn’t usually stick out to any great extent. This nose is small, sloping up at the tip, so that the nostrils are visible. A snub nose is small and button-like with a slight widening that gives it an appealing look.
  • Greek Nose - Greek noses are perfectly straight and generally have narrow nostrils, a nose shape which is very appealing to the masses. The Greek nose tops the list as the most beautiful of nose varieties and models usually have this powerful feature that complements the rest of their face.

At Selston Cosmetic Clinic we have vast experience doing non-surgical nose jobs. A well-done rhinoplasty can subtly enhance your features and restore facial harmony. It's a cosmetic procedure which can level out lumps, lift the angle of the tip or smooth the bumps on the bridge, but what it can't do is make someone's nose smaller.

Selston Cosmetic Clinic can help :
* A slightly crooked nose
* Straightening a hooked nose
* Softening a bump on the bridge of the nose
* Correcting the nasal tip droop

A non-surgical nose job is a quick and simple procedure, requiring a high level of ability from the cosmetic physician. You can return to work the next day with your new improved nose.

Rosacea - Facial Redness Flushing & Blushing - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Rosacea is one of the most common skin disorders, with a characteristic flushing that comes and goes. It mainly affects the face, causing persistent redness and one of the first signs of rosacea is the tendency to flush or blush easily. The condition causes dilated capillaries, resulting in general redness and well-defined blood vessels. The blood vessels covering these areas enlarge and dilate, producing facial thread veins, also called telangiectasia

Pimples that appear on and around the nose, forehead, cheekbones, and chin can resemble teenage acne and this is known as acne rosacea. Pimples can also occur on the neck, chest, scalp or ears. The inflamed pimples and redness of rosacea can look a great deal like acne but blackheads aren't usually present.

It's thought that rosacea might be genetic and those who suffer are likely to have someone in their family with rosacea. People of all colours can get rosacea, and it's said that women are three times more likely than men to get the disorder, particularly during the menopause. Hot flushes are one of the most common symptoms of menopause and some women find that this can also trigger rosacea for the first time, and unfortunately the symptoms can persist after the menopause is over.

Living with a skin condition can cause pain and embarrassment and be very uncomfortable for the person suffering. Those with skin disorders can experience emotional effects such as isolation, have self-esteem issues and sometimes even get depression.

Signs of Rosacea are :
  • Flushing - A lot of people with rosacea have a history of frequent blushing or flushing. This facial redness may come and go, and is often the earliest sign of the disorder.
  • Persistent Redness - Persistent facial redness is the most common sign of rosacea, and may resemble a blush or sunburn that does not go away.
  • Bumps and Pimples - Small red solid bumps or pus-filled pimples often develop. While these might look like acne, blackheads are absent and burning or stinging may occur.
  • Visible Blood Vessels - In many people with rosacea, small blood vessels (spider veins) become visible on the skin.

At Selston Cosmetic Clinic, rosacea can easily be treated using the most advanced laser technology. We provide a state of the art laser treatment, giving effective therapy for this upsetting condition. Our advanced laser system has a cooled sapphire window on the tip of the laser scope to further protect and cool the skin. We can offer topical anaesthetic cream to make treatments as comfortable as possible. Laser treatment causes only minimal discomfort, although some may experience a minor stinging sensation on the skin as we deliver the laser pulses.

With the use of laser energies and expert technique, we are obtaining excellent results, not only in the cosmetic appearance but also a marked reduction in the upsetting flushing attacks of rosacea

Fill Out Eye Hollows with Dermal Filler - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

We do a lot of things to try and keep our eyes looking young; using creams, concealers, serums, cucumber slices and even used tea-bags. As well as being the windows to the soul, the eyes are also a big giveaway to show others how well we are ageing. As we get older, one of the changes we can expect to notice are the dark circles and deepening of the hollows under the eyes.

The naso-jugal groove, also known as the tear trough, occurs due to the thinning of the overlying skin and soft tissue over the bony orbital rim, and this happens because of the ageing process, genetics or because of sun damage. Tear troughs run from the tear duct and down in an arc underneath the lower eyelid, and it's the loss of volume in the tissue beneath the eye and above the cheek that cause the hollows.

Deep unsightly hollows can now be corrected with advanced dermal fillers, and this treatment will also help to correct the dark shadowing beneath the eye.

Dermal filler is an ideal treatment for:
  • Sunken eyes
  • Dark circles under the eyes
  • Tired looking eyes
  • Eye bags
Dermal filler treatment fills out the hollows and lines beneath the eyes and helps to mask the dark circles with its light reflecting technology. At Selston Cosmetic Clinic we use hyaluronic acid based filler, which is a substance that naturally occurs in the body. These fillers are non animal based and are very safe to use. This treatment will rejuvenate tired looking eyes to create a more youthful appearance that will last up to twelve months.

Tear trough treatment involves injecting filler into the under eye area, which fills out the hollows. A topical anaesthetic cream gets applied about 20 minutes before treatment starts to minimise any discomfort, numbing the skin and easing any pain. The treatment only takes twenty to thirty minutes to complete and the results are instant. There's minimal downtime, although you may have a tiny amount of swelling as the skin under the eye is very delicate.

Young looking eyes are a great asset to the overall appearance of a youthful, attractive, healthy face. Having dark hollows under the eyes can make you look older than you are and can leave you looking like you've had sleepless nights. Over time the hollows can change in appearance, becoming longer, deeper and even more shadowed.
