Botox... Longevity and Effectiveness

We recommend to all our clients to have Botox injected every 3 months. This keeps on top of the wrinkles and doing it religiously within this time frame doesn't allow the muscles to fight back!

A recent magazine article agreed with this. Research concluded that if patients had Botox every four months for two years, the frequency of treatment could be reduced to six monthly with good results and patient satisfaction!

It also concluded that patients who began Botox treatment between the ages of 30 to 50 are preventing progressive wrinkles from forming!

Well it is definitely getting very Autumnal, the leaves have dropped and the temperature is declining rapidly! Summer holidays quickly become distant memories!

Vaser Lipo....After Failed Bodytite!

This young lady has a Bodytite procedure to her upper/lower abs/flanks in January this year.

She told us all the areas were treated in one go. She came to us unhappy and needless to say she felt she had very minimal results!

We councelled her, emphasised that the treatment would have to be done in two procedures, using Vaser Hi Def techniques to obtain optimum skin tightening. Officially this is around 33%.

Her other option would have been a tummy tuck which she did not entertain at all!

Her results below are a week after upper abdomen procedure, the skin is tethering and tightening up as shown below.

Dr Bassi and myself recently enjoyed a well earned break from Vaser Lipo! Off we headed to Singapore to join a cruise ship that was to take us around Vietnam, Hong Kong, China and Shanghai!

This following lady had quite stretched skin as you can see from the stretchmarks on her lower tummy. She understood the implications of this, but wasnt looking for miracles, only a flatter smoother silhouette !

She bought her own ultrasound machine which she used daily and had professional massages. She came back a week later for review and looked amazing for such a short space of time!

This young lady is in her late twenties. She is 5ft 3 and weighed 11 stones. She gyms all the time and has a really good diet. Because her fat was resistive no matter what she did, she developed low self esteem and let herself go

She had 3 seperate Vaser Lipo procedures 4 weeks apart. Each time she had 3 litres of anaesthetic and all procedures were roughly 2 and a half hours long. No production line here, we spend all afternoon with one client!! In total she had over 5 litres of pure fat removed!

She followed the post op instructions to the letter, she lost 7 inches in circumference from around the waist! Our client is a new person, she has returned to the gym to reduce her internal fat.

Vaser Lipo Inner Thighs and Knees

At Selston, we like to show the tricky cases as well as the easy cases, not everyone has a reasonable canvas to start with.

This lady in her late fifties wanted her inner thighs and knees trimming down.
She appreciated her legs were very large and wanted to reduce the constant rubbing of her inner thighs and to be able to wear a skirt which was the only reason stopping her.

Her expectations were realistic, she was counselled extensively re;

1 Skin tightening..at most 33%..however we wil use Vaser Hi Def techniques to improve this.

2 We will create a straight line appearance of the inner leg from inner knee to inner upper thigh.

3 She was happy with her outer thighs and the rest of her legs, she just wanted to improve the inners.

The procedure required 2.5 litres of anaesthetic and took two and a half hours.
Her results were satisfactory and she was happy.

This lady in her late sixties wanted Vaser Lipo on her inner thighs and knees !

She was very fit for her age and determined to have her procedure!

She was counselled extensively....her skin retraction was going to be much less compared with a younger person , we could only take a certain amount of fat away so she wouldnt be left with crepey loose skin. We would use Vaser Hi Def techniques in order to give her inner leg a straight appearance, her upper inner thighs would be slimmed down as much as possible.

Summer is coming..... Botox for underarm sweating.

Hi Mags,

You asked me to let you know how I got on with the underarm botox, we’ll I’m delighted to say exceptionally well !

Although you said it may take a couple of weeks to work it pretty much worked immediately. My underarms were a little sore after all those injections for a day or so but nothing to stress over.
For me it’s made a world of difference and makes me less stressed. I love it – no underarm sweat at all even after excessive exercise although my brain thinks I am but a quick touch of my arm pit re-assures me all is dry. No more stained shirts etc.

This young guy came along to have his abs and flanks sorted out! On the day, he brought his mum along with him to drive him the long journey home.

Mum was so impressed she has now had two Vaser Lipo procedures and has booked a third!

We attended the 3 day anti-ageing conference in Monte carlo. This brought together cosmetic Doctors from all over the world.

The latest techniques were presented in the fields of Botox and Dermal fillers. It is clear that the emphasis was on the liquid face lift, how to give a satisfying appearance of a face lift using Botox and Dermal Fillers.

Leading Doctors were demonstrating some amazing techniques with fantastic results which we will be utilising in our everyday practice!

It was great to have a feel of Monte Carlo, to take in the chic locals, the boys toys (cars and yachts to die for!) and to walk around the famous hairpin bend of the Grand Prix circuit. All great fun

Vaser Lipo.... Outer thigh....Results

This lady has the most wonderful upper body, she has one child, does no exercise and has upper body definition to die for! Unfortunately the legs are not the same story! She has quite chunky legs circumferentially, and sadly has shark bite effects on the front of her legs, due to medication having to be injected over these areas when she was young.

She requires a three stage Vaser Lipo procedure. Outer thighs were done first, see photos below.

This procedure required 2 litres of anaesthetic and took 2 hours.

She has booked subsequently for inner thighs and knees, then to have the front of the thighs shaved down.

Inner Thighs....Vaser Lipo Results!

This following lady was a very difficult case. Her inner thighs were uneven from the top to her knees and her upper thighs met in the middle.

We attempted to smooth out the unevenness as much as possible with Vaser Lipo and to give her a smooth line from the knee to the upper thigh and to create a gap in the upper thighs.

This lady's expectations were very realistic.

At Selston, we are always result focused. When somebody is trusting you with their procedure it is imperative you aim for the best possible result.

Our policy is safety first! We will not do lots of areas in one go as you compromise the result and the patient. We have limitations with the tumescent anaesthetic, as too much anaesthetic can give toxicity and you will be extremely poorly!

You need the maximum amount of anaesthetic to get the maximum fat out. So with Vaser Lipo, we stick to two areas at a time unless the areas are quite small and we can do a third.

This young lady came to see us concerning her flanks. Being from a South American background where cosmetic surgery is the norm, her expectations were pretty high.

This procedure required 3 litres of anaesthetic and tooh 3 hours.

This gentleman had four previous strip surgeries and still not happy with the density came to see Dr Reddy for a FUE hair transplant.

Vaser Lipo Outer thighs...Results

Clients often come to the clinic wanting a whole body makeover in one sitting! As Vaser Lipo is a walk in walk out procedure, the emphasis being on results, safety, minimal post op recovery and the client being able to return to work as soon as possible.

For example the legs are a staged procedure, inner thighs and knees are operated on seperately to the outer thighs, usually four weeks later. The rationale for this is you can get considerable post op lower leg swelling which may increase the risk of DVT.

This lady had quite a large area treated on her outer thighs and will be returning in four weeks for her inner thighs. The after photos were taken a week later and show considerable improvement despite a fair amount of bruising and some minor swelling.

South Africa and Vaser Lipo

Dr Bassi and myself headed off to South Africa to see how Vaser Lipo was progressing and make comparisons. We were secretly pleased to note that our results were comparable if not better!

We started off in Cape town where the views were achingly beautiful, and after mornings of Liposuction, spent a little time sightseeing and tasting local wines!!

Then off to Johannesburg and the Kruger for a whistlestop safari! What an amazing thrill to see the animals in their own natural habitat, again with breathtaking views.

Bingo Wings....Vaser Lipo Results

This gorgeous young lady from London is a model and has recently taken a career break to have a baby. Her post pregnancy torso is absolutely perfect, she has lost a lot of weight but unfortunately this reflects in her arms.

She had a fair amount of loose skin, giving her the age old 'bingo wings'! So along she came to see Dr Bassi as she was interested in the skin tightening Vaser Lipo could give her. It was explained that Vaser would give her a minimum of 33% skin tightening which she was happy with and readily booked in!

Here at Selston Cosmetic Clinic, Vaser Lipo has become even more popular since the Christmas period. Everyone is starting to think about summer holidays and baring more flesh. Scary thought for some of us!!

Bookings have gone through the roof, meaning we have been working 7 days a week to to keep the waiting time to a minimum. All good but very tiring!

So with this in mind, Dr Bassi decided to take a well earned break. He left me holding the fort, lost under a pile of paperwork and big lists of 'to do' jobs. He's very thoughtful!!

Off he went for a few days skiing, enjoying blizzards and numerous falls ( wish i had pics of those)!

Vaser Hi Def or Vaser Mid Def.........results

Having a major cosmetic procedure always sends clients straight to the net to accumulate as much information as possible regarding their treatment. When they have decided which route to take the next major decision is normal Vaser? Hi-Def? or Mid Def? All very confusing!

We recommend Vaser Mid Def to most of our clients as it has such a quick recovery time.Vaser Hi Def has a longer recovery time and the post op care is extensive and time consuming. With Mid Def you get some of the definition and outline of Hi Def but without the exhaustive post op recovery time!

With Vaser Mid Def the fat has been removed, the definition is in place, so if you then hit the gym you will achieve the Hi Def look within weeks. Another bonus of using this method is that it is considerably cheaper!!

This following client , from London , is a successful business man who just could not afford to take a week or two off work. He wanted to have the procedure done Friday and be back at his desk Monday, so opted to have Vaser Mid Def.

Alkaline Hair Wash results!

Since launching this new treatment, approximately 3 months ago, I can now give you my personal opinion.........

Clients that are requesting Alkaline hair wash removal, are clients who have completed Laser Hair removal and are left with fluffy fine hair. Also people with fine blonde hair with that downy hair look.

Not only does it remove hair but I have found that it does a very mild superficial skin peel and clients have told me their skin looks and feels smoother and more refined!

When the fluffy hair is removed it makes the skin look smooth and fresh, so when you walk into a room it gives you a presence!

Sunday's, Selston and FUE!

Well there is no rest for the wicked, as my mum always told me! Its early Sunday morning and our hair team from Harley Street are hard at work.

The 3rd Generation FUE procedure is proving so popular, Dr Reddy and his team have stayed over in Nottingham to perform another procedure today.

Selston is such a quiet, still village on a Sunday, you would never know so much was going on at the clinic! Lots of people are popping in for hair consultations, while the locals are popping out for the Sunday newspapers!

Vaser Lipo.... Upper/Lower Abs ....Results

This young lady came to see us for Vaser Lipo as she had a very rounded shape. She was definitely not overweight, just wanted a flatter, sleeker look.

She came back to see us a couple of weeks later, and was really pleased with her initial results!

January at Selston........Vaser Lipo

Its been another busy, busy week here at Selston. A lot of people have decided, New Year, New Me, and jumped on the Vaser trail!

We have met so many lovely people this week, they have given me the inspiration to write this blog as they enjoy reading them so much! And here was me thinking i was sitting here tapping away to myself!

We met two sisters from London who are both Doc's, one of them is having a couple of sessions of Vaser Lipo. Her sister is along to give her moral support and is helping her post operatively, then she is considering having treatment done herself . A great sisterly bond here!

We were so busy, we worked all weekend too! The funniest lady came from Essex to have Vaser Lipo on her abs. There was a lot of laughs whilst performing the procedure. She was scared of needles, so hid under the drapes the whole time, singing ''More, More, More'' to Dr Bassi, letting him know she wanted maximum fat removal! Hilarious.

The hair team worked all weekend too, Dr Reddy and Martha were performing a couple of FUE hair transplants, so the clinic was really buzzing. All in all a busy but satisfying week!

Recent publications are suggesting that Gordon Ramsay has had a £30.000 hair transplant in America. And why not? This guy has so much presence, why not enhance it even more! It sounds very much like a FUE procedure according to the editorials.
