Tear Troughs - Treatment using Dermal Fillers - Nottingham Derby Mansfield and Chesterfield

When you look at someone for the first time, what is the first feature you notice ?

Obviously the eyes.

As well as being the windows to the soul, the eyes are also the windows to, well, your age. In fact, studies have shown that when strangers are asked to judge how old a person is, the eye area is one of the biggest influences.

We consider lots of things to keep our eyes looking youthful. To help to camouflage ageing we use creams, concealers, serums, cucumber slices and even tea-bags !

As we age, one of the changes we can expect to notice are the dark circles and deepening of the hollows below your eyes. The Naso-jugal groove also known as the Tear Trough occurs due to the thinning of the overlying skin and soft tissue over the bony orbital rim and happens as a consequence of the ageing process, genetics or also can be caused by sun damage.

Tear troughs run from the nose side of each eye in an arc under the lower eyelid. Most people complain of a tired looking appearance due to the darkness caused by the shadow. Troughs are caused by loss of volume in the tissue under the eye and above the cheek and are often seem worse in appearance when we are tired or dehydrated.

The Tear Troughs can be treated using either dermal fillers or PDO Threads.

Selston Cosmetic Clinic uses Teosyl Redensity II dermal fillers. This treatment involves injecting filler into the under eye area. This fills out the hollows and lines under the eyes and helps to mask dark circles with it's light reflecting technology.

The tear trough procedure takes place in our clinic, and takes less than an hour of your time. Teosyl Redensity II will rejuvenate tired looking eyes to create a more youthful appearance that lasts up to twelve months.

PDO threads are dissolvable threads which are introduced into the skin with a very fine needle. This stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, it lifts tissue and improves skin texture. PDO Thread treatment can be used on a number of areas : tear troughs, sagging jowls and drooping upper eyebrows. The procedure takes less than an hour and lasts between 12 / 18 months

So for a younger, fresher and healthier look call The Selston Cosmetic Clinic for more information and book a consultation with Dr Bassi.
