Rosacea is one of the most common skin disorders, with a characteristic flushing that comes and goes. It mainly affects the face, causing persistent redness and one of the first signs of rosacea is the tendency to flush or blush easily. The condition causes dilated capillaries, resulting in general redness and well-defined blood vessels. The blood vessels covering these areas enlarge and dilate, producing facial thread veins, also called telangiectasia. 

Pimples that appear on and around the nose, forehead, cheekbones, and chin can resemble teenage acne and this is known as acne rosacea. Pimples can also occur on the neck, chest, scalp or ears. The inflamed pimples and redness of rosacea can look a great deal like acne but blackheads aren't usually present.
